Last year I had my book in the Lulu book store and one day I decided to search for a specific answer to a question that popped into my mind. When I popped open the web page I thought, I already calculated this answer in my book. Well, I'm here, so I might as well see the answer.
As I looked at the answer my brain went into shock. I then read a bit of the details and scrolled back up to the number I was previously looking at and slowly, the thought creeped into my mind; "It's wrong, it's all wrong".
Why would you do that to a compulsive perfectionist?
      That's so mean!
Once I got over the shock that a long standing truism was in fact false and not true; I immediately pulled the book off line and was thankful that my lack of marketing skills meant that the only sales listed were the copies I purchased in order to review the books layout in print form.
Now I have to edit the book and republish it.
I think I'm going leave the errors in the book and simply add dated edits presenting the new findings. I figure that by doing this, in addition to presenting to the reader the resolution of a 2000 year old question, the book will become an object lesson, and an example to future authors why it is absolutely necessary to vet everything you think is true. Even when the statement has been assumed to be true for well over 1000 years.

Really needed to hear the part about overpreparing and underexecuting. Totally guilty of the research trap, regularly leafing to analysis paralysis.

When you explain to people why you said no, you are asking them for permission to say no. You are giving people authority and power to override your decision to say no.
    [EDIT]
There are two caveats to this rule though,
    1) Spouses.
It is better to explain your position to a spouse than to end up in a stupid argument.
    2) Children.
Because I said so, does not teach a child the wisdom needed to grow a strong moral compass.

You are so right Amy. The opposite mindset can lead to apathy and therefore it’s pointless taking up thinking space. It becomes just a wishy washy idea.
Your hair over the years put in so much work 😁
Happy new year to you and your family ❤

I have a tendency to start several goals at the same time. I want to be healthy, I want to be an amazing mother and wife, I want to excel at my job, I want to save an insane amount of money, I want to learn different languages, I want to play piano, and the list goes on and on. Work, family, savings, and health seem to be all that has stuck with me. Now I feel like I'm ready for something new. How do I find which goal is the one that I REALLY want enough to stick with it?

I just let out an audible F$@# in the grocery store when you said over-educated, and under implemented. I’ve always felt that, but never thought of those words for it. Call a girl out why don’t you😂
