- U228 introduced the Tombstone Slugs: poison shells to use with any shotgun. This video explains everything about these shells, from the damage, the damage over time, how to unlock them quickly in 5 minutes, advantages and downsides, comparison with other shotgun types, etc.

Extra tip on infiltrator: dont mindlessly swing, missing a hit causes you to lose melee boost before 7s runs out. Slow and steady wins the race
Aaah I see, thanks so much for the tip Tare! I've never played Infiltrator except for some melee achievements, so I had no idea, but I just did a quick test ingame and this is indeed factual. I'll pin your message so that more heisters can learn this if they didn't know - thank you for the info!

I'm sure someone will make it someday! We have mods for things like replacing the 'glass cutter' sound with other friendlier options...

For unlocking the viper grenade you can also use shurikens and grenade launchers with viper grenades I found it easier that way
That is true yup! Especially the newly released poison grenade launcher that shoots 3 AoE poison clouds simultaneously, which released recently. However I wanted to focus on the Free to Play options, for those who do not have any DLC!

Since we are talking about unlocking the plague doctor achievement without using dlc options, deca compound bow with poison arrow tips also helps alot bc it contribute towards the achievement and boosting dmg for the syringe with the bloodthirst skill
Interesting! I wasn't sure if Poison arrows were available without DLC, because I haven't played much with poison bows. That is good to know!
@@Marcmb until this bow was released there really wasn't a way to use poison arrows without having Gage Chivalry or Butcher's Western so if it ticks off the achievement then bet
Downside of the new ammo type: You have to listen to the puking sound effect...

This video was actually supposed to release yesterday, but I ran out of time while editing!!!
I used the viper nade with the ordinance bag on No Mercy to get the kills lol. Took a few resets but it was safe and easy to hide behind the gurney crouched and just throwing em over the top.
I also tried that option yup! Ordnance Bag, and repeatedly throwing gas grenades on the vents / spawn points... but it still took a few restarts, and it was longer because in some cases I waited for the 1st grenade to expire before throwing the 2nd one... so I think Panic Room is better!
so viper grenades also help with the kill all the gangsters on panic room in 60 seconds? cool
True! I forgot that there was an achievement like that (got mine a looong time ago). The fact that poison goes through walls will help a lot with this!
The best way to get the viper grenades is to use the Basilisk with the poison convertion
That would certainly be easier yup! I wanted to showcase the Syringe method because it doesn't require DLC, although if you have access to new poison weapons, those are better!

another way to quickly get the slugs is by going on to meltdown wait behind a door of a container in the warehouse without killing anyone and sit there for about 1.5 mins and once you look out from behind the container door there should be over 100 murkies
Interesting suggestion Tom! It's true that there are _a lot_ of Murkies on Meltdown, although I didn't know the exact numbers. I'll be checking this out someday because it sounds really fun :D
I farmed for the viper grenade unlock with shurikens and the first section of Border Crossing, got it after 7-8 restarts
That's not too bad! Heists like these (Panic Room, Border Crossing, Big Oil...) are probably very decent to farm shuriken / melee kills, but I wanted to recommend assault options for less restarting! Since the tombstone unlock method I showcased already requires 3 to 5 restarts...

That's correct yup! In some cases you will still want high damage, but now one shot is enough for any enemy, which is great :D
k thx small issue. on croud control in my experience shooting an enemy may cause them to fire immediately since the poison take half a second to start working/puke animation
Hey Muad! Is that while hosting, or as a client?
Supposedly, any enemy that takes a shot but doesn't die, will have a low chance (less than 10%) to fire their weapon as a result, although I've never seen it myself with Tombstone rounds, so I assumed the poison just removed that chance completely.
@@Marcmb when the tombstone released i tested it as host on the camera guard on shadow raid. wait 3 seconds and shoot him. he will shoot you then die from poison.
his gunshot alerts nearby people. thats what happened if i remember but it was a while ago

The chance for him to shoot in that scenario is lower than 10% (for the first damage dealt, so ~0.25s before the poison effect starts), so that shouldn't be reliable over a few tests unless there's something weird going on (but as you say, many things have changed since the poison release 8 months ago...).
My only real question is how did he manage to get a keycard on the crates at 2:03 in Shadow Raid.
fairly sure that's the lost safe keycard that spawns on shadow raid, a normal keycard wouldn't spawn up there otherwise
Haha good question! As *@Charizard* replied before me, that's actually one of the Lost Safe keycards that was added with the latest update. I had no idea it was up there until I dropped down from the ceiling :D
I'm currently thinking of making a stealth and loud build which would survive OVK difficulty
its pretty weird to do that, becouse you have diffrent slots to do diffrent approaches.
But most people just restart in stealth.
Hey Beans! You can find some people in the community that like playing in this way yup (never restarting, hybrid builds in case it goes loud...). But as you say, most of the time people just restart if stealth fails :(
It can still be a good concept for heists like Big Oil DAY2 though, so it's not too bad!

tombstone slugs are very op in loud aswell, but for stealth they're just a no brainer!! no more complaining about 2023 aim, marc!

@@Marcmb i forgot to mention this, in the video you talk about how if you dont oneshot then the poison will kill and the guard wont be launched, but if you time it right, and shoot another time before the poison kills you can still launch the guard, so thats another reason why poison slugs are best :p

Not sure if I explained poorly, but what I meant is that you wanted to shoot _a second time_ before the poison killed the enemy (so the poison will not deal the final hit). The clip I showed was an example of what happens if you mess up the timing of your second shot!
what hud is that, also is tombstone still good for non ecm rushes?
Hey ASZ! HUD is PocoHUD (check description for modding video). Tombstone is indeed quite useful for regular stealth yup!

Perhaps yeah! Those have had a fantastic niche usage for a while because of Second Wind builds, which are amazing in stealth. I have a separate video about that one, if you're interested! :D
To unlock the viper grenade throwable you can use a rocket launcher like Commando 101 with Viper Grenade ammunition, if you have McShay weapon pack.
I see what you mean yup, Grenade Launchers equipped with the Poison rounds. That will indeed work quite well, but I wanted to showcase the F2P option, for those who don't have any DLC!

Hey Switch! You would need to play No Mercy sneaky, until you reach the 'Cut the wire' objective. All you need is Stockholm syndrome and a loud weapon to keep all the civs down, so it's not very hard!
@@Marcmb so maybe I'll just bring a flamethrower to that heist for the achievement.
Or a saw. Don't know if an unsilenced sniper or LMG works.

Hey GTTOP! There's something like that yup, but I'm pretty sure it only affects loud. For stealth, considering enemies can only have up to 480 HP, you can see that even at extremely long distances (38m range shown in the video) it's more than enough for a 1-shot kill.
@@Marcmb So it's mean this ammo type are like an direct upgrade for shotgun (longer range but still falloff + poison effect but at the cost of less ammo and less damage)
Kinda interesting since I usually use pistol with shotgun push ability one
might try it later if have to do with ECM rush

I have the game for ps4 and felt incomplete (dlc)frm pc so I got a steam deck to play with all the dlc now I feel better and complete

Try it without _any mods_ (remove WSOCK32.dll temporarily, from your PAYDAY2 directory), and if it's still broken, make a bug report on the forums!

@@Marcmb are you planning on ever getting jacket? Even if you aren't going to use most, if any of the items in heists I do recommend Hotline Miami 2, very fun game, I rather enjoyed 100%ing it with the sole exception of one achievement I will not name.

pros: basically instakills any basic enemy on mayhem and below
stunlocks any enemy it hits regardless of difficulty
removes chances of enemies firing on death
delays pagers slightly
cons: has less ammo..?
takes forever to unlock
But unlocking it is 100% worth it! It has so many pros, and the lowered ammo is not noticeable on most heists :D
they are pretty much long range version of the dragons breath ... oh and it doesnt penetrate thhe shields
Hey there DUCK, it's been a while! Both true statements yup. While it won't penetrate the shields, luckily that doesn't apply often in stealth! (only 1 heist I think)
@@Marcmb it also works well with grinder on loud since it heals you for longer and stuns everyone except dozers. Fully loaded aced and you are area denial crowd control with the poison nades. I still carry judge with incendiary exclusively for shields and Capt.
But yeah ... grinder dodge on dsod might be relevant again especially because of the range ...dragons breath doesnt work well with sniper across the map
@@abstract_duck Good point true! Also from what I've heard, apparently Copycat-Grinder is excellent as well (2s godmode, more health...) so there's lots of new things to test out!

Very true actually! This ammo definitely brings their power level back up (in the context of stealth), especially after damage range multipliers nerfed them unfairly :(

how to unlock scrubs
Hey Toprak! Sorry about that, I didn't mention it in the video because it kept getting longer and longer with more pre-requisites. You need to complete an achievement called "Keeping the Calm", which means completing No Mercy on any difficulty (Normal works, or Overkill for more XP), with just one condition: the heist must be in stealth until you reach the ICU area. So mask up, break the cameras, control the civs... and then follow Bain's objectives. This is a lot easier with a crew of 4!

That is true yup :( Not available on console at all... I'm really hoping they'll do this better with PAYDAY 3, because otherwise it's just extremely unfair.

You suggest buckshot is the default, but slugs are better. More dmg, acc, and you don't need any acc skills unless you're literally sniping. Means less broken glass. Frankly if you miss a lot in st then you need to calm down and/or decrease your sensitivity.

Hey tinygiraffes! Actually Buckshot and AP Slug have the same damage, so no worries there!
Generally low accuracy is preferred, because then your pellets have more spread so it's easier to hit enemies while avoiding risky areas (like aiming for a guard's feet while avoiding a window behind him).
But more importantly, as *@Idio* said, the main downside of AP Slugs is that you will need 4 shots to open a single door, as shown at 0:52. It just feels very bad to play!
@@Marcmb Good point but do you mean total dmg? Because if you miss any of the buckshot, you do less dmg.
I do a lot of maps like the highrise diamond heist. The engine is so bad that slugs are basically required. I once had a window break on a part of the map my character had never saw, let alone been near, so having one slug means like 1/16th the chance of that happening.
@@TinyGiraffes Noo I didn't mean total damage, let me clarify: the way Buckshot works, if any of the 11 pellets hit your target, the target takes full damage! That's why shotguns are so powerful on this game, and why low accuracy (more spread) is considered better. Also, if any of the pellets hits the head, then headshot damage is applied.
As for windows breaking through walls from far away, I had this one on Breakfast in Tijuana (bad hitboxes on release day), but it's not something that happens very often for me...
How did you get the ai to stay in the side room
Hey Ar! You aim towards the AI, and you press Z, which will give them the order to stay in place.
