Great video! I’ve been going through this process. My boyfriend took me to the jewelry store and I had no clue what I liked. That experience led me to go down a rabbit hole of discovery. You’re right this is a long and personal progress.
We went with a local jeweler for my custom ring. It was not only cheap than online but also higher quality, because I could specify things like the shank height (which affects durability).
Harry Winston is a much larger brand, they are part of The Swatch Group so they have more distribution/advertising - similar to how Tiffany is owned by LVMH now. Graff is still a privately owned company, headquartered in London. Due to this, I attribute more “exclusive” prestige to graff, but more people have probably heard of Harry Winston.
You know, the wine’s price is also past on to customers. This is normal because he also wanted to make a sale and have you return. All I am trying to say is that all luxury companies have high overheads. Graff seems like an amazing jewelry company. By the way, your ring is gorgeous!
HW’s Manhattan store sucks. I will never buy anything from them anymore. Hard to find a normal (sales) person to help you and just the way they taking to you. Man, it feels like you own them.
Same here. I was trying to shop for an engagement ring and I even came in with what I considered to be a pretty big budget (around $20k). They kept me waiting in the lobby for 15 minutes when I had an appointment. When they finally saw me, they really rushed the whole process, were a bit dismissive when I didn’t have a decision on what I wanted to get, seemed a bit confused when I asked for ring pricing, and quickly rushed me out with a brochure when they could see I wasn’t going to purchase anything on my first visit. Despite me needing an appointment to even enter the boutique, the whole experience only lasted 5 minutes. They didn’t even offer any water or have a desk to discuss ring options over. I felt so slighted by the experience I decided to tell all my friends to avoid them as an option.

Have a fun time learning and exploring what you like together 😊

Didn't know there were so many different type of diamonds/rings/brands. Interesting. Really long video though. Maybe make them shorter?
Too much information to share, couldn't make it shorter. I already cut out a lot of details
@@luxuryinModeration you should break it up into different parts, maybe one for the ring and another for the brands.
@@BldyKnuckles then the brands video would be like 3 min long... I've thought about this but thanks for the suggestion.
@@luxuryinModeration You already did the chapters, so people can easily skip around!

aw, i'm sorry to hear that, I don't think i've had a guts to walk in that store yet, but I'm curious about the experience now
