Jon is such a legend. I hate to say he's underrated as a filmmaker and visionary in terms of using technology to make extremely immersive environments and realistic creatures but dude doesn't get the credit he deserves
Agreed! Jon appears well equipped for the digital age and, with his talent, he achieves amazing results!
I agree too. Hopefully with more TV appearances people will take the notice he deserves.
If he’s widely considered that way is he really underrated? Everyone who talks about him says he’s amazing. People don’t really asked to legend status in their own lifetime when we get the perspective to consider their entire career.
Rewatched Iron Man recently, and it's a great film. Sometimes, movies don't really hold up over time, but Iron Man is a solid story with an excellent cast. Bravo Favreau.
A classic now. But..."Myspace" and flip phones aged badly. That's all i can remember from the film.
Me too...
@@cuckoonut1208 how about Blackberry phones or tablets? Rotary phones and huge 8-track tapes were well known when I was growing up, people still like vinyl records over compact discs or mp3 music files...
@@cuckoonut1208 debatable, i think all old phones aged well... they were great for their time and as convenient as could be
Too bad Favreau didn't make anything half that good since then...
Jon is awesome. Kicked off The MCU And DisneyPlus Shows. Loved Mando S3 Premiere and can't wait for the rest.
He’s a legend who deserves a lot more credit and adoration than he gets
@@Pinkorchid72 Totally. Will love him to direct Avengers: Secret Wars.
I really enjoy watching his Harold Hogan character in the Tom Holland Spider Man movies, he can act as well as make great TV shows and movies for Marvel and Disney...
@@Roger709Bautista14 "spiderman movies" well he's actually from the iron man movies first
@@fielalmanga he was playing Tony Stark's driver, Happy Harold Hogan on the Iron Man and Spider-Man movies. He's one of the many movie and TV producers who can act, him and Dave Feloni...
Jon Favreau and Dave Filloni are the only ones who really capture the original spirit of Star Wars
Let's not forget Tony Gilroy with Andor (and the work he did on reshaping Rogue One). Some of the best Star Wars since the original trilogy.
I like how it also feels like you are with an rpg character going on quests, picking up upgrades and how everyone just wants your shiny armor!
Filoni redeemed the prequels with The Clone Wars animated series (sans the movie, though that did give us Ahsoka) and did a great job expanding the universe with Rebels. I feel very confident about any Star Wars properties in his and Favreau's hands.
@@Erawk I was so disappointed in the new clone wars series, the animation just felt off compared to Genndy Tartakovsky's version.
Ne magyarazz csavo!!
That Nick Fury outtake is priceless. The Mandalorian got off to a good start and I can't wait to see what happens next in Season 3.
Spoiler: not great. Feels like an OLD clone wars episode and not in any of the good ways.
@@Dudeman9339 not everything has to be 10/10. This Ep was a solid 8
Great episode, holy crap the dinosaur.. and they are so powerful together! Cool start IMO.
@brendenconner9686 0:18 0:29
@@oXRaptorzXoWhat was 8 about it? We already knew everything that was shown and the writing sucks deeply.
I have so much respect for Jon Favreau. When there were no movies to work on, he came up with live action, lion king, and made work for himself. 👏🏻
You’re joking, right?
@@TheWelchProductions no, he's trolling...
@@TheWelchProductions why would he?

Grogu using the force to spin the chair is the most world accurate things I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. We would have done it 😂
who else first thought the scene with Kimmel's son was a flash back scene and the boy was a young Mando? Well, until Mando come flying in... LOL
*Nephew
Yup. They knew exactly what they were doing. 😂
He should make rest of the Star Wars movies.
I can’t believe he gave us ELF and the Mandalorian ❤
And "Cowboys and Aliens" with Daniel Craig...
Favreau seems so warm and genuine. I find myself really admiring that guy right now, not simply for his incredible Marvel epic, but for also actually being a Human with passion for his world.
It's a dream of mine to meet him and talk with him about movies and how he's developed his work through the years. There aren't many famous people I admire, but Favreau is definitely one of them
Well said - and Jon skillfully blends his passions and focus.
He’s someone on my ‘invite to dinner’ list. Hypothetical but I wish.
What a legacy this man has created?!? Legend.
Omg I already loved Jon Favreau, but the fact that he had Sam Jackson film a Nick Fury shot saying Sam's well known "mother F...er" line is ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!!!
It's the kind of thing us long time fans were dying to see! ( it's the kinda thing if I were a director I'd totally take advantage of the opportunity to film such a thing, for my own personal outtakes of entertainment!!! Beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing this!!!!!!
i will always see Jon as Happy because iron man was my childhood
Marvel kicked off the second part of his career. The things he did before were also fantastic. Between swingers, the replacements, a recurring role on friends and let's not forget he brought us arguably the greatest Christmas movie Elf
CORRECTION: Jon Favreau kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe…
Also Chef, that was a great film too.
Love the film Swingers 💗
The Replacements is still one of my all time favorite movies.
eric the clown (seinfeld)
Seeing Jon Favreau’s name pop up in the credits after each Prehistoric Planet episode confirmed my observation that it was so clever and seamless in incorporating technology, he had to be involved. Brilliant.
he’s the ultimate cinema champion🎉 first Mando ep rocked!

Apart from Mandalorian... no?
The dinosaur show they are talking about is truly epic. The visual effects are way, way above anything we have ever seen in block buster movies even! And the narration from Sir Attenborough is so very iconic!! Highly recommend it.
The absolute highlight of the whole interview (which was littered with some real gems) was Favreau giving a nod to Patton Oswald's IMPROVISED manifesto on Parks and Rec. I think Favreau has been so successful in starting and reviving franchises because he is the perfect blend of true fan and talented craftsmen. Talk about game recognizing game.
I find it really amusing how Favreau is, first and foremost, a geek at heart with an incredible talent. It really shows he admires movies, TV shows, comic books etc with all of his passion
When he roasts Tom Holland for looking like a kid as well😂 11:36
It's always been astonishing the Jon Favreau came up with the mandalorian. Its awesome .
To think that he went from the loveable shlub in Swingers to this nerd renaissance man is just a wonderful arc to behold.
"Can you blow me where the pampers is" - PCU. Gutter is a great character! " Don't be that guy"
When clips appear like this is still gives me hope that we will eventually get to see the rumoured Luis (Ant-Man) Infinity Saga recap that is supposed to exist somewhere. I'd pay good money to see that!
This guy, he is so talented, a hidden gem right in front of us.:)
Thank you Jon for giving us hope and sticking to what made Star Wars so special
The one and only gripe I have with The Mandalorian, it’s too DAMN SHORT! Come on Jon, give us 45 to an hour episodes. We wait all week and still with the short episodes…
The length of the season bug me more. It was nice when a season was 22 episodes once upon a time...
Yeah, and that's why the number of truly great tv seasons was so tiny until HBO started the shorter season trend. Sopranos would have been just a good show if there were 22 episodes every season. It isn't a coincidence that the bulk of the greatest tv series ever are shows with seasons ranging from 6-13 episodes. GoT, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Sopranos, The Wire. Keeping the episode number down allows them to put more work into each one. It allows them to write a complete story without a ton of filler.
Adding an extra 10-15 minutes just to reach an arbitrary episode length is a terrible way to make tv. It is always better to just write the story and let that dictate the length of the episode.
@Deep Cut Reactions nonsense
I think the last episodes will be longer
the hyperspace scene was sooo epic, can't wait for more setting up Ahsoka...
His reaction to Jimmy having that was brilliant 🤣 great guy!
I've been a fan of Jon's since his role in Seinfeld. He's been in this industry for so long, and he just keeps getting better and better. Love him so much! Keep staying awesome, Jon!
Love people who do things just because it's fun. Those are the things that become iconic priceless pieces. Keep having fun Favreau!!
love the started expression followed up with, "wait, how did you get that?" then Kimmel just nods as if to say we have our ways
Jon is fantastic I fell in love with him in PCU and have been so happy to see him shine brighter all the time. Love me some Happy also. ❤❤This is the way!!😂
:) me smiling ear to ear that they shared that clip with us after all these years.
Thank you Jon Favreau and Dave Filloni you two are both saviors of the story that we all love so much
Jon Favreau. He's been entertaining me my whole life. From acting in movies like Rudy to making movies like Elf and Iron man. Now making the Mandalorian. I love this guy.
Jon Favreau, thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful contributions to Marvel and more important -Star Wars. Such a joy to watch! 👏👏👏👍🛸💪
I wonder if Jon is aware of how much he has contributed to pop culture over the past 10+ years.
I can only imagine what it's like to play in the universes he's a part of.
I digress. A priceless take...Sams infamous line? Priceless. A worthy indulgence.
I remember when Jon Favreau was on Friends as Monica’s rich boyfriend & the movie, The Replacements. Ever since then when I see he’s either in a movie or behind the scenes, I know it’s going to be phenomenal. The man is brilliant!
Jon is a genuine diamond in the sands of Hollywood
More of Kimmels nephew. He was badass in his scene. This is the way
Jimmy you came through again, I was constipated for weeks but when I saw your face it caused instant relief.
Patton is in the mcu too as modok!!! Such a small circle lol. And his parks and rec ad lib was incredible
Great interview! I’m going to rewatch seasons one and two again before starting season three. Love the Mandalorian❤️
I'm so impressed by this man. He started out in comedy. Comedy. He has an incredible mind.
When is Jon, and Roy, going to make a volume four of the Cheff Show? I loved learning how to make those great recipes from "The Cheff."
I love Jon Favreau!! Happy for his success
I see what you did there...
When they started talking about Sam Jackson, I thought Jimmy was going to ask Favreau if we might see Sam Jackson on the Mandalorian as Mace Windu who prob managed to survive his fall after his fight with Palpatine and Anakin cutting his arm off but he managed to make it back to the Jedi temple to rescue and hide Grogu before Order 66.
That would be cool. It would p*ss off soo many star wars fans though. But I think it's a cool story. The problem with all these Jedi who survived is...... where are they in the OT and prequels? Either they die before the OT, or they are out hiding/don't want to be involved, which would be weird.
@@emu_warrioror they are involved and we don’t know about it the galaxy is a big place in Star Wars bud.
Darth Maul survived being cut in half falling down a shaft, Mace could have survived.
My college roommate's favorite movie was Swingers and we would pop the cassette in at least once/month. Talk about living the dream!
What the MCU needs is a Swingers cross over!
I could see Iron Man saying, "Like f'n House of Pain was gonna do anything?"
One of the most crucial people in this industry
Jon Favreau is such a good dude. Good actor, great director. His love and passion for both the Marvel & Star Wars franchises is great.
Love him so much! Wish they talked about him filming Swingers. Seriously one of my favorite films.
Hes so money and he doesn't even know it.
Jon Favreau seems like he would be a good friend to have. Such a talented guy. Thx&see ya😁
“Get the ball!!” Still love his work in The replacements.
Patton's filibuster is legendary!!! I swear they literally took the whole concept of reviving Boba Fett from that speech 🤣
Damn. Jimmy's been getting good guests the past few weeks!
“Well 4 if you count BOBF”, sounds to me like a 2nd season is coming…
Everyone has a friend that reminds us of Favreau, the guy that knows an unlimited amount of information. 😊
Yh you are right
You from California?
I did not expect a second series of Prehistoric Planet!
Jon should be the go to authority on every star wars and Marvel project from here on out. Just do what he says, it always seems to be great.
The inspiration for Jackson playing the Fury character comes from "The Utimates" comic book. The Utimates is a version of the Avengers that Marvel published in the early 2000s. In that series the Nick Fury character resembled Jackson. Previously the character looked like Peter Breck from "The Big Valley". The other Avengers were more grounded, and less heroic. Captain America, for example, is portrayed as a jingoistic jock.
one of the lynchpins of arguably the greatest ongoing run in the hisitory of cinema
This guy is a genius !!!
Everything he touches turns to gold !!
This is the guy I want to see direct Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars
That Patton Oswalt on Parks and Rec rant is absolutely golden, and completely improvised!!
jon is the ideal director to look up to, he loved making his projects i can only hope i enjoy my job a much as he does
Love favreau n Filoni , keepin Star Wars alive !!
An incredible rise by jon from swingers and a buddy in I love you man to being the reason for the mcu success and Disney+ success
Incredible actor, director, producer, gormond and seemingly person
Definitely love watching Mandalorian! The new episode was awesome 👏 👏
Can't wait to see it!!! I don't have Disney + , so I'm either gonna have to watch it at my mom's, or BEG her to let me use her account!
Jon Favreau is a genius, really. His work in both Marvel and Star Wars has been astounding, I'm really thrilled with the new season of The Mandalorian!!
This man is a genius and great actor. I love him in the movies Iron Man and Couples Retreat.
I mean Favreau was Happy & he just had faith where so many didn't. Even if he doesn't always get it perfect, the Star Wars is still fun
That prehistoric nature program sounds amazing 😲😲
What a legacy that man has ? An absolutely mind-boggling body of work
Bro that scene is gonna be internet gold
Literal legend
I absolutely LOVE Jon Favreau, and I feel like he would just be a really nice guy all around. I hope to meet and maybe even become friends with him someday.
Favreau and Filloni restored my hope for today's current writing.
Love him in the Chef show. He loves food. ❤️
It's official we now need Robert Downey jr. On sneaker shopping with complex
Every time I see him, I just hear Vince Vaughn on the table in Swingers yelling "your growns up" at him.
People can say whatever they want about Star Wars. I feel like the franchise is in good hands as long as Favreau and Feloni have, at the very least, a "decent" amount of creative control over where the whole story is going (not sure if you can say that in english. English isn't my mother tongue. Please feel free to correct me if my sentence didn't make much sense to you. Thank you in advance.) . As far as the people behind the most recent Star Wars material are concerned, keep up the great work!!!!
i really want that action figure of John Favreau...looks so cool 🥳
He almost sounds like Robert Downey Jr 😂.. but wow ..such a cool guy. The mandalorian, in all honesty is one of those shows that are literal gems and may God bless Jon for making star wars world fun.
“The truth is… I am Iron Man.”
Favreau is my fav director. I plan to meet him one day.
I remember John when he was in the replacement player when Gene Hackman and Keanu Reeves that's my favorite movie
Its my dream to wear armor and do stunts, then direct cinema changing action movies.
Jon you are a true inspiration. would look forward to Creating with you one day perhaps.
It’s so nice that Jon Favreau is being introduced as a legend. He deserves it!
Samuel J said stop playing with me you know my name😂
That was an awesome freaking outtake with Nick Fury? I'm glad I saw that one. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Jon Favreau is a national treasure.
Now that I have watched this post credit take I don’t know if I ever want to watch the one that was actually released.
I love Jon Favreau ❤️ great guest
Prehistoric planet is awesome. TOO FEW EPISODES. MORE PLEASE.
Star Wars The Bad Batch, LOVE IT.
