  • Jon talks about the premiere for “The Mandalorian,” getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Robert Downey Jr. putting gum on his star during the ceremony, bringing dinosaurs to life in his show “Prehistoric Planet” on Apple TV+, Jimmy’s nephew Wesley being in “The Mandalorian,” working on several different Star Wars shows at the same time, shooting two different options for the Iron Man post-credit sequence with Samuel L. Jackson, and he presents Jimmy with his very own Star Wars action figure.

    • @snerdterguson
      @snerdterguson Год назад +4

      Yeah, and that's why the number of truly great tv seasons was so tiny until HBO started the shorter season trend. Sopranos would have been just a good show if there were 22 episodes every season. It isn't a coincidence that the bulk of the greatest tv series ever are shows with seasons ranging from 6-13 episodes. GoT, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Sopranos, The Wire. Keeping the episode number down allows them to put more work into each one. It allows them to write a complete story without a ton of filler.

    • @snerdterguson
      @snerdterguson Год назад +7

      Adding an extra 10-15 minutes just to reach an arbitrary episode length is a terrible way to make tv. It is always better to just write the story and let that dictate the length of the episode.

    The inspiration for Jackson playing the Fury character comes from "The Utimates" comic book. The Utimates is a version of the Avengers that Marvel published in the early 2000s. In that series the Nick Fury character resembled Jackson. Previously the character looked like Peter Breck from "The Big Valley". The other Avengers were more grounded, and less heroic. Captain America, for example, is portrayed as a jingoistic jock.

    People can say whatever they want about Star Wars. I feel like the franchise is in good hands as long as Favreau and Feloni have, at the very least, a "decent" amount of creative control over where the whole story is going (not sure if you can say that in english. English isn't my mother tongue. Please feel free to correct me if my sentence didn't make much sense to you. Thank you in advance.) . As far as the people behind the most recent Star Wars material are concerned, keep up the great work!!!!

    He almost sounds like Robert Downey Jr 😂.. but wow ..such a cool guy. The mandalorian, in all honesty is one of those shows that are literal gems and may God bless Jon for making star wars world fun.
