Mavuika is a weird combination of high power and low value. She somehow brings a lot to the table, but manages to be entirely skippable for a lot of players.
She's absolutely busted, but I am afraid they might raise the ceiling in Abyss hugely to match her, which will suck for everyone who didn't pull for her~

as someone who didn't have Nahida or Furina until their rerun, both archons were a DRAMATIC shift in clear times for me. It's was kind of painful seeing my clear times drop like a rock
What's the difference between flexible teams and non optimal team because I'm pretty sure people who use rosaria with Mavuika still does alot of damage with her 😂 but it's not the same for arle remove benette and she's cooked😂
I think Alice is gonna be either a Pyro Support or a Off-Field DPS since i dont see then releasing any new On-Field Pyro DPS for the next 2 years at least. I just hope she can be used together with Klee for a Mother and Daughter Duo
I have her at c0. I’m currently running c0 Mavuika, c1 Emilie, c0 Raiden for off field dps, then can throw Clorinde, Yanfei, or Mona for great reaction teams. No need for other Natlan characters.
I play Xbox so I haven’t been able to pull for Nathan characters and I’ve done just fine with kachina and mavuika people make it seem like she’s unplayable without xilonen but her ult charges pretty fast just throw down kachinas skill and used mavuika skill and your ult will be charged pretty quickly
Don't trust the rumors, she can work just fine with one Kachina too. She's worth pulling for because of the sub dps capabilities and as a cinder city holder too imo.
i genuinely hope nightsoul is the last restrictive team building gimmick because its so fomo reliant and stretches f2p players super thin. Until theres a natlan 5 star on standard (currently the 4 stars nightsoul consumption is notably slower than 5 stars) mavuikas going to be an expensive unit to play comfortably. arlecchinos biggest pro over mavuika is that arle is incredibly easy to team build with and can use so many f2p friendly units AND arle is super comfortable to play and easy to build. mavuika is incredibly strong but definitely a unit better for dolphin and whale players for now. obviously if someone really likes her saving for xilonen and citlali will be worth it for them.
Your mistake is that you compare Arle at the moment when she has all the possible support with Mavuika, who came out a few days ago. Obviously, the new character may not have quality support. But over time, she will acquire the same number of units for more flexible teams. We are in the middle of Natlan, and no one knows what the new characters will be like after him. So it is too early to make such conclusions. Imagine if Arle came out at a time when there was no Zhongli, Furina, Kazuha or Yelan in the game, she would be the same trash and would fight with Xiangling for the right to have Bennett.
Hoyo knows that by making restrictive team shenanigans they will sell more like what hsr does all the time with the archetypes. NodKrai and Snezhnaya will obviously have that night soul mechanic too
@@joeltoomer3332 Immersion is a big selling point for Genshin players. Gotta be honest, Muavika's design represents Natlan very little and her motorcycle really pulls me out of the experience.
Yeah, I genuinely think she's one of the worst visually designed characters in the game, for me the bike isn't even the biggest problem, but rather her clothes. The biker aesthetic feels totally out of place.
Nightsoul's mechanic is not going to last forever, so yes, once new regions/characters/kits/mechanics are released, Mavuika is not going to be as good as now. This is my personal opinion. And the team restriction for her is really annoying for me too, because I like switching characters in teams and trying different comps, or I get easily bored otherwise. Always using the same team to make her use her full potential is quite annoying too. I get bored after a while, always using the same characters and seeing the same things over and over again. So yeah, I agree. She is very strong and cool as for now but I don't know about the future.
@paulolugo7447 yes but only Natlan's characters have it, and it's not like they are going to release a Natlan's character every patch/month or whatever. So this mechanic will become outdated eventually, this is what I meant, but it's just my opinion.
Same idea. Lots of people that don’t understand this concept, I really can’t understand why. When Natlan will be over Mavuika won’t have an enrichment of the possible teams as Hu Tao did, for example. She’s forever tied to Xilo/Citlali, stop. When in Snezhnya we’ll have a new shiny support it won’t be working with Mavuika! She’s good now but unless they make the gimmick in Snezhnya work with fighting spirits Mavuika will die in Natlan

How meta-defining ? Not much. She's the best DPS but she basically only has 1 team, so she's not changing the meta as much as Xilonen, Furina or Xianyun did. She can replace Xiangling, sure. But that's only a side-grade for most teams at best, so she's not really changing the team. Citlali on the other hand ... She basically makes a new team archetype viable. She's the one wrecking the boat.
She’s not a side grade for Xiangling, she’s a massive upgrade & she’s not even at 10 talent yet since the rewards are weekly. C2 Mauvika at talent 7 is already better than C6 Xianling at talent 10, plus Mauvika can only get better with more Natlan characters coming out. So she’s arguably the best DPS, the best fire support & the by far best exploration unit. She’s broken.
@@therealoskargd7428 she does, it's hypercarry Mavuika. You can play into other teams, but every time it's a side-grade and more often than not, you get a better DPS by giving your main-DPS a support set and weapon and using Mavuika on field. Rip Wrio, never thought I would see him played with TTDS and Instructor but that genuinely deals more damage with Mavuika involved 🤯 Or course Citlali > Wrio is that case, but still, it's true for many DPS like Arle, Lyney, Chasca, Clorinde. They're just not worth their field time if you have Mavuika in the team. Heck even Navia becomes a great quick-swap Sub-DPS with her E, doesn't help that they both want Xilonen and Bennett. It's like saying "I'll play a Razor aggravate team with Raiden sub-DPS to apply damage off-field with her ring." Raiden could do the job better, Except that Raiden isn't too good in aggravate, whereas Mavuika is great for vape and melt.
as someone who simply doesn't like natlan characters and who also doesn't like feeling forced to play someone i don't like in order for a dps to work, she'll most likely be a skip... the only reason why i would get her potentially is for overworld exploration (but then it's a waste of primos)
I truly hate the nightsoul mechanics. That’s why the only natlan character I pulled was xilonen (for my neuvi). It’s just annoying when characters HAVE to be in certain teams to reach their full potential. Where’s the fun in that? IMHO, and maybe I’m wrong, it’s just a cheap way to get people to spend on characters they wouldn’t otherwise go for. You like mavuika? That’s fine but if you want her to really shine pull for these two/three other specific five stars. I’m not one to complain usually, but this is such a blatantly manipulative way to make feel like they need certain characters.
I have c0r1 arle and c1r1 mav, along with what are currently their ceiling teams. While it’s very satisfying seeing the big nuke dmg number, in practice, my clear times for both are very similar and I really value the rotation flexibility that characters like arle (and neuv) provide. My main dislike is the burst reliance for mav that feels like raiden 2025 edition. It seems that hyv either intentionally moved toward more restrictive rotations with their Natlan carries and supports, or backed themselves into that corner with the nightsoul point mechanics, which is why I really understand commenters that don’t like natlan characters. TLDR pull who you like, not for meta
Mavuika c6 damage wise is the best however saying that she has the best c6 I will disagree yes her c6 gives damage and (exploration kinda better) the best c6 should be furina because she just basically fit on every team because she fills the role as a healer and buffer while having a great sub dps
I agree, when a lot of others compare her to the pyro archon, they forget that mauvika premium team is all 5 star supports mostly new characters, xilonen, citlali and whoever last to buff A raiden premium team is c6 Sara, a kazuha or chevruze c6 and a Bennett. She gets 1 5 star support. Imagine electro related 5 star supports as a full team for raiden. Man that would be busted
@@initiald6104 Yeah Electro doesn't have a lot of support character outside of dendro and pyro (thanks to Chevreuse). (I don't mention Furina because she works with everyone.). For Mavuika, people can say whatever they want, she does not shine without the support characters you just mentioned. She is very expensive to build.

Tbh she wasn't as meta defining as I would like She is just kinda another Pyro DPS with off field capabilities The only DPSes she significantly buffs imo is Wrio, Clorinde, Ganyu, Mono Pyro Lyney and Kinich They also have some problems too. Ganyu can overpower the Pyro aura. Mono Pyro isn't the best Lyney team. And Mauvuika eats into Bennetts buff and can't consistently trigger scroll past the first rotation (Kinich) Sure she's good with Maulani and Navia but she's kinda restrictive preventing characters like Candace from being played. And she's not particularly outstanding with Navia either Her kit design is also flawed. HOYO can never make another Pyro DPS. (They will straight up either powercreep or be worse than Mauvuika). Mauvuika's shelf life is also tied to the amount of Natlan supports they release in the future etc

She heavily improved on low cost Eula teams, Cyno became (almost) playable, Klee became good (Was one of the top characters in low cost speedruns). Let me give a list of non (top) meta teams that were made good/gained a lot of relevance by Furina. Klee, Eula, Xiao, Raiden, Cyno, Lyney, Wriothesley, C6 Dori
I planned out my wishes since Emilie released specifically to maximise Kinich's future potential and BOY did it pay off. Like you showcased, the Emilie+Mav+Bennet core for Kinich is just BUSTED, and burn finally got the meta team it deserves. Couldn't be happier to see another Archon live up to their namesake!
@@shiney4ever4 yes! Ideally you want Emilie on the burning set, Mav on scrolls, Kinich on Codex and then Bennet on deepwood, but you can also give Emilie deepwood and Bennet his regular artifacts to maximise Bennet circle buff :)
One thing everyone is forgetting to mention, while Mavuika does need natlan characters they all get their artifacts from a single domain. Which happens to be broken. Natlan teams are very resin efficient in this aspect.

Natlan is currently the first nation that only has 1 artifact domain, and only useable by Natlan characters. Both artifacts require nightsoul blessing so if you only have 1 Natlan character (let's say Mavuika), that domain only benefits 1 natlan character out of the 84 non-natlan characters. Maybe you are the one misinterpreting my sentence.
It would be good to know how good her C1 is in terms of "Natlan independency" maybe her C1 and just one Natlan character will make her more "durable", if her damage output is much higher than Arlechino, that limitation wouldn´t be as big as to pull for Arlecchino just because she´s less dependent on region specific characters.
For ppl who had c1 or c2 mavuika u can run her alone no need for natlan characters. U can charge her fighting spirit in just 1-2 second by just summoning flamestrider and turbo it ramming the enemies. This only works if there are 2-3 enemies nearby close. If there's more enemies it will be even faster to recharge it. I discovered this will using her during exploration. When my fs is 0 i tried summoning flamestrider and do spin,normal hit it seems a bit slower but still fast. But when i turbo it couple of times ramming enemies, her fs full to 200 max less than 1,2 seconds. Idk if this were a bug or something. Idk how fast her fs will be charged by doing this method, but doing this trick is significantly fast af to charged her fs. If i do it traditionally by hitting with flamestrider or doing donut spin i need like 4-5 second to max it 200 fs. By doing the ramming method only 1-2 seconds to maxed her fs which is considerably faster. If someone had c0 please give it a try i wanna know how much difference it makes.
All hate against mavuika is unreasonable fr... u need specific characters to push her to the maximum damage potential? Sure, but u can also just pull for xilonen and u would be good... just run her with kaeya + rosaria... Xiangling power crept finally? YES!! With decent enough fire application Only thing i would say is yea she isnt exactly bennet level buffer ( which is a bit disappointing) but then again just run em both no??
I just want you to understand that this combo is going to stand the test of time. Why? Because you do not need any ER on her, so you can focus your stats much more on every piece. I do not foresee this team being powercrept for several years that is if you have the premium variant. This is just a route they are going with, if you have the premium version you can probably play it until the end. Why they do it this way is because people want to be able to choose what they like to play and not feel forced to pull for the newest toy.
After seeing someone clear the current abyss easily with 2 teams of 3 4☆ characters. All of then weren't C6 with 3 and 4☆ weapons. I'm convinced that a meta doesn't exist. Team 1: Sucrose C6 Sac Frag, Beidou C6 Favonius great sword, Xingqui C6 Sac Sword. Team 2: Fischl C5 stringless, Kirara C2 fav sword, Sethos C2 slingshot.
Curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brough it back. I went to look for the video, found it and I'm amazed. Though the Cons were a bit different, C6 Kirara and Fischl, C1 Sethos. I'm 100% convinced.

I have done some 4☆ clears. But you better believe some of them are using 5☆ weapons if I got them. I'm also not a very good planner. So instead of it being an elegant dance, it looks more like someone cutting down a tree with a sledge hammer.😅

Like I don't have the skill to know all the intricacies of these abyss bosses and such? Fine. If I learn I could handle it better, especially because I do have 5 star weapons as options. Like my Sethos is C3 and has Aqua Simulacra. I could learn how to big brain DPS him for sure. And I have a Baizhu I can add to the team. I could do better. And that's why I've been convinced.
I'd argue arlecchino Is an equal dps to mavuika, due to qol and comfort, as well as their respective niches, mavuika feels more like a nuke and go ham within a tight rotation, while arle feels more sustained and consistent rotation wise, it's not necessarily the overall damage numbers for me.
They are definitely not equal dps as mavuika multipliers is high while arlechino burst is a dps loss.. Obsidian artifact is also very OP 15% dmg and 40% cr unconditionally for any natlan units Assuming they both uses citlali + xilonen, arlecchino needs multiple NA melts to even out a single mavuika burst... Exploration is also in mavuika's favor as you can use her bike continuously for 7s after burst which can be charged with xilonen E
I am assuming Xilonen will re-run really soon. It would be nuts if not. They should have run three banners so the skippers could have another chance on such an important character. Xilonen was a must-pull for me at the time, so I don't have an issue.

i play her with 0 Natlan characters, Kazuha Bennett Furina, she still hits 500k plus easy, she gets her own burst back ridiculously easily all you gotta do is use her normals after a few charged ones W/ Xilonen she’s obviously better but she’s not needed at all, w/out her she’s still going to hit the same numbers as every other top dps
Pulled mavuika and luckily citlali too. Her burst is very strong, so if you want big numbers she's good at that, however for her 2nd rotation filling up her burst takes time even with citlali. So it depends if you are willing to wait for her burst everytime. As for her off field damage, it is also good but there are a lot of substitute charac for pyro application. If you are a free to play and newbie, citlali is probably better or even arlecchino.
Just had a thought (a copium thought) maybe they released so many pyro main dos chars up until now so they won’t have to power creep the pyron for a while and just not release any new ones
I think the best thing Hoyo can do to fix Mavuika longevity is to create a Nightsoul generating Artifact set for non-natlan characters in the later patches for supports to use. Something that generates 60 nightsoul on skill and another 60 on burst; with a consumption of 20 night soul a second while on field. This could generate 120 NS for Mavuika in 6 seconds. For Natlan characters its won't give NS but it could give some dam % or atk or something so its not totally useless on natlan characters either.
I cant tell whether this would be a good or bad artifact set. On one hand, you get to extend the nightsoul duration, and extra buff for non-nightsoul based characters. But on the other hand, their nightsoul are capped, and and some might not even get a buff out of it.
I honestly got Citlali over her for this reason- she wasn’t as supportive as I hoped she would be and is more a DPS. A DPS I can’t use as well because I don’t have Xilolen. I’m curious to see future DPS’s compete with her numbers as time goes on- especially Skirk
"won't get powercrept for at least a year" But here's the problem. Is this really worth one of the only 4-5 five star characters I can get in a whole year? Hu Tao barely became powercrept after what, 3 years? and still 5 years after her release she's still holding up in the meta even if she's clearly not the strongest, still feels very good to play in both low and medium investment teams. There are clearly some characters that will hold on better from powercreep, like Chiori that will become much stronger in Snezhnaya, Citlali when it's obvious Hoyo's cooking some eventual characters to take even better advantage of her buffs, Navia when more universal cryo buffers will be released (very likely in Snezhnaya). And you can already destroy the game with any of them, on top of the fact they'll hold on to the meta for much longer (at least most likely, not guaranteed but still) Keep your primos for characters you'll really vibe with, they'll continue with their powercreep so you don't need Mavuika's damage as long as you can still beat the abyss for the rewards, or that you wanna speedrun it.
I'm with you there. People usually overestimate the difficulty of genshin's endgame, like, why worry about powercreep when you can clear abyss with every character as long as you have good investment in them? It's way more fun to play who you like after all
@@Guttins Woirse than that. They're still pigeonholing Venti, Ganyu, Ayaka, Mona... At the time, yes they were so strong it was almost unfair. But with the amount of powercreep recently, there'd be nothing to worry about even if bosses were freezable, Ganyu and Ayaka wouldn't even be able to make them as trivial as Mavuika does. Hoyo just wants to make older metas die out to sell newer characters. Fair enough, but I don't want people to close their eyes and look the other way.
the thing is, there's a lot of busted 4* supports in the game, but as for DPS, you would want a DPS that can actually carry your team unless you wanna waste your resources on 4* DPS's. Not everyone has Hu Tao, Lyney, Arlecchino. I dunno why people always assume that everyone has good DPS units. Having multiple DPS units Now ain't a bad thing specially with Imaginarium theater out, where you need a good DPS for each element
@@AnneYoungHaseyo Very valid argument. Everyone needs a few dps. However, I threw more than 6000 resin at my Ayaka's artefacts, got Shenhe. I got Ganyu and a c2 Kazuha to use her melt playstyle. Now, all these 6 copies of five star characters are completely useless because they can't even clear the abyss, they're only there for the Theater i guess. Which is very frustrating, I hadn't had the time to use them for very long before it happened. Maybe everyone needs to experience this firsthand, but I know for sure I'm personally never pulling for a character that's gonna get irrelevant in a year or two. It uses so much resin, resources, brainpower to think of making a fun team you enjoy, considering constellations, weapons, everything... I want it to last its worth somewhat and not have to throw even more primos in just to keep them afloat.
if mauika gets powercrept, all other characters will be powercrept even harder, so you'll just be hoarding your wishes forever with that mentality just pull for whatever character you enjoy and have fun with the game (that's the point of a game in the first place) i skipped arlechino for clorinde and it's easily one of the best decisions i've made
arle and lyney and hu tao can technically get more supports as time goes on. mavuika cant bc of nightsoul. so like shes an easy skip for me bc she cant work optimally without (optimally) two limited five stars.

I do agree that Mavuika is amazing for Kinich, but I'm really struggling to proc Cinder City with dendro bonus without Emilie or another dendro support. I missed Sumeru, so i don't have any dendro supports. I've been running Zhongli in 4th slot, but Mavuika keeps proccing geo bonus for Cinder City rather than dendro. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in my rotation, but I can't figure out how to reliably get a dendro proc with Cinder City.
if you have to you can slot in collei instead of Emilie if you don't have her or yao yao if you have her. so a kinich, mavuika, yoa yao, bennett team would probably be fine you just need to make sure one person has a deepwood set on because that will always be one of the best support builds for any and every dendro unit. it's a little more difficult but is doable and to consistently get the cinder city proc you essentially just have to proc dendro before pyro in most cases and it will allow cinder city to activate. it's difficult but the damage increase is immense. My kinich went from doing maybe 150-160k to well over 200k with that plus mavuika's dmg bonus.
The only problem could be that you have another pyro in the team that applies pyro to the enemy and kinich's dendro starts burning with this pyro. Adjust your rotation or place zhongli construct in a way that it triggers crystallize with the pyro auro of the 2nd pyro to clear it. In the 2nd rotaion against one enemy you have to use Zhongli to kill the burning auro on the enemy with geo (skill and burst).
@Swing-q7x my other pyro unit is Bennett, so that wouldn't be the issue. It's that I'm running deep woods on Zhongli to proc the dendro res shred, but the geo aura is too strong and making mav proc crystallize. I like the comfort of the shield but might need to pivot off so mav can proc burning for Cinder City
@8:30 I'm one of those people. Mavuika is my first and only Natlan character except Kachina. I did try to get Xilonen even though that time I didnt know about Mavuika kit but got Keqing instead. I hope I can still get Citlali this patch and then continue to save for cons and weapon for Father and Lady Furina.
Well the main point I think is that they want (or more like would prefer), but the don't need them. Not everyone has the best units for the best team. Other characters could use Kazuha, Sucrose or any other anemo unit instead of Xilonen. If you don't have Citlali you could use Rosaria, Kaeya, Diona, Layla etc. So while Citlali and Xilonen would be the best teammates, you could still clear with less valuable units. Meanwhile Mavuika needs at least one of the two because most of her dmg comes from her burst and she by herself would take too long to charge it.
@@NiramBG Mavuika doesnt need them either.... Mavuika does enough damage that even her cope teams are more than good enough to stand toe to toe with other meta teams.
People keep saying Xilonen is a must-pull for Mavuika, and sure, that might be true if you don't have Citlali. But really, Citlali is so much more important for Mavuika than Xilonen. If you could only pick one; Either Citlali or Xilonen for a Mavuika team, i think Citlali is the way to go 100% of the time. One of the reasons is because Xilonen can easily be replaced by Sucrose, which not only shreds more RES, she also buffs EM by 200 which is HUGE for melt, and can hold TTDS for another huge buff of 48% ATK. Finding a replacement that can keep up with Citlali is significantly harder. Sure you can try Rosaria, but do you really want to deal with Circle Impact.. and besides that, she offer no meaningful buffs for Mavuika. Citlali can use TTDS and shred 20% RES, its hard to find a replacement for that. Go cook up a Melt team, choose one between Citlali and Xilonen and then tell me what you think. From my experience, the Citlali team outperforms the Xilonen team every single time. And it needs to be a Melt team, because no other Mavuika team even comes close to melt performance.
As good as Mavuika is I think they absolutely missed the mark with her as an archon, I don't feel like "yes, I absolutely did the right thing when wishing for her, this unlocks so many characters/playstyles", I just feel like she's a strong unit that is a slightly stronger side-grade to some other characters, she doesn't add anything of value to the game, you could skip her and nothing would really change, she's just either on-field damage similar to Arle, or she's off-field and most of the time a bit better than Xiangling, but she doesn't dominate a niche like the other archons (raiden is having slight problems right now but with hyperbloom and C2-3 raiden you still have teams that each does something special). I'm happy with her as a general genshin character, but as an archon she's disappointing.
The problem with disgruntled commentators is that they are impatient. They want everything at once. When Kazuha came out, he was doused with shit because he did not meet the expectations of the players. They wanted something else. You say: Mavuika is an archon, unlike Nilou. And what does that change? Mavuika is primarily a DPS character, which means she should be evaluated as a character, and not in terms of a status or title that people artificially assign importance to. But since you want to talk about archons, how is Venti doing? For some reason, he is considered an exception to the powercreep in Genshin. Everyone has come to terms with the fact that he is trash and useless, but why? He is an archon. An archon should be broken. Why isn't Venti broken like Nahida and Furina? Think about this when you evaluate Mavuika as an archon. What actual benefit is Raiden? Her status is useless and even hurts teams like Eula hypercarry. But no one calls him useless, considering that most of the time he sits on the bench and only comes out on holidays. Nahida is limited by dendro teams Furina is limited to healers and she destroys your team faster than the most formidable enemy. Archons have always been overrated. These are the same characters, only with their own trick that does not always remain relevant and valuable.

As someone who didn't pull on father's first banner & who doesn't own Hu tao i couldn't be more happier with this character huge damage great AOE & a great support nothing but potential in the future.❤
HoYoverse could still release Natlan-characters in Snezhnaya who could synergize well with Mavuika. For instance, we will get Mizuki from Inazuma and Yanlan from Liyue in the next few patches, while we are in Natlan.
As a cusual player, I would say she is still is a great pull. I lost my 50/50 on both Xilonen and Citlali banners, so I am forced to use Kachina as a battery. I am surely doing not the best damage without Xilonen and Citlali but it's still 200k vaporize nuke as a burst. Also she makes climbing and dashing so much faster during exploration even outside Natlan. The exploration comfort itself is enough reason to pull for her.
I have C1R1 Mav in her BiS team (Citlali, Xilonen & Benny), and while I haven't quite hit the 1M dmg mark yet, I'm still doing like 900k bursts before doing sick burnouts on the enemy's face. While I do wish she was also a replacement for Benny, she's really performed as well as I'd hoped. I knew she'd be an expensive DPS, which is why I've been saving primo's for her/Citlali for about 3-4 months. She's worth every single one imo.
Mam, i love it when you refer Xilonen as Dj cat. It reminds me of certain meme where owner cries over her cat being lost meanwhile cat parties to its fullest. Its the same for c0 mavuika,since without that dj cat. she feels the need of the catt but that exact dj cat shines in this case parties on all typa teams iut there.
I feel for now she will definitely be the star of the show but her c1 will probably be a good pick on her rerun since it does allow for less restrictions
Idk why ppl are so worried about being powercrept. Most likely there won't be a pyro dps for a while now that three have released since Fontaine. Also Raiden just barely got power crept as the number 1 main dps electro unit by Chlorinde at the very late patches of Fontaine.(2.2-4.7) I'd say mavuika is safe for a while
The limit to the Natlan characters seems like they're only super busted with each other. It seems like they tried to make Fontaines characters balanced around their Ousia/Pneuma only being effective on specific mobs, but they're still good with other characters and other mobs.
I actually don’t see a super clean way to powercreep her. She’s sort of saved by the fact that Xilonen is the best generalist support in the game, so you’re not giving anything up by using her and it keeps the other two slots open for stronger supports in the future. It would take Xilonen getting powercrept for Mav to be in danger of falling off
I will be skipping because the motorcycle pulls me out of my immersion even more than other Natlan characters have. Plus, I am having stupid amounts of fun with my shiny new Lyney and have been referencing your videos as I build him. I never thought I would have fun with an aimed shot DPS until Tighnari and especially Lyney. Now I might go for Ganyu, get all the charged shot DPS 👀
I pulled Mavuika even though I never pulled for any other Natlan region characters, but I pair her with pyro traveler and it's pretty decent at recharging her ult.
5:39 as a certified neuvilete enjoyer... his "team damage" is not even close to mauika's. only if you consider DPR without realizing that his rotations are 6s longer than hers 6:49 people seem to forget that raiden wasn't even close to the dps ceiling when she came out... her hypercarry team was below national before c2, and even then she wasn't significantly ahead of the cryo ladies 8:19 the people who skipped xilonen have enough to get citlali, which is a far better suport for mauika. i don't even run xilonen with my mauika because she's a bigger increase for neuvilete and she's clearing current abyss chambers in 30-40s. as for claiming that "being stuck with citlali is a bad thing", how many characters have been stuck with kazuha for the past 3 years..? "venti might not work 90% of the time, but he's still functional" what..? making furina "obsolete" isn't that difficult though. arlechino and mualani don't want her on their teams, and mauika's best team also doesn't use her
I skipped every Nathan character to save for her and when I found out she NEEDS xilonen I unfortunately switched to pulling for arle. I ended up getting her anyway at 30 pity lmao
Two problems with this, the nightsoul restriction might be the start of restrictive gimmicks, and two having insane characters like this will raise the ceiling for end game content like Spiral Abyss and it will be hell for other players (like the recent 5.2 abyss).
I do not know what are you talking about. Im a long standing Cocogoat player. Xiangling is still better in both damage output and pyro application. When her energy problem is solved, she applies pyro fast with no ICD. Really, are you serious?
8:45 now that u said think about it, i just realized that it totally makes sense mavuika is tied to a natlan character gameplaywise (& citlali lorewise), she is not even a real archon shes the 1st regular human thats holding a gnosis. imo this is almost a foreshadowing of her being powercrept very soon even
She's exactly what I wanted. I am in the minority cuz I use her as a full on support lol. She is perfect and 100% worth your primos cuz you can't ask for a better sub dps for your wrio
I think Mavuika will age quite well all things concidered. She is at the moment the strongest DPS in game in terms of pure dmg. If she is powercrept, then so are 99% of the current dps units. And even then, she still is good as a sub DPS / off field pyro unit. Hoyo actualy did something quite smart: If you have her c1, she does not need another nightsoul unit as badly. Having Xilo or Citlali is great, but you get 150 points per 18s rotation plus points from NA´s. So she can work with future supports if you pull her c1. She also is a lot more fun to play than i thought, because of the way she controls during her doughnuts.
Love the character but did really need to give her a dps role when pyro already have so many. Her sub DPS feel stapled on, like they didn't want it to be even more reliable than xiangling.
wouldnt a chasca, mavuika, citlali and ig furina work? like furina switch from healing and dmg from time to time or instead of furina yae miko or smth. even if she has the highest team, she is just another top dps kinda because arl and lyney still is more than usable in the endgame so having the status best of already good is cool but overall, it isnt huge. her numbers impress dont get me wrong but if they would have lean to more support and sub dps, that would have been way better cause thats what we are missing from a 5 star pyro
Well the fact that mavuika can reach damage cap reliably with C6 R5 mean she can't be powercrept in terms of pure damage, what we've got in Natlan is characters with insane vertical investment plans so that they can't get immediately powercrept by the next region, what I forsee is that the characters on the tsaritsas realm will have higher floors than that of Natlan but their vertical investment will be normalized to match or not exceed Natlans, think about how often does a support like Citlali can offer it's dps an increase as significant as the own dps cons? Other than maybe furina who is an archon I can't think of any up the top of my head (5 stars of course)
This would mean that for someone invested on mavuika, instead of getting more new supports they can just get Xilonen or citlalis cons and match whatever the current meta is when the time comes
I think she wont age well due to her nightsoul restrictions because other characters will eventually get buffed with future realses but i think mavuika have already peaked unless they make a 5star Bennett
As much as i love Mavuika, i find her playstlyle is uncomfortable for me and i have to go really high amount of er to compensate that like 250% for Bennett and 199% for Citlali.
I really hope they don't suddenly nerf pyro to oblivion and then start releasing extremely OP dps that deals twice as much as mavuika does in a few versions. Mavuika is the god(dess) of war so her being the most high damage dps ever would make a lot of sense but this is hoyoverse, so she will most definitely get massively powercrept sooner or later
I agree that her Natlan needing restrictions are so bad. I mean I shouldn't mind it coz I have Xilonen and Citlali, but if I didn't get lucky winning my 50/50s getting her and Citlali, it would have been such a drag getting her max burst (coz I don't really build 4 stars except for Xingque and Bennet). I got Mav's weapon too (after losing to a standard 5* weapon on my first 10 pull and getting it on the next 10 pull). So I just got lucky. I got 4 5stars in less than 120 pulls saved. But what if I dodn't get lucky? I would have regretted pulling for her because of her Natlan needing restrictions. I do admit though that having Citlali and Xilonen, I enjoy her very much. I just achieved my max dmg with her at 1.4 mil with her talent at 1 6 8, plus sub par artifacts. My Citlali isn't even built at all, my Mavuika isn't maxed, yet I have cleared the Abyss with her premium team already.
In defense of hoyo Everyone keeps talking about how Mavuika needs Natlan units But the reality is, imagine she had the same kit but no Natlan restriction That would actually be powercreep, because there’d be no state of account or investment that the answer isn’t ‘just use Mavuika’ So I think it’s fair with the restriction that she’s a good dps with minimal investment, she’s top tier then absolutely breaks the game if you really invest in her Or would people like the no restriction if she just outright destroyed everyone. Even with the restrictions people are already mad she’s stronger than Neuvilette and Arlecchino
To share my impressions so far: I pulled Mavuika by accident on day 1, and at first I was mad that she blew my guarantee 😝 but I've been using her in the overworld (99% of my gameplay) and I've come to like her. I don't have Xilonen and I'm not going to pull Citlali right now, but she doesn't feel really limited to me using her with non-natlan chars. Probably because I like normal-attacking a lot, so her "extra" requirement to get her burst up felt like no requirement to me 😂. On the other hand, I much prefer her off-field playstyle so I use that most of the time (put her on golden troupe 😂) and only burst every 2 or 3 rotations so I can charge it to max while another character drives the team with normal attacks. It's an interesting case using her with the Shogun: their skills have perfect synergy but their bursts have anti-synergy. It still feels nice to play them both on a Chevreuse team, alternating their bursts. Fischl fills the last spot quite well. I also use Kaeya a lot and he can make her skill melt on almost every hit by himself while normal-attacking. Fun stuff. I'd say it's specifically because of her fire ring that I don't regret pulling her. 😂 I'll still be pulling for Arlecchino because I love her character and enjoy her on-field playstyle a lot more. 😉
I totally agree with your analisis I only wish we had artifact load out "for real" so we could save 2 sets for her, one for dps and one just for off field pyro applicator because her dps set does not have crit rate off field, she can be the strongest dps in the universe, her motorcycle gameplay is so dumb and unsatisfying that I preffer to keep her as a support, to me Natlan gameplay really went down the drain, I hope that the next nation we can come back to the normal fighting without fancy anacronic nonsense gimics.
@Juice-chan YES , rsrs, good'ol times... at least they gave us one artifact set that helped EVERYONE to get up to speed with the ER meta, simply the most farmed set in the history of this game, that became best choice for a crap ton o characters, and is not like you can't build up a crap ton of ER on anyone you want, but the Xenophobic Natlan decided to go 180° in the opposite direction, there's no way to give "nightsoul bs" to outsiders, the only artifact sets for this nation is UNUSABLE on anybody other than Natlan characters, I will not miss out on this nation when it goes away...
Mavuika's natlan synergy is just a lil too much for the average player but from the lore and story POV, the entirety of Natlan screams about teamwork and "no one fights alone".
I pulled for her and DAMN she hits hard XDDD The highest damage I could achieve before her was with my Noelle team, having both Furina and Xilonen buffs would let me reach almost 20k per Burst-normal attack. Now I'm EASILY hitting 20k with Mavuika's charge attack, and finally broke the 100k damage with her burst, she's stupidly busted XDDD

Something worth mention is that Mavuika C1 really reduces her restriction of Natlan team comp, so with a small investment, she is more open to other comps
C1 Mavuika is stuck to herself only. Xilonen can be used with other characters but C0 Mavuika is stuck with xilonen so this argument is invalid. What if you have other characters who potentially plays better than mavuika and you want to use Xilonen with them, but you also want to use Mavuika? The fact that Mavuika is stuck to xilonen and requiring C1 to fix that is a no go. I can see the same argument with Neuvillette together with Furina but his passive just requires 3 different hydro reactions to unlock his full passive, he's not stuck with Fontaine characters unlike Mavuika who is stuck with Natlan characters
Its almost like you are supposed to pull C2 archons because its really worth it and people have been doing it since raiden(which sucks) and justifiably since Nahida.
I wish she didn’t feel super awkward for me to actually play because damn those numbers I’ve been seeing are juicy. I’ve tried the trial dozens of times but she feels so off as a main dps. And I drop dead as her constantly because I don’t notice I took damage but that’s a skill issue that I could get used to. Not that I need a better pyro dps, but the off field application would be so nice. I have the extra wishes yet I really can’t figure out if I want the archon or not. Which I suppose is a solid indicator in itself that I should skip. Also someone let me know if it’s changed recently but isn’t Columbina leaked (and hinted to at the end of 5.3) to be within the next 8-12 months and is a pyro catalyst dps with “power to rival an archon” as lore states? Not that I want my current pyro harbinger to be outdone by another, but I do wonder if that’ll remain the case. Assuming she’s playable. Either the harbinger is underwhelming out the gate, or is already replacing the recent archon. I’ll just assume she’ll be a different role by the time she’s marketed.
She's incredible... But being locked to Natlan means you must get her cons to use her more freely with other teams. And let's not forget, without Citlali AND Xilonen, you're not matching what you've seen in these showcases, which is what leads to regrets down the line. I decided to skip her and go fullsens Arlecchino. She can work with my existing units. Mavuika still needs at least 2 other 5*s I don't have to make me feel like she was worth it. 😢
I pulled for Mavuika because I got Xiolonen, get i got lucky with Citlali and i already have a c6 bennet so Im fine now tbh (shes not my favorite tho, thatll be Clorinde and Navia... Just need furina now.)

Mavuika is a weird combination of high power and low value. She somehow brings a lot to the table, but manages to be entirely skippable for a lot of players.

I have her at c0. I’m currently running c0 Mavuika, c1 Emilie, c0 Raiden for off field dps, then can throw Clorinde, Yanfei, or Mona for great reaction teams. No need for other Natlan characters.
I play Xbox so I haven’t been able to pull for Nathan characters and I’ve done just fine with kachina and mavuika people make it seem like she’s unplayable without xilonen but her ult charges pretty fast just throw down kachinas skill and used mavuika skill and your ult will be charged pretty quickly
Don't trust the rumors, she can work just fine with one Kachina too. She's worth pulling for because of the sub dps capabilities and as a cinder city holder too imo.
i genuinely hope nightsoul is the last restrictive team building gimmick because its so fomo reliant and stretches f2p players super thin. Until theres a natlan 5 star on standard (currently the 4 stars nightsoul consumption is notably slower than 5 stars) mavuikas going to be an expensive unit to play comfortably. arlecchinos biggest pro over mavuika is that arle is incredibly easy to team build with and can use so many f2p friendly units AND arle is super comfortable to play and easy to build. mavuika is incredibly strong but definitely a unit better for dolphin and whale players for now. obviously if someone really likes her saving for xilonen and citlali will be worth it for them.
I'm running a team where only Mavuika and Pyro Traveler have Nightsoul and her burst charges relatively quickly (not super fast, but fast enough)
Your mistake is that you compare Arle at the moment when she has all the possible support with Mavuika, who came out a few days ago. Obviously, the new character may not have quality support. But over time, she will acquire the same number of units for more flexible teams. We are in the middle of Natlan, and no one knows what the new characters will be like after him. So it is too early to make such conclusions. Imagine if Arle came out at a time when there was no Zhongli, Furina, Kazuha or Yelan in the game, she would be the same trash and would fight with Xiangling for the right to have Bennett.

Hoyo knows that by making restrictive team shenanigans they will sell more like what hsr does all the time with the archetypes. NodKrai and Snezhnaya will obviously have that night soul mechanic too

Regardless of her being extremely strong I just can't get over that silly playstyle with her motorcycle. That alone made her an easy skip for me.

Nightsoul's mechanic is not going to last forever, so yes, once new regions/characters/kits/mechanics are released, Mavuika is not going to be as good as now. This is my personal opinion.
And the team restriction for her is really annoying for me too, because I like switching characters in teams and trying different comps, or I get easily bored otherwise. Always using the same team to make her use her full potential is quite annoying too. I get bored after a while, always using the same characters and seeing the same things over and over again. So yeah, I agree. She is very strong and cool as for now but I don't know about the future.

When Natlan will be over Mavuika won’t have an enrichment of the possible teams as Hu Tao did, for example. She’s forever tied to Xilo/Citlali, stop. When in Snezhnya we’ll have a new shiny support it won’t be working with Mavuika! She’s good now but unless they make the gimmick in Snezhnya work with fighting spirits Mavuika will die in Natlan

She's the best DPS but she basically only has 1 team, so she's not changing the meta as much as Xilonen, Furina or Xianyun did.
She can replace Xiangling, sure. But that's only a side-grade for most teams at best, so she's not really changing the team.
Citlali on the other hand ... She basically makes a new team archetype viable.

She’s not a side grade for Xiangling, she’s a massive upgrade & she’s not even at 10 talent yet since the rewards are weekly.
C2 Mauvika at talent 7 is already better than C6 Xianling at talent 10, plus Mauvika can only get better with more Natlan characters coming out.
So she’s arguably the best DPS, the best fire support & the by far best exploration unit. She’s broken.

You can play into other teams, but every time it's a side-grade and more often than not, you get a better DPS by giving your main-DPS a support set and weapon and using Mavuika on field.

I truly hate the nightsoul mechanics. That’s why the only natlan character I pulled was xilonen (for my neuvi). It’s just annoying when characters HAVE to be in certain teams to reach their full potential. Where’s the fun in that? IMHO, and maybe I’m wrong, it’s just a cheap way to get people to spend on characters they wouldn’t otherwise go for. You like mavuika? That’s fine but if you want her to really shine pull for these two/three other specific five stars. I’m not one to complain usually, but this is such a blatantly manipulative way to make feel like they need certain characters.
I have c0r1 arle and c1r1 mav, along with what are currently their ceiling teams. While it’s very satisfying seeing the big nuke dmg number, in practice, my clear times for both are very similar and I really value the rotation flexibility that characters like arle (and neuv) provide. My main dislike is the burst reliance for mav that feels like raiden 2025 edition. It seems that hyv either intentionally moved toward more restrictive rotations with their Natlan carries and supports, or backed themselves into that corner with the nightsoul point mechanics, which is why I really understand commenters that don’t like natlan characters.

Mavuika c6 damage wise is the best however saying that she has the best c6 I will disagree yes her c6 gives damage and (exploration kinda better) the best c6 should be furina because she just basically fit on every team because she fills the role as a healer and buffer while having a great sub dps

I agree, when a lot of others compare her to the pyro archon, they forget that mauvika premium team is all 5 star supports mostly new characters, xilonen, citlali and whoever last to buff
A raiden premium team is c6 Sara, a kazuha or chevruze c6 and a Bennett. She gets 1 5 star support. Imagine electro related 5 star supports as a full team for raiden. Man that would be busted
@@initiald6104 Yeah Electro doesn't have a lot of support character outside of dendro and pyro (thanks to Chevreuse). (I don't mention Furina because she works with everyone.). For Mavuika, people can say whatever they want, she does not shine without the support characters you just mentioned. She is very expensive to build.

The only DPSes she significantly buffs imo is Wrio, Clorinde, Ganyu, Mono Pyro Lyney and Kinich
They also have some problems too. Ganyu can overpower the Pyro aura. Mono Pyro isn't the best Lyney team. And Mauvuika eats into Bennetts buff and can't consistently trigger scroll past the first rotation (Kinich)
Sure she's good with Maulani and Navia but she's kinda restrictive preventing characters like Candace from being played. And she's not particularly outstanding with Navia either
Her kit design is also flawed. HOYO can never make another Pyro DPS. (They will straight up either powercreep or be worse than Mauvuika). Mauvuika's shelf life is also tied to the amount of Natlan supports they release in the future etc

She heavily improved on low cost Eula teams, Cyno became (almost) playable, Klee became good (Was one of the top characters in low cost speedruns).
Let me give a list of non (top) meta teams that were made good/gained a lot of relevance by Furina.
Klee, Eula, Xiao, Raiden, Cyno, Lyney, Wriothesley, C6 Dori
Wrong, she buffs any team that has Xiangling, with her C1 her skill lasts longer & does more damage, while having a lower cooldown.

Like you showcased, the Emilie+Mav+Bennet core for Kinich is just BUSTED, and burn finally got the meta team it deserves. Couldn't be happier to see another Archon live up to their namesake!

One thing everyone is forgetting to mention, while Mavuika does need natlan characters they all get their artifacts from a single domain. Which happens to be broken. Natlan teams are very resin efficient in this aspect.

Natlan is currently the first nation that only has 1 artifact domain, and only useable by Natlan characters. Both artifacts require nightsoul blessing so if you only have 1 Natlan character (let's say Mavuika), that domain only benefits 1 natlan character out of the 84 non-natlan characters. Maybe you are the one misinterpreting my sentence.
She's been sick so far. I'm enjoying her playstyle and mechanics, overworld is a blast. Been testing her damage and it's stellar.
i will say that her hitting for 500k on a lvl 6 vaped burst is nothing short of INSANE, her coolness factor will never expire
It would be good to know how good her C1 is in terms of "Natlan independency" maybe her C1 and just one Natlan character will make her more "durable", if her damage output is much higher than Arlechino, that limitation wouldn´t be as big as to pull for Arlecchino just because she´s less dependent on region specific characters.
For ppl who had c1 or c2 mavuika u can run her alone no need for natlan characters. U can charge her fighting spirit in just 1-2 second by just summoning flamestrider and turbo it ramming the enemies. This only works if there are 2-3 enemies nearby close. If there's more enemies it will be even faster to recharge it. I discovered this will using her during exploration. When my fs is 0 i tried summoning flamestrider and do spin,normal hit it seems a bit slower but still fast. But when i turbo it couple of times ramming enemies, her fs full to 200 max less than 1,2 seconds. Idk if this were a bug or something.
Idk how fast her fs will be charged by doing this method, but doing this trick is significantly fast af to charged her fs. If i do it traditionally by hitting with flamestrider or doing donut spin i need like 4-5 second to max it 200 fs. By doing the ramming method only 1-2 seconds to maxed her fs which is considerably faster. If someone had c0 please give it a try i wanna know how much difference it makes.

I just want you to understand that this combo is going to stand the test of time. Why? Because you do not need any ER on her, so you can focus your stats much more on every piece. I do not foresee this team being powercrept for several years that is if you have the premium variant. This is just a route they are going with, if you have the premium version you can probably play it until the end. Why they do it this way is because people want to be able to choose what they like to play and not feel forced to pull for the newest toy.

After seeing someone clear the current abyss easily with 2 teams of 3 4☆ characters. All of then weren't C6 with 3 and 4☆ weapons. I'm convinced that a meta doesn't exist.
Team 1: Sucrose C6 Sac Frag, Beidou C6 Favonius great sword, Xingqui C6 Sac Sword.
Team 2: Fischl C5 stringless, Kirara C2 fav sword, Sethos C2 slingshot.

I have done some 4☆ clears. But you better believe some of them are using 5☆ weapons if I got them. I'm also not a very good planner. So instead of it being an elegant dance, it looks more like someone cutting down a tree with a sledge hammer.😅

I'd argue arlecchino Is an equal dps to mavuika, due to qol and comfort, as well as their respective niches, mavuika feels more like a nuke and go ham within a tight rotation, while arle feels more sustained and consistent rotation wise, it's not necessarily the overall damage numbers for me.
They are definitely not equal dps as mavuika multipliers is high while arlechino burst is a dps loss..
Obsidian artifact is also very OP 15% dmg and 40% cr unconditionally for any natlan units
Assuming they both uses citlali + xilonen, arlecchino needs multiple NA melts to even out a single mavuika burst...
Exploration is also in mavuika's favor as you can use her bike continuously for 7s after burst which can be charged with xilonen E

I am assuming Xilonen will re-run really soon. It would be nuts if not. They should have run three banners so the skippers could have another chance on such an important character. Xilonen was a must-pull for me at the time, so I don't have an issue.

i play her with 0 Natlan characters, Kazuha Bennett Furina, she still hits 500k plus easy, she gets her own burst back ridiculously easily all you gotta do is use her normals after a few charged ones
W/ Xilonen she’s obviously better but she’s not needed at all, w/out her she’s still going to hit the same numbers as every other top dps
Pulled mavuika and luckily citlali too. Her burst is very strong, so if you want big numbers she's good at that, however for her 2nd rotation filling up her burst takes time even with citlali. So it depends if you are willing to wait for her burst everytime. As for her off field damage, it is also good but there are a lot of substitute charac for pyro application. If you are a free to play and newbie, citlali is probably better or even arlecchino.
Just had a thought (a copium thought) maybe they released so many pyro main dos chars up until now so they won’t have to power creep the pyron for a while and just not release any new ones
I think the best thing Hoyo can do to fix Mavuika longevity is to create a Nightsoul generating Artifact set for non-natlan characters in the later patches for supports to use. Something that generates 60 nightsoul on skill and another 60 on burst; with a consumption of 20 night soul a second while on field. This could generate 120 NS for Mavuika in 6 seconds. For Natlan characters its won't give NS but it could give some dam % or atk or something so its not totally useless on natlan characters either.
I cant tell whether this would be a good or bad artifact set. On one hand, you get to extend the nightsoul duration, and extra buff for non-nightsoul based characters. But on the other hand, their nightsoul are capped, and and some might not even get a buff out of it.

I honestly got Citlali over her for this reason- she wasn’t as supportive as I hoped she would be and is more a DPS. A DPS I can’t use as well because I don’t have Xilolen. I’m curious to see future DPS’s compete with her numbers as time goes on- especially Skirk

Hu Tao barely became powercrept after what, 3 years? and still 5 years after her release she's still holding up in the meta even if she's clearly not the strongest, still feels very good to play in both low and medium investment teams.
There are clearly some characters that will hold on better from powercreep, like Chiori that will become much stronger in Snezhnaya, Citlali when it's obvious Hoyo's cooking some eventual characters to take even better advantage of her buffs, Navia when more universal cryo buffers will be released (very likely in Snezhnaya).
And you can already destroy the game with any of them, on top of the fact they'll hold on to the meta for much longer (at least most likely, not guaranteed but still)
Keep your primos for characters you'll really vibe with, they'll continue with their powercreep so you don't need Mavuika's damage as long as you can still beat the abyss for the rewards, or that you wanna speedrun it.

People usually overestimate the difficulty of genshin's endgame, like, why worry about powercreep when you can clear abyss with every character as long as you have good investment in them?

@@Guttins Woirse than that. They're still pigeonholing Venti, Ganyu, Ayaka, Mona... At the time, yes they were so strong it was almost unfair. But with the amount of powercreep recently, there'd be nothing to worry about even if bosses were freezable, Ganyu and Ayaka wouldn't even be able to make them as trivial as Mavuika does.
Hoyo just wants to make older metas die out to sell newer characters. Fair enough, but I don't want people to close their eyes and look the other way.
the thing is, there's a lot of busted 4* supports in the game, but as for DPS, you would want a DPS that can actually carry your team unless you wanna waste your resources on 4* DPS's.
Not everyone has Hu Tao, Lyney, Arlecchino. I dunno why people always assume that everyone has good DPS units.

@@AnneYoungHaseyo Very valid argument. Everyone needs a few dps. However, I threw more than 6000 resin at my Ayaka's artefacts, got Shenhe. I got Ganyu and a c2 Kazuha to use her melt playstyle. Now, all these 6 copies of five star characters are completely useless because they can't even clear the abyss, they're only there for the Theater i guess. Which is very frustrating, I hadn't had the time to use them for very long before it happened.
Maybe everyone needs to experience this firsthand, but I know for sure I'm personally never pulling for a character that's gonna get irrelevant in a year or two.
It uses so much resin, resources, brainpower to think of making a fun team you enjoy, considering constellations, weapons, everything... I want it to last its worth somewhat and not have to throw even more primos in just to keep them afloat.
if mauika gets powercrept, all other characters will be powercrept even harder, so you'll just be hoarding your wishes forever with that mentality
just pull for whatever character you enjoy and have fun with the game (that's the point of a game in the first place)

arle and lyney and hu tao can technically get more supports as time goes on. mavuika cant bc of nightsoul. so like shes an easy skip for me bc she cant work optimally without (optimally) two limited five stars.
Literally just needs Xilonen, there's even a combo that allows Xilonen to generate 120 nightsoul points and it caps Mavuikas fighting spirit.

Even powercrept, she's still viable as a sub DPS Pyro applicator capable of providing damage bonus via her A4 passive which does not rely on energy.
I do agree that Mavuika is amazing for Kinich, but I'm really struggling to proc Cinder City with dendro bonus without Emilie or another dendro support. I missed Sumeru, so i don't have any dendro supports. I've been running Zhongli in 4th slot, but Mavuika keeps proccing geo bonus for Cinder City rather than dendro.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong in my rotation, but I can't figure out how to reliably get a dendro proc with Cinder City.
if you have to you can slot in collei instead of Emilie if you don't have her or yao yao if you have her. so a kinich, mavuika, yoa yao, bennett team would probably be fine you just need to make sure one person has a deepwood set on because that will always be one of the best support builds for any and every dendro unit. it's a little more difficult but is doable and to consistently get the cinder city proc you essentially just have to proc dendro before pyro in most cases and it will allow cinder city to activate. it's difficult but the damage increase is immense. My kinich went from doing maybe 150-160k to well over 200k with that plus mavuika's dmg bonus.
The only problem could be that you have another pyro in the team that applies pyro to the enemy and kinich's dendro starts burning with this pyro. Adjust your rotation or place zhongli construct in a way that it triggers crystallize with the pyro auro of the 2nd pyro to clear it. In the 2nd rotaion against one enemy you have to use Zhongli to kill the burning auro on the enemy with geo (skill and burst).
@Swing-q7x my other pyro unit is Bennett, so that wouldn't be the issue. It's that I'm running deep woods on Zhongli to proc the dendro res shred, but the geo aura is too strong and making mav proc crystallize. I like the comfort of the shield but might need to pivot off so mav can proc burning for Cinder City

I hope I can still get Citlali this patch and then continue to save for cons and weapon for Father and Lady Furina.

Well the main point I think is that they want (or more like would prefer), but the don't need them. Not everyone has the best units for the best team. Other characters could use Kazuha, Sucrose or any other anemo unit instead of Xilonen. If you don't have Citlali you could use Rosaria, Kaeya, Diona, Layla etc. So while Citlali and Xilonen would be the best teammates, you could still clear with less valuable units. Meanwhile Mavuika needs at least one of the two because most of her dmg comes from her burst and she by herself would take too long to charge it.

People keep saying Xilonen is a must-pull for Mavuika, and sure, that might be true if you don't have Citlali. But really, Citlali is so much more important for Mavuika than Xilonen.
If you could only pick one; Either Citlali or Xilonen for a Mavuika team, i think Citlali is the way to go 100% of the time. One of the reasons is because Xilonen can easily be replaced by Sucrose, which not only shreds more RES, she also buffs EM by 200 which is HUGE for melt, and can hold TTDS for another huge buff of 48% ATK.
Finding a replacement that can keep up with Citlali is significantly harder. Sure you can try Rosaria, but do you really want to deal with Circle Impact.. and besides that, she offer no meaningful buffs for Mavuika. Citlali can use TTDS and shred 20% RES, its hard to find a replacement for that.
Go cook up a Melt team, choose one between Citlali and Xilonen and then tell me what you think. From my experience, the Citlali team outperforms the Xilonen team every single time.
And it needs to be a Melt team, because no other Mavuika team even comes close to melt performance.
As good as Mavuika is I think they absolutely missed the mark with her as an archon, I don't feel like "yes, I absolutely did the right thing when wishing for her, this unlocks so many characters/playstyles", I just feel like she's a strong unit that is a slightly stronger side-grade to some other characters, she doesn't add anything of value to the game, you could skip her and nothing would really change, she's just either on-field damage similar to Arle, or she's off-field and most of the time a bit better than Xiangling, but she doesn't dominate a niche like the other archons (raiden is having slight problems right now but with hyperbloom and C2-3 raiden you still have teams that each does something special). I'm happy with her as a general genshin character, but as an archon she's disappointing.
The problem with disgruntled commentators is that they are impatient. They want everything at once. When Kazuha came out, he was doused with shit because he did not meet the expectations of the players. They wanted something else. And yet, when he became meta, people immediately changed their minds and began to tearfully demand his replay.
It would seem that these are different examples, but the truth is one: you should never rush to conclusions. Mavuika has everything to become meta and she will become it. As for the mechanics of the Night Soul, this is the same limitation as Furina requiring a healer, as well as overloads that require Chevreuse, as well as normal bloom, which requires Nilou. But no one complains about these concepts and mechanics. Everything can be limited if you really want to. There is nothing wrong with a character being locked into a single concept, especially if that concept is broken. As practice shows, specialists are always stronger than generalists. Look at Nilou. She plays on one team through one reaction. Is she weak? Is she trash? No and no. Can she play without premium support? Yes. So can Mavuika. Will it be as good as with premium support? No. So can Mavuika. So when Nilou demands Nahida, they pull Nahida for her. And when Mavuika wants Xilonen, people start crying and complaining that the character is limiting them.
You say: Mavuika is an archon, unlike Nilou. And what does that change? Mavuika is primarily a DPS character, which means she should be evaluated as a character, and not in terms of a status or title that people artificially assign importance to.
But since you want to talk about archons, how is Venti doing? For some reason, he is considered an exception to the powercreep in Genshin. Everyone has come to terms with the fact that he is trash and useless, but why? He is an archon. An archon should be broken. Why isn't Venti broken like Nahida and Furina? Think about this when you evaluate Mavuika as an archon.
What actual benefit is Raiden? Her status is useless and even hurts teams like Eula hypercarry. She doesn't give any buffs, the electro status is useless, her skill can't even deal damage and the character itself plays a DPS role for the most part (especially in national teams), but Raiden isn't criticized for her uselessness.
What actual benefit is there from Zhongli? Shield. How many teams are currently in the game that include Zhongli? Weakling Neuvilette, who even hilichurl wipe the floor with. And Arlecchino. That's it. This is all an application of Zhongli. He is needed either for these two characters, or for destroying the wolf leader's geo-heads in the abyss. But no one calls him useless, considering that most of the time he sits on the bench and only comes out on holidays.
Nahida is limited by dendro teams
Furina is limited to healers and she destroys your team faster than the most formidable enemy.
Archons have always been overrated. These are the same characters, only with their own trick that does not always remain relevant and valuable.

HoYoverse could still release Natlan-characters in Snezhnaya who could synergize well with Mavuika. For instance, we will get Mizuki from Inazuma and Yanlan from Liyue in the next few patches, while we are in Natlan.

As a cusual player, I would say she is still is a great pull. I lost my 50/50 on both Xilonen and Citlali banners, so I am forced to use Kachina as a battery. I am surely doing not the best damage without Xilonen and Citlali but it's still 200k vaporize nuke as a burst.
Also she makes climbing and dashing so much faster during exploration even outside Natlan. The exploration comfort itself is enough reason to pull for her.

I have C1R1 Mav in her BiS team (Citlali, Xilonen & Benny), and while I haven't quite hit the 1M dmg mark yet, I'm still doing like 900k bursts before doing sick burnouts on the enemy's face. While I do wish she was also a replacement for Benny, she's really performed as well as I'd hoped. I knew she'd be an expensive DPS, which is why I've been saving primo's for her/Citlali for about 3-4 months. She's worth every single one imo.
She impressed me, I never thought I would be able to kit 1M so easily, it's very satisfying to see everything melt ( literally)

Its the same for c0 mavuika,since without that dj cat. she feels the need of the catt but that exact dj cat shines in this case parties on all typa teams iut there.

I feel for now she will definitely be the star of the show but her c1 will probably be a good pick on her rerun since it does allow for less restrictions
Idk why ppl are so worried about being powercrept. Most likely there won't be a pyro dps for a while now that three have released since Fontaine.
Also Raiden just barely got power crept as the number 1 main dps electro unit by Chlorinde at the very late patches of Fontaine.(2.2-4.7)

Nobody really cares about the electro DPSs having a mid off. None of them are close to the top
The limit to the Natlan characters seems like they're only super busted with each other. It seems like they tried to make Fontaines characters balanced around their Ousia/Pneuma only being effective on specific mobs, but they're still good with other characters and other mobs.
I actually don’t see a super clean way to powercreep her. She’s sort of saved by the fact that Xilonen is the best generalist support in the game, so you’re not giving anything up by using her and it keeps the other two slots open for stronger supports in the future. It would take Xilonen getting powercrept for Mav to be in danger of falling off
Shes not getting cooked anytime soon as Xilonen will always be one of her best teammate
I will be skipping because the motorcycle pulls me out of my immersion even more than other Natlan characters have. Plus, I am having stupid amounts of fun with my shiny new Lyney and have been referencing your videos as I build him. I never thought I would have fun with an aimed shot DPS until Tighnari and especially Lyney. Now I might go for Ganyu, get all the charged shot DPS 👀
I pulled Mavuika even though I never pulled for any other Natlan region characters, but I pair her with pyro traveler and it's pretty decent at recharging her ult.

5:39 as a certified neuvilete enjoyer... his "team damage" is not even close to mauika's. only if you consider DPR without realizing that his rotations are 6s longer than hers
6:49 people seem to forget that raiden wasn't even close to the dps ceiling when she came out... her hypercarry team was below national before c2, and even then she wasn't significantly ahead of the cryo ladies
8:19 the people who skipped xilonen have enough to get citlali, which is a far better suport for mauika. i don't even run xilonen with my mauika because she's a bigger increase for neuvilete and she's clearing current abyss chambers in 30-40s. as for claiming that "being stuck with citlali is a bad thing", how many characters have been stuck with kazuha for the past 3 years..?

Two problems with this, the nightsoul restriction might be the start of restrictive gimmicks, and two having insane characters like this will raise the ceiling for end game content like Spiral Abyss and it will be hell for other players (like the recent 5.2 abyss).
I do not know what are you talking about. Im a long standing Cocogoat player. Xiangling is still better in both damage output and pyro application. When her energy problem is solved, she applies pyro fast with no ICD. Really, are you serious?
8:45 now that u said think about it, i just realized that it totally makes sense mavuika is tied to a natlan character gameplaywise (& citlali lorewise), she is not even a real archon
shes the 1st regular human thats holding a gnosis. imo this is almost a foreshadowing of her being powercrept very soon even

She's exactly what I wanted. I am in the minority cuz I use her as a full on support lol. She is perfect and 100% worth your primos cuz you can't ask for a better sub dps for your wrio
I think Mavuika will age quite well all things concidered. She is at the moment the strongest DPS in game in terms of pure dmg. If she is powercrept, then so are 99% of the current dps units. And even then, she still is good as a sub DPS / off field pyro unit.
Hoyo actualy did something quite smart: If you have her c1, she does not need another nightsoul unit as badly. Having Xilo or Citlali is great, but you get 150 points per 18s rotation plus points from NA´s. So she can work with future supports if you pull her c1.
She also is a lot more fun to play than i thought, because of the way she controls during her doughnuts.
Love the character but did really need to give her a dps role when pyro already have so many. Her sub DPS feel stapled on, like they didn't want it to be even more reliable than xiangling.
It is more reliable than Xiangling, right now Mauvika has the best & most consistent melting reactions with her C1
wouldnt a chasca, mavuika, citlali and ig furina work? like furina switch from healing and dmg from time to time or instead of furina yae miko or smth. even if she has the highest team, she is just another top dps kinda because arl and lyney still is more than usable in the endgame so having the status best of already good is cool but overall, it isnt huge. her numbers impress dont get me wrong but if they would have lean to more support and sub dps, that would have been way better cause thats what we are missing from a 5 star pyro
Well the fact that mavuika can reach damage cap reliably with C6 R5 mean she can't be powercrept in terms of pure damage, what we've got in Natlan is characters with insane vertical investment plans so that they can't get immediately powercrept by the next region, what I forsee is that the characters on the tsaritsas realm will have higher floors than that of Natlan but their vertical investment will be normalized to match or not exceed Natlans, think about how often does a support like Citlali can offer it's dps an increase as significant as the own dps cons? Other than maybe furina who is an archon I can't think of any up the top of my head (5 stars of course)
This would mean that for someone invested on mavuika, instead of getting more new supports they can just get Xilonen or citlalis cons and match whatever the current meta is when the time comes
i'm guessing they're gonna make bronya the Cryo 5s Benny with good cryo application, maybe...

Xilonen and Citlali are good supports, so if people pull those two Mauvika is a good pick.
I think she wont age well due to her nightsoul restrictions because other characters will eventually get buffed with future realses but i think mavuika have already peaked unless they make a 5star Bennett

As much as i love Mavuika, i find her playstlyle is uncomfortable for me and i have to go really high amount of er to compensate that like 250% for Bennett and 199% for Citlali.

I really hope they don't suddenly nerf pyro to oblivion and then start releasing extremely OP dps that deals twice as much as mavuika does in a few versions. Mavuika is the god(dess) of war so her being the most high damage dps ever would make a lot of sense but this is hoyoverse, so she will most definitely get massively powercrept sooner or later
I agree that her Natlan needing restrictions are so bad. I mean I shouldn't mind it coz I have Xilonen and Citlali, but if I didn't get lucky winning my 50/50s getting her and Citlali, it would have been such a drag getting her max burst (coz I don't really build 4 stars except for Xingque and Bennet). I got Mav's weapon too (after losing to a standard 5* weapon on my first 10 pull and getting it on the next 10 pull). So I just got lucky. I got 4 5stars in less than 120 pulls saved. But what if I dodn't get lucky? I would have regretted pulling for her because of her Natlan needing restrictions. I do admit though that having Citlali and Xilonen, I enjoy her very much. I just achieved my max dmg with her at 1.4 mil with her talent at 1 6 8, plus sub par artifacts. My Citlali isn't even built at all, my Mavuika isn't maxed, yet I have cleared the Abyss with her premium team already.
We need at least 2 more pyro DPS. Be honest, is there ever enough 🔥?

But the reality is, imagine she had the same kit but no Natlan restriction
That would actually be powercreep, because there’d be no state of account or investment that the answer isn’t ‘just use Mavuika’
So I think it’s fair with the restriction that she’s a good dps with minimal investment, she’s top tier then absolutely breaks the game if you really invest in her
Or would people like the no restriction if she just outright destroyed everyone. Even with the restrictions people are already mad she’s stronger than Neuvilette and Arlecchino
Mavuika is THE most environmentally friendly character. Girl literally has electric charging stations all over natlan 😂 she made fuel FREE
Others thought Mavuika wouldn't work without natlan characters.
To share my impressions so far:
I pulled Mavuika by accident on day 1, and at first I was mad that she blew my guarantee 😝 but I've been using her in the overworld (99% of my gameplay) and I've come to like her.
I don't have Xilonen and I'm not going to pull Citlali right now, but she doesn't feel really limited to me using her with non-natlan chars. Probably because I like normal-attacking a lot, so her "extra" requirement to get her burst up felt like no requirement to me 😂. On the other hand, I much prefer her off-field playstyle so I use that most of the time (put her on golden troupe 😂) and only burst every 2 or 3 rotations so I can charge it to max while another character drives the team with normal attacks.
It's an interesting case using her with the Shogun: their skills have perfect synergy but their bursts have anti-synergy. It still feels nice to play them both on a Chevreuse team, alternating their bursts. Fischl fills the last spot quite well.
I also use Kaeya a lot and he can make her skill melt on almost every hit by himself while normal-attacking. Fun stuff. I'd say it's specifically because of her fire ring that I don't regret pulling her. 😂
I'll still be pulling for Arlecchino because I love her character and enjoy her on-field playstyle a lot more. 😉
I totally agree with your analisis I only wish we had artifact load out "for real" so we could save 2 sets for her, one for dps and one just for off field pyro applicator because her dps set does not have crit rate off field, she can be the strongest dps in the universe, her motorcycle gameplay is so dumb and unsatisfying that I preffer to keep her as a support, to me Natlan gameplay really went down the drain, I hope that the next nation we can come back to the normal fighting without fancy anacronic nonsense gimics.
can we just go back to like, inazuma where the only “gimmick” was that every character wanted 5 billion energy recharge ☠️
@Juice-chan YES , rsrs, good'ol times... at least they gave us one artifact set that helped EVERYONE to get up to speed with the ER meta, simply the most farmed set in the history of this game, that became best choice for a crap ton o characters, and is not like you can't build up a crap ton of ER on anyone you want, but the Xenophobic Natlan decided to go 180° in the opposite direction, there's no way to give "nightsoul bs" to outsiders, the only artifact sets for this nation is UNUSABLE on anybody other than Natlan characters, I will not miss out on this nation when it goes away...
Mavuika's natlan synergy is just a lil too much for the average player but from the lore and story POV, the entirety of Natlan screams about teamwork and "no one fights alone".

The highest damage I could achieve before her was with my Noelle team, having both Furina and Xilonen buffs would let me reach almost 20k per Burst-normal attack. Now I'm EASILY hitting 20k with Mavuika's charge attack, and finally broke the 100k damage with her burst, she's stupidly busted XDDD

I wanna see arlecchino with Snezhnaya supports, unless those supports don’t work for arlecchino since she’s from Fontaine (technically)
Something worth mention is that Mavuika C1 really reduces her restriction of Natlan team comp, so with a small investment, she is more open to other comps
People are ignoring this also she only really needs Xilonen as you can get 125 fighting spirit from her alone .
C1 Mavuika is stuck to herself only. Xilonen can be used with other characters but C0 Mavuika is stuck with xilonen so this argument is invalid. What if you have other characters who potentially plays better than mavuika and you want to use Xilonen with them, but you also want to use Mavuika? The fact that Mavuika is stuck to xilonen and requiring C1 to fix that is a no go.
I can see the same argument with Neuvillette together with Furina but his passive just requires 3 different hydro reactions to unlock his full passive, he's not stuck with Fontaine characters unlike Mavuika who is stuck with Natlan characters
Its almost like you are supposed to pull C2 archons because its really worth it and people have been doing it since raiden(which sucks) and justifiably since Nahida.
I wish she didn’t feel super awkward for me to actually play because damn those numbers I’ve been seeing are juicy. I’ve tried the trial dozens of times but she feels so off as a main dps. And I drop dead as her constantly because I don’t notice I took damage but that’s a skill issue that I could get used to.
Not that I need a better pyro dps, but the off field application would be so nice. I have the extra wishes yet I really can’t figure out if I want the archon or not. Which I suppose is a solid indicator in itself that I should skip.
Also someone let me know if it’s changed recently but isn’t Columbina leaked (and hinted to at the end of 5.3) to be within the next 8-12 months and is a pyro catalyst dps with “power to rival an archon” as lore states? Not that I want my current pyro harbinger to be outdone by another, but I do wonder if that’ll remain the case. Assuming she’s playable. Either the harbinger is underwhelming out the gate, or is already replacing the recent archon. I’ll just assume she’ll be a different role by the time she’s marketed.
she's meta defining if you GET NATLAN CHARACTERS AND HER WEAPON
She's incredible... But being locked to Natlan means you must get her cons to use her more freely with other teams. And let's not forget, without Citlali AND Xilonen, you're not matching what you've seen in these showcases, which is what leads to regrets down the line.
I decided to skip her and go fullsens Arlecchino. She can work with my existing units. Mavuika still needs at least 2 other 5*s I don't have to make me feel like she was worth it. 😢

I pulled for Mavuika because I got Xiolonen, get i got lucky with Citlali and i already have a c6 bennet so Im fine now tbh
(shes not my favorite tho, thatll be Clorinde and Navia... Just need furina now.)
