Saw it at the National Theatre in London and could not have loved it more. I want a London cast Recording so badly it hurts.
And it's coming to Broadway in March!!
Anais wore that fantastic gold sequin feather top during the press tour in 2019. Its refreshing to see an artist cherish clothing that have meaning attached rather than follow shallow fashion trends.
I didn’t know about Hadestown until it was on broadway but my favorite thing about looking back on earlier renditions is how every stop along the way still worked beautifully on its own. Of course, it just kept getting better and better, but I love how much trust Anais put into experimenting.
As someone in the art and design field, it’s so hard to push for changes on a project you’re already happy with, but Hadestown’s long journey has reminded me of how fun experimenting can be. I can’t help but wonder if broadway is the last stop for Hadestown or if there’s still more pit stops on the road ahead. Either way, I’m so glad to have found this beautiful piece of art!!! :)
Watching this makes me so happy and proud of all of the hard work everybody has put into this over the years, it's one of the most beautiful collection of songs I've ever heard and hearing on Broadway is going to be so magical

I've been getting into These United States and Anias Mitchell for a while now, independent of each other. Kind of surreal to see Jesse here. Always love his voice. He does a great job! Big kudos to everyone in this ensemble. Brilliant stuff. I really dig it.
Love hearing this song again. This musical won me over heart and soul. Really hope to make it back to London to see it at least once more.

hahah... damn, relax my friend. This song is from one of my favorite albums ever. It wasnt a comment on their talent. They obviously are all great. It was more of an observation of the high facial hair to suspenders ratio. I guess humor is a bit over your head.

I was pulled in by seeing Anais in front of the Mic, but was disappointed. She's one of the greatest songwriters ever, but she's an even better singer, and any single vocal Note sung by anyone but her is a waste of human value.
