Sometimes duets are so good, like “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” by Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand. When they were put together, each had recorded their own version of the song independently, and a DJ suggested they should collaborate. They were in their prime. It seems like Manilow and Warwick, while infinitely talented, had no chemistry and no real enthusiasm here. But, I love the way you react. You let the song play, show your feelings and then say what you think. I hope to see more from you.
Great reaction! So smooth, both have beautiful voices. Takes me back to the time when nice ballads like this were on Top 40 radio. I Finally saw Barry Manillow, who I crushed on in the 1970’s, in concert 4 years ago. Hope you can react to “Ready to take a chance again” someday or the movie it’s in “Foul Play” (1978)
Hi Jay! I agree, not one of my favorites but it’s interesting. Barry wrote the music and lyrics for this one, and it’s one of his earlier compositions. It’s not bad but he does have better songs. I had hoped you might do The Bee Gees cover (Run To Me) …that one is much more typical Barry… you can hear his finger prints all over it! 😉😀
This is a reject from the Dionne album. Pleasant but inconsequential. Great for die hard fans but not noteworthy and not one to highlight for an online reaction. A better album reject would be This Time is Ours for vocal quality (sappy song but Dionne in great voice) or When the Good Times Come Again (ditto). Theme from Slaves would be an interesting choice. Her live rendition of My Love (Paul McCartney & Wings) is sublime and packs a punch. Her version of Our Day Will Come is sublime but doesn't pack a punch, nor should it. So is the theme to The Seduction. This pick is pedestrian and perfect to play in between a bunch of her great hits and another bunch of her great hidden gems.

Beautiful always.

“Take The Short Way Home “
It’s an uptempo Dionne song by Barry Gibb.
Try 'You Are My Love' from Heartbreaker. It is an excellent song.

I'd say Run To Me is better.
