first class footage yet again i'm loving this tour on the bike with you guys....i hate when the video ends and i know i need to wait a few days for next one to appear...but it's well worth it ..thank you both for keeping me glued to your channel.
I loved this episode. Beautifully filmed. Some impressive and confident riding there, Sean. I did wonder about poor Emily getting an achy arm from constantly holding onto the GoPro as you're going along. I have visions of Emily falling asleep at night, clutching the GoPro aloft and waking up in the same position... 😂🤣
Thank you so much for the kind words! We are really glad you enjoyed the episode. As for Emily and the GoPro, you're not far off 😂😂! It definitely takes some effort to hold it steady during the ride and not take out cyclists 😁. Thanks again for watching, the next part of this episode is now live!
Hi guys, my girlfriend and I have been playing catch up with all your videos as well as watching your up to date ones. The videos are 1st class. We have done the nc 500 ourselves, twos up and watch a lot of other people doing the same. Thought we'd seen as much as we wanted to see,,, but your videos and commentary have taken it to a different level ,( even if you're pronuncietion of both the Scottish and English language is slightly off😃👍), To be honest we have enjoyed the lake district the best so far. It's something we have both wanted to do for a while. Take great care on the hardknock pass. If the videos are anything to go buy ,,, it looks like the hardest one to do. 🤞🤞🤞
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind words-it's awesome to hear that you and your girlfriend have been enjoying the videos! It sounds like you’ve had some incredible experiences on the NC500 already, but I’m really glad we could bring a new perspective to it. The Lake District is definitely a hidden gem, and we hope you get to ride it soon 😎👍🏻. As for Hardknott Pass, it certainly lived up to its reputation! Thanks again for following along, and we’re excited to share more of our adventures with you! (Hardknott pass episode out now 😉)
Yet more excellent filming of superb scenery. Having ridden through the Lakes and the various passes it’s fantastic to have your brilliant footage, (especially the aerial drone footage) to remind me of these wonderful roads and scenery. I really think you should sell all your footage of this series to the UK Tourist Board, you’ve captured the UK scenery at its best 😊
Thanks so much for your kind words of encouragement 😊. It's really nice when people get reminded of the fond memories they had themselves when watching these videos. The tourist board are welcome to share our journey - or even invite us back would be nice 😁.
Another great vid- thanks both! Unfortunately you have to visit the Lakes out of season for it to be a pleasant experience. Overtourism and big vehicles on small roads have just changed the place. (and make me wish bikes came with a reverse gear!)
Thanks! Yeah we thought it must be like that -this was filmed in May and even then it was starting to get busy! The big vehicles on these shall roads is a nightmare! Well the R18 has a reverse gear but I don’t think that bike would make things easier 🤣. Thanks for watching and the next video is out now 😎👍🏻
Thanks very much! Emily flies the drone from the pillion seat 👍🏻 Here’s the full playlist each with plenty of drone footage 😎👍🏻 ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=ygSeUnU4peOoMM7v
Loving this episode and getting me ready for my trip in October. I enjoy the cinematic music to accompany the drone footage and b roll stuff. Btw it’s pronounced Rhinos pass. (Wrynose pass) again silent W as with Keswick.
Great journey through the Lake District and valleys guys, nice little towns Keswick and Ambleside and drone shots were amazing, all the best Sean and Emily, 🏍
Hi Davie, thanks very much and hang you enjoyed the first part of our Lake District tour 😎👍🏻 There really are some great places to visit in this area and the colours filmed so well. Thanks again 😊
Well I never, literally just back this evening (26 September) from riding 6 of the top Lake District passes in one day. We were camped at the end of Hardknott Pass in Eskdale Looking forward to seeing how you manage Hardknott two up 😱
What a wonderful video 🤩! I watched it 3 times, the landscapes in the green mountains at the beginning are so superb! Thank you very much for sharing your travels with us! And I can't wait for the next video ✌
Thanks ever so much! 😊🙏🏻. Yeah there really are some crazy fun roads in the Lake District! -the Hardknott is in the next episode which must me the most crazy one! 😁
A great video I enjoyed the music and the drone shots. What a great pair you are. I don't remember the roads being as narrow as what you have encountered in this episode. People in cars for the most part seem quite courteous. You usually don't get that in North America. One exception would be the interior of British Columbia. Enjoy the ride and Emily don't let the seat cook you too much. You still have a way to go.
Thanks very much! Glad to hear you enjoyed it and thanks for your kind words of encouragement 😊. Guess if they don't keep on top of those hedges the roads get narrower lol The main connecting roads are standard width but the off roads and pass roads in this area are all like this. Yeah that's true the people in BC are very polite 😊 Haha okay maybe heat setting number 1 instead 🤣
Thanks, yeah this was one of those memorable days. So many fantastic rides and vistas in teh Lake District! Hopefully you make it out there soon on a nice sunny day 😊
Hello again from across the pond! I Tell you what, i’ve seen a whole lot of different Moto logos what kudos to you? I like yours the best. Keep on putting these great videos out. I’m just curious in. What country were you in doing this vlog? What really got me is when you were going through these little tiny roads not even big enough for one car much less one car and a motorcycle for you to get Buy hats off to you. Keep up the great work cheers and have a pint on me!
Hi David! That's so good of you to say, we appreciate your kind words of encouragement! We have so many videos coming up in the next few months =) This video was filmed in England in the Lake District, these narrow lanes are typical of the UK and Ireland. Thanks very much and here is the full playlist of the UK and Ireland in case you would like to watch them in order 😊 ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=4LPDMoPX2b4831cM

Hi Ruud! Yeah this day was spectacular and very exhilarating 😊. Glad you get to feel what this area is like, the next video is the Hardknott pass which was even more amazing 🤩
Hi guys great trip my old stomping ground lake district used to live in keswick done all the passes many times been following you a while now and have to say like the way you both get on with it and great editing Miss those.old.roads now living southern Italy Still riding alot to see in Italy and the weather a bit kinder Safe journey
Hey Derek, this was a fantastic day riding around the Lake District 😊 Great to hear you like the videos and we are happy to be able to show off these locations. We live outside the Uk too and it’s amazing how we still miss these familiar country lanes 😊. Plenty of fantastic rides in Italy so that should keep you busy for many years! We hoped for a mild Autumn in Switzerland and northern Italy but it’s looking like an early winter! 🤣
Great episode guys! I really must do more exploring of the lake district. Only an hour and a half away and visited many times in car but not spent enough time on bike there
Great stuff guys, surprised Emma hasn't remarked on the very cute Herdwick (Herdys) sheep, lol. I've ridden these passes many times, wouldn't recommend them in the winter though! I know you're well used to snow and ice in Switzerland but some of these passes in the Lakes don't get gritted in the winter! Looking forward to the next instalment.
Haha right! They were cute sheep indeed , sure Emily must have had an off camera cute sheep moment 😁 Can imagine these roads are treacherous in the winter! We tend not to ride in the winter in Switzerland... unless its a nice sunny day and by midday the sun will have melted most f the ice but still just not worth it. We are looking forwards to sharing the next one too as it's the Hardknott pass! 😎👍
Thanks very much John 👍Also the playlist for this tour is nearly finished in case you are interested 😎 ruclips.net/p/PLl_mRzVHVQ0zUtFe7yIi6rO-2-k465D31&si=uK5YtJKF2ATPjqZW
I watched you Wrynose to Hard knotts pass video I’ve done it a few times on different bikes tried on a FZR 400 but couldn’t get up it due to lack of fuel it was the first left hand bend going up very time I got to that point the carburettors ran out of fuel and the bike stopped dead I had to go back to the bottom and take the easy route out , however I’ve done the trip the other way round Hard knotts first then wyrnose it’s a lot easier that way
Oh wow!! Didn't even think of that but yeah i guess the fuel just ran to the back -nightmare!! That's the last place you want to lose drive. Yeah down hill is a lot easier ( we did the pass a couple of times in order to get both onboard and drone footage)
Loving the tour. As for the slippy seat try goal keeper glove glue I use it on my Ducati seat needs topping up now and again but it stops you sliding about 👍
Yeah it really did -nice and familiar feel 😊. We managed to get the pads changed in Inverness when we had the series 😎👍🏻 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it 😎👍🏻
I was there this June starting at Ravenglass ride to Hardknott pass then Wrynose pass on through Ambleside to pick up the struggle to Kirkstone pass which has some brilliant new tarmac then I did Newlands before turning left and on to Honister pass, the slate mines you were thinking of, then Keswick, main car park has a small area for bikes free parking near the coffee kiosk, for lunch and a cuppa before the ride back to Ravenglass, all on my Honda Super Cub 125 what a days ride that was.
Hi William, that sounds like an awesome day! Those Honda Super cubs are great -would love to take one for a spin 😎👍🏻. Didn’t know there was bike parking ….managed to squeeze the bike behind the cafe but we don’t suggest it lol 🤣.
Great camera and drone footage😊when looking at the deep, dark foreboding waters, I half expect a massive serpent 🐍 to rise up. Great bike control Sean, some of those drivers are talentless, clueless morons (god, I wanted to swear !! Lol)
Love the video :) It's pronounced Wrynose to rhyme with tie (Wry-nose) and the 'w' is silent in Keswick, so it's pronounced Kessick. I was up Wrynose and Hard Knott on New Years day this year, so the memories are still fresh. (MUCH quieter!) Oh, and look up the Fred Whitton sportive and you'll see it's a single cycle sportive that takes in all the passes you did that day.
New Year’s Day must have been fresh for sure but worth it to get the place to yourself 😎👍🏻. That’s some achievement to cycle all those in a day! Some rather steep climbs there 👍🏻
Was there in June this year me BMW 1250 adventure trophy stayed in Whitehaven on a hill nice B&B ,the harbour was full of brown water from the railway apparentley ,any way saw the lakes was not so impressed roads full etc...
This was from late May, it did appear there was a bit of traffic but was still quiet. Can imagine it’s a different experience altogether on a busy day. But the mountain passes are lots of fun 😎👍🏻
Some very familiar routes there, brilliant. Watch out though when flying your drone in these places, those military jets can sneak up on you incredibly quickly 😳
Yeah can just about remember some of them from the last time but it really has been too long. We didn’t receive any none fly zone notifications and stayed below 100m so should be a problem but yeah you are right those jets come from nowhere! -impressive aircrafts indeed 😎
Another great one! Have you ever detailed how Emily does the on-bike drone footage and what equipment you have? What is your 'process' for setting up to get that footage?
Another great video Sean and Emily, The Lake District and those passes are really beautiful. great footage yet again. The Action 4's are giving great footage, which drone are you using at the moment? FAB!!!!!
Right, not searching any more Sean, where can I find the camera support rig you have for your rear facing camera, really need something like that for an upcoming massive adventure trip. Cheers and keep the content coming, loving it all.
@@SeanandEmily hmmm cant find them on the GP website, I am referring to the carbon poles on the right hand side of your bike, looks like they are fastened to the crash bars.
Hi Sean and Emily, I would like to know where you mounted the arm where your camera is on the front of the GS, where you can buy it? your videos are fantastic Greetings Nick
@KevGillespie The 'W' is silent in Keswick, but in other words, it's not, like 'Ipswich' or 'Middlewich.' There's no universal rule about when the 'W' goes silent.
@@SeanandEmily Yeah, not a universal rule, just a correct pronunciation, probably a dialect change over a few hundred years shortened it, like other words in the English language.
How do you get the amazing drone footage - is there a third party operator or can you somehow pre-programme it to follow you - but how and where to then land it ??
Hi Graham, if you look closely you will see Emily is flying the drone from the pillion seat. Although it does have a follow me function it isn’t as smooth as when Emily flys it and you’re limited to altitude.
@@SeanandEmily Hi Sean - incredible technology available to us now in the 21st Century. I did notice Emily with what I thought was just some sort of "Go Pro" but I now understand it to be a multi function bit of kit. I've ridden this route many times from my home in York (bit of a trek to get to the start but worth it) but seeing it from the air adds a whole new dimesnion. thanks for the explanation and a wonderful set of videos.🛵
Yeah technology is improving so fast! We keep upgrading our kit and always impressed by the results. We often ride important stretches twice, the first time with the camera to catch our first reactions and the second time with the drone to capture the road. (both managed by Emily 😊)
I enjoyed the video but the editing on wrynose pass and Honister pass was a little off lol. One scene you was at the top then the bottom then back at the top lol
Glad you enjoyed the video! As for the editing, the music montages are exactly that-montages of the ride, not necessarily in real-time sequence. Everything was in order when we were riding and speaking, so no worries there!
We felt bad for them but then maybe they had plenty of ground clearance 🤞🏻. Woh woh woh you never mentioned a Mustang before 😎🙌🏻 🔥 -cool car but yeah might go a bit too big for these roads 😁
It’s a funny language for sure with some pronunciations coming from local dialects so it isn’t exactly straightforward, is it? The 'W' is silent in Keswick, but in other words, it's not, like 'Ipswich' or 'Middlewich.' There's no universal rule about when the 'W' goes silent -we could of course stop at every town and village we stop by and ask someone but then we wouldn’t make much progress would we 😉
@@raymondporter2094 the second way is the closest, ‘Baal’ is the French word for Basel. Basel airport is technically in France so most airlines refers to it as Baal when in actual fact Basel is a German speaking city 😎👍🏻
Unfortunately Westminster media and social media regarding Scotland infrastructure etc can be misleading and biased against Scotgov Unfortunately it is something you have to be aware of in Scotland Sorry to be political but as you said the roads aren’t as bad as you were led to believe But glad you Enjoyed beautiful Scotland and showed her in such a good light Haste ye back Apologies once again re the political slant
Hi, as we don’t live in the UK we dint really keep up with political news, however many people told us to expect poor roads through the UK. Although we did experience this near bigger cities we must say the roads in Scotland were fantastic (where we went anyhow) We are glad you enjoyed our episodes of Scotland and it was truly a fantastic experience discovering this wonderful country! Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the last few episodes of this series before our next adventure starts 😎👍🏻

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. No we have not as equipment is ever changing and we focus our time on creating the actual tour videos 😎👍🏻
Another great video Sean and Emily, The Lake District and those passes are really beautiful. great footage yet again. The Action 4's are giving great footage, which drone are you using at the moment? FAB!!!!!
Hey Tim, thanks! Yeah we had forgotten how beautiful the Lake District is 😊 Action 4’s are doing great and we are using the Mini4 pro from DJI 😎👍🏻
i do agree with you some driver need to stay off this kind of road , lots of time have near miss .
Yeah, we kind of expect them but still being on their side of the road is the least they could do lol 😆
Right, not searching any more Sean, where can I find the camera support rig you have for your rear facing camera, really need something like that for an upcoming massive adventure trip. Cheers and keep the content coming, loving it all.
Hey, no secret they are GoPro Mounts available on their website (you will have to buy 2 of them though) 😉
@@SeanandEmily hmmm cant find them on the GP website, I am referring to the carbon poles on the right hand side of your bike, looks like they are fastened to the crash bars.
Search GoPro Boom -they are on the website for sure 👍🏻
Hi just want to say Keswick has a silent w and wrynose pass first 3 letters sounds like rye hope you don’t mind us saying
So we’ve heard. Other than that we hope you enjoyed the video

Perjalanan yang menyenangkan, suasananya indah sekali
Salam dari Indonesia
Thank you very much! Great to have you watching from Indonesia! 😎👍
Hi Sean and Emily, I would like to know where you mounted the arm where your camera is on the front of the GS, where you can buy it? your videos are fantastic
Greetings Nick
Hi Nick, glad you like the videos. The mount is from GoPro and it’s mounted to the crash bars 👍🏻
We did the lake District on the first weekend in June and there was a car crashed on that bridge on honnister pass
They must have left it there as this was towards the end of May. Hope you had a good ride and enjoyed the video 👍🏻
Stunning weekend in the lake District.love all your videos
Loving the vids guys, especially drone footage, what type do you use? Thanks
Hi, thanks very much! We are using the DJI Mini4 pro and Emily fly's it from the back seat 😎👍
@@SeanandEmily thanks!
Wow that was a bit hair raising, great driving, ewe did well
Thanks! Some tricky roads in this area ….the next Episode is the Hardknott pass which must be one of the steepest hairpins ever 🤣
Great video as always guys, but just to note, the w in Keswick is silent 😂
Then why is it there? 😂🤣
@@SeanandEmily There’s silent letters in many place names mate 😅
@@SeanandEmily Wow, that's dedication and all for the enjoyment of us viewers, but much apprciated nevertheless🛵
@@SeanandEmily keep it up 😎
Bowness is a better base for Windermere the Angel Inn or the Albert
ok
Porsche owners in for a bit of a disapointment. I would never think going on those roads with my Mustang.
Great roads with s bike though. 😊
We felt bad for them but then maybe they had plenty of ground clearance 🤞🏻. Woh woh woh you never mentioned a Mustang before 😎🙌🏻 🔥 -cool car but yeah might go a bit too big for these roads 😁
@@SeanandEmily hahaha yeah i do have a neat little Mustang. It’s a 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra supersnake. 755hp🙈😎
Fantastic! That must be a LOT of fun to say the least! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@SeanandEmily always a big smile whilst driving😊
The Joshua tree 🤓🤣😊
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👍👍👍🏍️
Thanks 😊👍🏻
More passes than Harry Kane made at the Euros.....
😂🤣😂
Pronounced Kes ick the W is silent
It’s a funny language for sure with some pronunciations coming from local dialects so it isn’t exactly straightforward, is it? The 'W' is silent in Keswick, but in other words, it's not, like 'Ipswich' or 'Middlewich.' There's no universal rule about when the 'W' goes silent -we could of course stop at every town and village we stop by and ask someone but then we wouldn’t make much progress would we 😉
If you know, you know.
By the way, is it Basil, Bazell or "Baal"...?@@SeanandEmily
@@raymondporter2094 the second way is the closest, ‘Baal’ is the French word for Basel. Basel airport is technically in France so most airlines refers to it as Baal when in actual fact Basel is a German speaking city 😎👍🏻
Thank you for this, I was starting to feel like their personal language fascist. 😂
@@SeanandEmily and I thought English was confusing 😅
Unfortunately Westminster media and social media regarding Scotland infrastructure etc can be misleading and biased against Scotgov
Unfortunately it is something you have to be aware of in Scotland
Sorry to be political but as you said the roads aren’t as bad as you were led to believe
But glad you Enjoyed beautiful Scotland and showed her in such a good light
Haste ye back
Apologies once again re the political slant
Hi, as we don’t live in the UK we dint really keep up with political news, however many people told us to expect poor roads through the UK. Although we did experience this near bigger cities we must say the roads in Scotland were fantastic (where we went anyhow)
We are glad you enjoyed our episodes of Scotland and it was truly a fantastic experience discovering this wonderful country!
Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the last few episodes of this series before our next adventure starts 😎👍🏻
Pronounced ry nose pass
Pronounced thank-you, appreciation doesn’t have to be silent 😉
