I got to build the Gehirn R2 this week. God this keyboard is insane. The design is great, the build experience was pretty good, it feels great to type on.
The attention to detail and the design features are compelling if you are into this. HRGiger/Biopunk theme isn't my thing but if it is yours and you have the funds, this would definitely be a showpiece for a collection.
Glad to see you finally building this! I've got a puke on the way and I'm very excited :D Thanks as always for another great video Alex~ Hope you also have a great week ☺
Great video. Never had the time to watch you build live. I can only wait for RUclips's notification. Here I am! LOL. Great timing, I'm starting to collect WKL this year.
hey guys, im pretty new to the hobby, just wanted to ask if it is common practice to not film the switch on the spacebar? and also, how does not filming it affect the sound of the spacebar?
some switches with really loose housing needs film in order to tighten it but switches nowaday are manufactured with very high tolerance housing already, so most switches nowaday don't need filming while it is required for some of the older switches
I think he's mostly talking about preference here, but mounting will change the sound profile. sandwich mounts are the stiffest and will carry sound through the whole case, whereas gaskets won't anywhere near as much. top mount is between the two, and slightly closer to sandwich in that sense
@@yybbhn Yeah I'm just curious about his take what he personally thinks doesn't work well. Like if he doesn't like long pole or clackier pom housing materials and prefers to balance things out with a nylon switch, something like that. I have 2 top mounts, one with pom plate and banana splits which has a lower sound signature and the other with pom plate and holy pandas which is very clacky. I like them both equally.
My opinion is that long poles and top mount are too harsh to the ear. After trying so many configs I would do normal stems in top mounts. Cherry's sound good in any mount. I don't really pay attention to the composition of things anymore like POM or Nylon etc. I've heard Alex speak about top mount nuance but I also am not sure on specifics so I hope he replies to you.
BUYER BEWARE. Ordered an in stock OBJ.1 four weeks ago, couldn't get on a general query after ordering, noticed the keyboard I ordered is not in stock now, not been able to get a response since. Quick google search shows they shafted a bunch of people in a GB. Now got PayPal on the case to get my refund. When they do respond I'm sure I'll get the usual "I was on holiday" or "my hamster died" crap.
@@alexotos UPDATE in case anyone is following the thread - it just seems that they are really short handed and they can't respond to customer support emails. Nothing worse than spending a load of money and not being able to reach anyone. I managed to get them on Discord and I'm more confident that they will deliver. It is a shame though. Amazing keyboards but issues with delivering on GB's, refunds, and customer support don't seem to be isolated. Hopefully I'll get my OBJ.1 soon and they'll get their issues sorted.
Anyone have recommendations on a full size custom board? I missed the Zoom98 GB and I’m just getting back into things after a few years since my last build. Need a full size one for work
Quite a shame this keyboard doesn't look so special on the outside. It's so unassuming that i find it hard to justify its cost. I really don't like the hidden screws design to fasten the top and bottom case together... Generally that's a surefire way to scuff up the case or lose screws if you aren't careful enough.

Baionlenja has some of the best designs easily. they so beautiful
much love to you Manoli, it’s not often that I’m in a place to run into streams, very much so appreciate the edits for youtube!!
I appreciate you

I got a Biomass on the way too, super excited, I actually also wanted to pair it with Nixies like alex :D

Such a cool design style! The design on the bottom and logo on the back is superrrr cool looking. Great build ❤
that pcb is really cool looking
(8:01) Just for me, Manoli?
that screw design is nuts, so cool to see the mating surtface look all weird looking
Fear Factory called. They want their keyboard back.
The design on the back reminds of the Chozo statues from Metroid a lot.
If I made more money I'd definitely consider this. It's a cool design that appeals to me for sure. It reminds me of that 2000s sci fi also
Baion Lenja :yeee:
Ive got the Grey board with GMK symbiote. Going to be fantasic.
Why did it take me until today to realize the Manoli that edits for Mr. Toes is also the one from the amazing GMK Evil Eye set
He really is the goat.
when in doubt, Nixie it out.

Filming doesn't really changes the way that a switch sound, it's more about fixing the wobbliness of the stem.

whats the built bronze keeb in the beggining?
The cooler LZ CLS basically
if those screws were on the bottom side of the board which we could see... it would be freaking sick
❤❤❤
Hi, what IEMS are those? How much are they, and how good? I'm looking to replace my KZ ZSN Pro X, and those look kinda nice
Just wondering, 11:44 could you go more into detail what kind of switches do you think don't work well with top mount?

Spooky!

For a second I thought it was a Berserk themed board
Someone get on this!
@@keywolf23 been there done that. ex: ecliptica by dark
**Insert “last time I came this early…” joke**
How much is this MONSTER keyboard?
450-ish iirc?

This was in stock from a vendor, I am not sure what is going on with the designer though. I've heard some weird stories as of late, which is a shame.

i wish i could've traded my gb board i bought for this
what GB board

Nice board, I had the intention of buying it BUT I think is too expensive for what it is. Not great sound and the case design quite simple
That usb port misaligned is triggering my OCD, jesus
not sure what you mean there, it's the OG alignment between alphas and nav cluster? off-center sure but misaligned has a different meaning
All style, no substance.
Pretty, but doesn't sound great. Also, we really need more boards with the magnetic system. I just cannot justify the price. Really pretty though!
It’s a no from me dawg.
Nah. Dont like it.
Totally fair! Its all subjective
is cw60 on the top keyboard ?
can't be, that board has aligned JST holes
