Hey brother, I strongly suggest you do a highlights for each videos and release them both. Most of us don’t have the 1 to 2 hours to listen closely enough to absorb the info and even if we did there is too much competition for our attention. Sum it up, make it more accessible and capture the views you want with shorter, distilled direct main points and we all win.

I have the same experience, and realize now how quickly I become angry, not letting it out on people(I can not do that to people) but withdrawing and not being able to carry on the conversation and actually missing out on opportunities. My emotional disregulation really needs to be taken care of. I’m not sure how I’ll manage with the “90-second” rule next time my emotions take over, but it is so good to know and learn from people who are generous to share their findings and knowledge. Speaking up is another huge challenge for me.

I cannot seem to get to the allowing myself to let go because I know the gold is in experiences once i process them completely, so many continuous unforeseen sudden traumatic life shifts literally over night, most of if them during important youth forming years of personality ~ life changed without my choice or approval. Left with out life skills with a self not developed & thrown Into the sudden Survival by fire, big drop ocean when you don't know how to swim yet.
I may get through this b4v this life time is over. A lot of courage & focused work.
90 seconds can seem like~feel like an eternity!

Excellent! For myself first. As a teacher I think a version of this would go a million miles towards helping our students grow and become more thoughtful about their feelings so that tension and arguments and frustrations in the classroom can be better managed. But I believe we must give and teach these tools to the students so that they become able to sort through their own conflicts with one another and become skilled enough to sort through it until they find their own solutions. Otherwise it is just one teacher who has to be there for every student at every conflict. I believe that this will bring the students closer together, especially if it started from grade one and was continuously taught throughout their school career. I believe then their academic results would even go through the roof. Why? Because of the old saying... I don't care how much you know, until I know how much you care. Children not only need to be loved and cared for, but they need to be helped in expressing themselves in healthy ways. This is very healthy and effective. Well done to Lewis and the great Doctor. Thank you for all this free and excellent advice. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for this video. There are so many points I could relate to. In my last relationship, there were many times where I wanted to speak up but simply did not dare because I had too much concern on how it would affect my girlfriend, who was alone, away from her family and was in gried, having suddenly lost or mum. This video made me realize that, despite her difficult situation, I should speak up and share how I felt about what she did and said (which hurt me many times) as long as I spoke up from a positive, kind, well intentioned place. I am now busy extracting the good from this past experience and I'm certain it will be valuable for me and for my next relationship. Grazie mille!

Sapolsky raises this to a lack of free will. See the Huberman interview. Dr. Rosenberg is spot on about avoidance.

I have stayed in a job I hate for 13 years. Most days I consider suicide as a way out to avoid the pain I'm in and the pain I will have to endure if I make a change. This shows just how strong those emotions can be. Currently the consistent every day slow death of the job is still winning. I hope someday the pain of change will drop below that level for me. Most likely the pain of staying will just go up until I choose one of the other two.
