  • Here is a walkthrough on how I modded my M-Audio SP-2! It is simple, but extremely effective as this pedal will probably last me a very long time. This is extremely easy to do and I am sure everyone out there can do this successfully. Thanks for watching. If you have any questions, please leave a comment!

Smart! I got one of these as part of a package deal with a keyboard and turns out it was missing one of the two pivot screws inside, which is a sorta specialized type of screw. I contacted their support, hopefully I'll be able to get a new one.

I don’t know why all sustain pedals don’t have a 1/4” jack these days. They would sell less pedals though 🤔 Guitar amps and most electronics no longer have hardwired power cables. It’s 2022, not 1962.

The output location should be like this from factory. I have had some similar problems with existing design too.

without solder putting a heat shrink tube around each terminal will probably make it less likely to short

is it possible for me to play need for speed or any racing game on a computer with a universal sustain pedal?

Zach Gluvna Yes, but not straight out. You’re going to need some sort of midi translation software in order to map the input to something usable by your game. Also, if you are going to use a sustain pedal, you are going to need to have something that it can plug into. They are traditionally 1/4” jack output, so you need to have a device of some sort (or a midi keyboard) that can translate it to USB. There are tutorials on RUclips for how to play games with midi controllers that go more in depth. But for hardware, I’d suggest changing out the 2 leads on the sustain pedal to go to an old computer keyboard or controller’s button (space bar or anything like that). The sustain pedal is just a simple button, so rerouting that button input to a board that does go into the computer can be effective.

@@davidkimproductions how and where can i find these 1/4 jack to usb devices without souldering wires but i dont want an extra 1/4 jack, just a cable where you plug the 1/4 jack in and on the other end is a normal usb.

Zach Gluvna That’s where it can become a little pricey. They do sell MIDI pedal interfaces and converters, but those get expensive. You’d be better off if you had a midi controller to plug that into already.
