    Too Good 💎

Thank you! I would suggest doing market research on which companies in your field pay well. For those companies, look at their current job openings that match your skillset and experience, and apply to the ones that interest you. Multi-national corporations can offer large salaries. Start-ups usually give stock-related incentives that have the potential to pay off in the future but also come with risk. For books, I would recommend Getting to Yes so you are all set for negotiating, and How to Win Friends and Influence People to help you make a strong impression and remind you to think from their perspective. I also have a video podcast episode with a Recruiting Leader with valuable tips to help you get hired: ruclips.net/video/YB_o_wb729c/видео.html. All the best!

@@neerajmathrani Thanks a Ton!! Actually i am a Hvac design engineer fresher, 1 confusion which i have was - while answering about my big career gap of 4 yrs due to family reasons in my field of AEC construction as engineer what should i say to not sound unprofessional in any way ? The hard skills which i learnt in 2019 internship period along with software's skills are still relevant but if the hiring manager asked what more have you learnt then what is the best answer ? Can i say i have watched many useful lectures on RUclips & attended webinars along with reading articles & books about my field, various sales, psychology books also..

You're welcome. For the gap, I personally default to honesty. For example, in your case, I would say you have a gap due to family reasons and leave it at that. Awesome to hear that you've been learning on the side! I suggest finding ways to showcase your learnings to potential employers e.g. certifications, part-time projects, blog entries, etc. Hope this helps!

@@neerajmathraniGot it ! But one of the RUclipsr whom i asked this question said there is a wide difference between Knowledge vs Skills and not to package knowledge as skills infront of recruiters so what's the solution ? Also 2nd important question - As you mentioned about highlighting 3 key skills which i developed so what can those be like ? you can say some apart from hard skills which i have that's still relevant.. Frankly for me i improved my English Communication skills, Analytical & Deep thinking ability, Sales lessons, Adaptability etc can i say these things or there has to be something else ??

Exactly! There is a difference between knowledge and skills. Hence my suggestion of having projects to show how you have converted your knowledge to skills (through some experience). For example, one can learn about game development. But if they build a game that a recruiter or hiring manager can actually play, they have demonstrated their skills. For your 2nd question - yes, you can talk about those skills. But again, think of ways to demonstrate them.
