AC Family, we made it to 1 yr and another Season of nature discovery! Heart is so full writing this! Thank you for an amazing year. Some big plans are coming up next! Q: Can you guess what's coming up in the next season?
Those little aquatic worms look like detritus worms. If so, they are not parasitic, just scavengers. I am a zoology major and studied parasitology, but of course I could be wrong so when you move the caiman it wouldnt hurt to take in a fecal sample to an exotic vet for a fecal float to ensure there aren't any nasty parasites that could inhibit his health. To add, when you move Godzilla, adding fish can be good to control the worm population.
@@AntsCanada also to ease your mind a bit, most parasitic worms (or parasites in general) can not live outside of the host for long so the fact that there are so many thriving probably means they are just stand alone organisms! 😄

I think you just put the weaver ants into an area without the kinds of leaves they needed. They didn't want the small sappy banyan trees so they settled for vines, but... that wasn't their ideal for their protection or setup since they had to split their queen groups apart and couldn't really make a base.
Exactly. He kept weaver ants before and for those he carefully chose a suitable host tree. But there was no habitat in Orchadia and in Pantdora there were only spots with few soft leaves which they could combine, but no proper tree for a growing colony.
Agree. The fact that we have seen little to no video footage of leaf nests in his videos when they were still thriving up to their extinction means that the ants were not able to adapt.
I believe it's the first time in many months watching this series that I broke into tears.. I felt very sorry for poor weaver ants, it's not something that I would get particularly emotional over, but seeing these last few ants cuddle together and barely moving under a leaf - broke me. Insects are often compared to organic machines, with very little individual mind of their own. But these poor last handful of workers, when left without purpose, when there's nowhere to go, no one to care for or protect, no more order or trail to follow - their last instinct is to hug and hold each other close
Did you see the series where he had a bunch of weaver queens? and some of the queens got kicked out of the group and one would go visit the shunned queens while they died. That was amazing.

Thank you for this year! I always loved nature and animals, but insects always scare me a little bit. Your video's made me see how much these insects do for us, and I found myself caring about it a lot during this year of the rainforest vivarium and arcadia, lovely to see all the little personalities of the insects and other animals.
@AgHQ-xc4be exactly. For awhile we were losing some insects with no explanation as to what happened. Like rocksteady for example. Now with him adding more and more to the two vivariums with plans to do more, it just seems like he is gonna need more help in the mystery department Small unobtrusive, weather-proof cameras may do the trick.
There’s something so poetic about you narrating how the weaver ants queens ran out of silk & the weavers are all huddled together under a leaf with a light stream of silk coming down with the sunlight….😢 RIP Weavers

This multi-vivarium ecosystem is gonna have more than 10 seasons, it's so amazing that this has 3 full seasons of discovery and challenges. I've been watching this channel since around 5 or more years ago and I love the content you make as we discover more about nature in every video! I know an end of a season means a break, usually, so have a great Christmas and New Year break! Really excited for that swamp cave vivarium thing, I forgot since it's been so many episodes, but whatever it is, I'm hyped!
As someone who has kept both weavers and dolichoderus before, here are my theories for their disappearances - It is unlikely for the bullet ants to have been the sole cause behind the demise of the weavers. Asian bullet ants are a fairly large species of ant and are mainly terrestrial, making climbing vines while fighting against the mainly arboreal and fairly ranged weaver ants not a good idea for them. The numbers of the weaver ants would have also made it difficult for the then relatively small colony of asian bullet ants to mount an effective attack into the leaves and branches of the weaver ant domain. Thus my theory is that some unknow factor, maybe increased competition, disease or something else severely weakened the workers and queens of the weaver colony, thus allowing the bullet ant colony to grow in size. at the same time, due to the decrease in numbers, less food would be gathered by less existing workers to feed the queens and brood and this would continue in a downward spiral. less food->less brood->less workers-> less food etc. meanwhile, this means more food for competitors, ie the bullet ants. at a certain point, the weaver ants would become unable to hold their own against a bullet ant attack which is precisely what happened eventually, leading to their demise and "extinction". In conclusion the weaver ants likely fell victim to an unknow factor that weakened their colony and they were unable to recover, allowing their competitors to raid their nests and kill them. -for the dolichoderus, in my experience they are extremely fragile as a species when relocated to a new location and are also not avid hunters unlike larger species such as trapjaws. Thus they likely failed to acquire the proper resources needed to sustain their colony and died.
Mikey, you have UNMATCHED cinematography skill. I wait every week for a new episode! I hope this channel grows into something bigger than we could have ever hoped for! 💯

Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary!! May many more years come! Id love to see the waterfall in action again, perhaps inmproved with some epiphytes. Cant wait for the 3rd Vivarium!
Yes getting the waterfall in action again would be great. That would be a perfect opportunity to add more epiphytes is they are an integral part of the tropical rainforest . There are many small orchids that would thrive there such as species of Dendrobium and Pleurothallis. Also there are species of small creeping ferns which are epiphytic and would do very well on the waterfall.

Thank you for telling and producing such a great series. I want you on Rogen. I'm trying to get a hold of Jamie. You are more important than you think. It's important that we teach each other. 🙏
Thank you. I'm honored. 🙏🐜🌿
This series is oddly relaxing
Really ?
Now you know how the aliens watching us and god feel like...😁
@@MrT_Rex Actually no, it’s just relaxing, nothing add about it
Holy crap! I loved AntsCanada as a kid! You’ve come a long way since then!
We appreciate your hard work!! Thank you so much for teaching us about the things you love!!
So excited to see what happens with the ecosystem next!
This series has been absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Pantdora, Orchadia, and beyond.
Once godzilla is moved out, are you gonna do another big animal migration event
Godzilla is gonna leave?
?????
@@Sinisteromaygad To live in a big outside pool setup
@@juha-mattikoponen1625 well it’s better for him
I think he will be staying inside for a little while. I think the 3th project will be a swamp terrarium @@juha-mattikoponen1625
No way it's been a year already. Happy Birthday to Pantdora! It's been such a wonder to see these small animals living their lives in larger than life HD. Here's to more and more years of these vivariums!
Yay! I’m laid up for two weeks after having foot surgery. So good that my favorite channel is here to take my mind off the pain! Thank you.❤
Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏
@ thank you. Happy holidays!
@user-uj8dh7gf4g merry Christmas and a happy new year to you too
The amount of work out into this project and these videos is insane. This stuff is so interesting, it's awesome. Thanks for doing this!
Hey AC , can’t believe it’s been a year!🎉 this is maybe one of my favourite shows in the Internet. It’s remarkable how much I learned this passt year just by watching your videos. I also started watching your older content and it’s a blast my friend.
To many more years and the nother Mil subs. 🎉🎉
It's been awhile since I last binge watched your channel, but I love the documentary style videos. The scope of your vivariums are crazy. It's all really amazing! Keep up the great work!
Ooooh can’t wait to see what happens this episode!!!
22:00 [Neo] A black cat went passed us, and then another just like it.
And as always, here on the AntWarsCanada Ant Wars Channel!
This is truly the best Vivarium/terrarium/aquarium channel there is.
Loved the update on all the ants . Great video!
It's always a pleasure to start the week with a journey into the rainforest.
Congratulations Ant Canada, I love your channel.
Bag worms are SO COOL, i saw an aquatic version of one that had encased itself in tiny stones and it was actually pretty beautiful 😊
21:43 mistake spotted! Duplicate lines played back to back 😂
Its finally completed: ruclips.net/video/ZTk9LfLkUTA/видео.html
I feel like I was taking crazy pills 🤪
Glad I came to the comments to double check if I had imagined that lmao, it even seemed to be said with different inflection too 😅
I noticed it too 🤣
Easily fixed in RUclips studio : snip snip! And voilà!
Was it a different black cat? or the same black cat?
Thank you for this year! I always loved nature and animals, but insects always scare me a little bit. Your video's made me see how much these insects do for us, and I found myself caring about it a lot during this year of the rainforest vivarium and arcadia, lovely to see all the little personalities of the insects and other animals.
We’re in the endgame now
"This is truly our Avengers: Endgame"
Antvengers
Watch out for antman crawling up your butt
Antvengers blob war
"I understood that reference."
Happy birthday to dear Pnadora! Endurance! Don't give up!
Have you ever thought about putting in baby cameras in different, hard to reach, areas of the vivariums?
stationary cams or a cam to look in the stump etc?
Are there baby cameras with high quality? Genuine question tho😅
@AgHQ-xc4be exactly. For awhile we were losing some insects with no explanation as to what happened. Like rocksteady for example. Now with him adding more and more to the two vivariums with plans to do more, it just seems like he is gonna need more help in the mystery department
Small unobtrusive, weather-proof cameras may do the trick.
@@FloTubePro I sure hope so. I mean it's 2024. Look at some of things we've accomplished
Ooh like a 24 hour live stream ^^
There’s something so poetic about you narrating how the weaver ants queens ran out of silk & the weavers are all huddled together under a leaf with a light stream of silk coming down with the sunlight….😢 RIP Weavers
You should add a dwarf snakehead to the water area, there really cool there native to south east asia
❤
Agree
Love these guys!
Yesss my favourite fish 🐟
Before I even get past the 4 min. mark, I just want to say. "NOT THE WEAVER ANTS". They were so cool. Something I had never heard about. So sad that we won't get to see more of their life and nests. It was really fascinating.
I don't know how but your content just gets better and better!!💚💚💚
Already been a year... it flew by... still so excited to watch this serie. Sorry for snip and the weaver ants. I think it will be good when Godzilla is gone. Think he/she is too big now. It is really interesting to see how species differ during the episodes. They come and go... how mother nature always recovers... thank you... looking forward to the 4th season... best serie I ever seen... ❤❤❤ I wish you but success and hope lots of people see your series... how important balance is in nature and that humans are the worst animals on the planet... ❤❤❤
Happy Birthday Pantdora. I wish you the best and that you survive and evolve over the next few years.
As someone who has kept both weavers and dolichoderus before, here are my theories for their disappearances
- It is unlikely for the bullet ants to have been the sole cause behind the demise of the weavers.
Thank you for all the time and effort put into your videos
Mikey, you have UNMATCHED cinematography skill. I wait every week for a new episode! I hope this channel grows into something bigger than we could have ever hoped for! 💯
I Agree
When you really observe nature it makes you think just how amazing the creator of all must be to have created life on earth where everything is important & dependent on each other in some way shape or form. I give all praise to the most high especially for ant Canada showing me a snippet of how awesome our creator is & the education i get from this channel.
May God bless you & your vivariums with success because you're a very educational channel to watch.
Shalom Aleichem ❤
Sad to see the cremato blasters become the sort of villains of Orchadia. I remember when they were the underdog third party in the Marauder vs Black Crazy Ant war
I think they are cool and if them becoming a little villanous helps keep the invasive ants in check then I say go Cromatoblasters!
Either you die a hero, or live enough to become the villain
The dark hoard came back… and no one is talking about them. I remember them being the main villain.
@@OmegaZilla-gy3vw Yeah, they just haven't established themselves yet
I cant wait for your next video! Thankyou for sharing these wonderful videos! Just amazing ! Really appreciate the insight into this other world of wonder that isn't really even thought about! 😊
cant believe ive been watching this series for a year
Happy Christmas AC! 🎉🎉😂😂
Love this channel! 😍😍
I love how the second vivarium has not nearly as many animals and he’s already starting a third one
Congrats on one year of this project. Been glued to it since stumbling across your channel and love watching the development of everything.
Been waiting patiently for this, thanks.
Congratulations on 1 year of Pantdora! It has been so great. Every episode I've learned something new, especially about ants. The mealy bug thing with ants was so crazy to see and to learn. I wonder if that honey dew is the sweet smell in a rainforest? 🎉🎉 Thank you for creating this amazing series and for creating the best educational channel on RUclips
🙏🌿❤️🐜✨️
I hope to see Pantora reach year 2 🤞🏼
It's been a crazy year full of ups and downs, but well worth it. Roll on season 4 of this epic saga.
Hey Antscanada I hope season 4 will be even greater than season 1 2 and 3 combined Have a good one man Btw Your gonna cook with season 4
I've been working on my mental health and these videos definitely help. Kind of inspired me to do the same thing. Seems therapeutic
In the first two minutes of watching this video, the view count jumped by tens of thousands and the like count jumped by 6,000. Good job!
After watching every single video leading up to this point I can say this, you in aspire me man I mean your half the reason I even want to study ants for a living and this project has made me even more excited to see what I can do out there and what discoveries I can make great content dude
Can you use rope instead of vines to link the two areas?
RIP Snip 😢 please add more when godzilla moves out.
Love to see mouse at lower level, and bird above.
Fantastic series I watch with 6 of my granddaughters, thankyou for helping thier education, they now appreciate the tiny creatures existence ❤
Thank you for sharing this part of your life. I always enjoy these bits of life.
Also there are species of small creeping ferns which are epiphytic and would do very well on the waterfall.
just found your channel earlier this week for the first time, I'm now caught up with this serious, watched every episode, so sad that i now have to wait for uploads :c
This series is so fun and relaxing keep it up❤
I think you should be really proud of this channel you have really created something special. Not just the vivariums but the footage and the insights and knowledge you are sharing is so important. On so many levels. Thankyou for your hard work
P.s I've switched from falling asleep to true crime to falling asleep to your videos. Make of that what you will haha
P.p.s I dont want you to ship me ants I'm dying to raise praying mantis though!
wow it has been a year already, dang i lived all episodes and am really invested in this keep it up my man ❤
The sheer talent in making these videos, it's amazing. I actually wept for those last weaver ants hudled together waiting for whatever was to come. Incredible work. ❤
0:53 RIP Rock Steady. only the ogs will know

Cant wait for the next season, haven't missed the first one.
Funny to see those Bagworms, very cool disguise!
This is such a beautiful channel. So much of nature can go unseen or forgotten and just the beauty of it all and the passion that you have for all forms of life (except worms lol) is truly stunning to watch
