      Jeffree Grant does the “carbon fiber” back scratch over time?

    I got the Rhinoshield Crashgaurd, it's not the mod one but i still like it i got it for my Iphone X i'm liking it so far. It's a very nice bumper. I haven't dropped it so far but i have confidence that it will protect my phone. I also have a full coverage front glass screen protector, a back glass screen protector, and camera protector as well so i should be fully protected on top of having the bumper. I have purchased so many cases for my iphone x and i never could stick with one of them, however, since i got this Rhinoshield crashgaurd i've been using it, i just like how slim it is! It's just the perfect "case"

    Good review, I can't decide between this and the Apple Silicone. Any opinion on which one to get?

    • @ExtremeDIY
      @ExtremeDIY  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Quin! My last case was the Apple Silicon. The coating peels off very easily, doesn’t provide great protection, and is frankly overpriced. I’d go with this one all the way. In fact, I literally bought one for all of my family members’ phones. 👍🏻

      Ok thanks! I'm looking at the black marble back, any idea how it will hold up to scratches? Also what is the power button issue?

    • @ExtremeDIY
      @ExtremeDIY  6 лет назад +1

      Quin Sweeten The “marble” and other plastic backs scratch up like crazy. The most scratch resistant is probably the “carbon fiber”. The power button issue is basically where the button doesn’t click and requires a hard press to engage the phone’s button. I️ have a easy fix coming in a follow up video I️ should be releasing shortly, so please subscribe to get notified when I️ do.

    You might as well get a normal case then if you’re just going to put the back on

    Great video. I just got an iPhone X and rhinoshield mod is on its way. I did buy both front/back impact screen protectors-I agree the back needs protection also. Question: What about the camera glass area? Does the rhinoshield bezel cover that area if laid down on its back? Do you have any concerns about the camera area in bumper mode only?

    • @ExtremeDIY
      @ExtremeDIY  6 лет назад

      The rim I removed when I converted it from “bumper mode” to “backplate mode” gives it just enough clearance to not be too concerned.

      Do you like the case?

    • @cooldude4432
      @cooldude4432 6 лет назад

      YourMomDotCom 19 the case is nice and works well. It is easy to take on/off and I think it offers great protection. I have one big complaint...the phone is very slippery. I put the front/back screen protectors on and the phone feels like it will slip out of my hands. The bumper is not very grippy. I did get another standard case from spigen because it was sooo slippery. I did not try it with the mod plastic back. I should try that.

      Got a full review video I’ll be posting today that covers in depth what I like/ don’t like after a month of solid use. I also go over how to fix the power button issue on the iPhone X case. I’ll post the link once it’s live.

    Dude, where do you get the carbon fiber backplate? I dont find it in the website hmm

    • @ExtremeDIY
      @ExtremeDIY  6 лет назад

      Don’t think they have them anymore. It wasn’t real carbon fiber anyway. It was pretty lame.

    Still using the case? Can you give us an update on how it's working? Really appreciate it

    • @ExtremeDIY

      Other than the power button issue I mentioned in a comment below yours (which is a super easy fix and I'll be posting a video of the solution shortly)... I love it! Everyone in my family has one and one of my daughters has already dropped hers 3 times!!! The case is a little scuffed, but no broken screen - so as far as I'm concerned, it's working beautifully!!!

      Thanks a lot for the reply! I recently ordered mine and I'm looking forward to getting it and trying it out. I haven't purchased the screen protectors but I am considering it. Do you have it on the front as well or just the back? And if you do have it on the front do you think the quality of the screen's resolution is degraded?
      Thanks again, look forward to more vids.

      I actually have the Impact Protection Screen Protector only on the front of my phone. If I would use the case as a bumper without the backplate, then I'd DEFINITELY go with it there, too. Got my whole family using that screen protector, too. I used to use tempered glass, but I've recently discovered that tempered glass doesn't protect from drops much. The Impact Protection one does. The only thing that degrades the clarity is oil smudges from your fingers, but you can just wipe them off.

      Don't think they offer it anymore. It wasn't real carbon fiber anyway... very cheap looking. Getting ready to do a review and giveaway on another case that I like MUCH better! Real carbon fiber back!!! Super protective! Be sure you're subscribed so you catch it once I upload it!

    I’ve heard so many horrible reviews on this case, I see your description mentions power button fix. I can’t see spending price on case that you need fix. Shipping times r horrible. Customer service never replies. Company is horrible.

      @ExtremeDIY  6 лет назад

      Shawn Schrader I got mine very quickly. I hear ya on the fix, but it does only take 1 min. Watch my full review vid where I walk you through it. It’s worth it to me because there’s nothing else out there that’s as protective and versatile. But thanks for your opinion and comment. I appreciate the feedback!

    I have had one of the worst experiences with Toni shield I bought the rinosheild mod and screen protector with the attachment for a carbon fiber backplate when I Finally got it in the mail it felt like super cheap non grippy rubber and the carbon fiber backing barely clips in it can fall out on random sometimes well I had my first drop with it when I was jogging SLOW and it fell out of my pocket not only did the backplate break in multiple areas the “ scuff proof” bumper get covered in deep scratches and stains leaving it unusable I hated this case. (WARNING) this case is super cheap and the company will not return my emails

    The rhino shield impact protector for the back DOES NOT fit the mod bumper.

    • @ExtremeDIY
      @ExtremeDIY  6 лет назад +1

      It doesn’t with the back plate, but it should with just the bumper. Although I’ve never actually done it, so can’t confirm either way. I’ve moved on from this case to another I like much better. Will be posting a review video of that case soon. I’ll be giving away 4 cases, too. So subscribe to be notified when it’s uploaded if you’re interested.

      According to rhino shield it does not fit at all, hopefully you are right mate.

    Case doesn’t appear to be shock resistant. Pelican is it for me.

      as10076 speaking from experience the rhinoshield brand is without a doubt the strongest, most reliable case on the market. I just bought a new case after a year of owning my phone and im rewatching drop test videos to reassure myself im just being paranoid about using my speck case.
