ℹ️ About the Episode: The process of getting a new RV dialed in can be stressful at times. It's important to remember that all the problems come together right out of the gate. Luckily, the fridge fix from last week worked great! You'll have to watch this episode to find out why marinara sauce was splattered all over the floors! We used to call these "dips," but with more experience, we just call it RVing. We know there's going to be a lot of commentary about the Airstream dragging. We knew this would happen. Not all Airstreams need to be lifted, but with the tail swing of the 30' model combined with the height of the F250... it seems to happen at least once on each leg. We'll be visiting Ronnie soon, and a 3" lift is first on our list of mods. In fact, a lift is required for the Airkrafters on-board generator installation. Candidly, working through these issues is actually fun to share. It’s like that great line from Kevin Costner, who plays a rescue swimmer for the Coast Guard in the movie The Guardian: "The only difference between you and the victim is the attitude in which you enter the water.” We knew when selling our dial-in Flying Cloud and purchasing a new-to-us Airstream that we'd spend the first month (or two) working through problems and learning which cabinets fly open and just when to duck your head. Looking back at all our RV adventures, we don't remember the “dips” as much as we remember the places and people we've visited.

This week, I read in a book an explanation of what a mixed tape was, listened to a podcast that explained what "re-runs" were, and now I've seen a young adult ask what a dial tone is. Man, I'm feeling like a time-traveller from a distant age.

So ou rule is: the heavier the thing the lower it goes...
Cans and heavy jars always at the bottom...
May not be convenient but ot works !

Little tip! The basket you had on the shelf that flew open. If you put a clingy mat underneath, it would grip enough to prevent it from sliding and banging into the cabinet door. Or maybe little rubber nubs nubs under the basket would also work.

At Graceland, the VIP tickets can be a real benefit if you come on a day when it is packed, like during Elvis week or other special events that draw big crowds. I learned this during our visit a few years back from one of the gate attendants. I was going to buy the VIP experience and she said "Honey, save your money", advising the light crowds made one of the lessor packages the better buy, so your instincts were spot on.
I love the fact you set up camp with your Airstream using the cheapest chock blocks known to man. That is awesome 😂😂😂

The Elvis VIP tickets were 100% worth it. I went a few years ago for my first time to Memphis. I an so glad I splurged. I love elvis and always have. We had a small group and a personal tour guide that we could ask questions to and she gave us alot of tid bits that she's learned throughout her time working there. And the BEST part, we got to go to a VIP only exhibit and we got to touch one of Elvis' guitars! So so worth it! Even my husband loved it and he isn't a huge Elvis fan

Having started kayaking a few years ago I have discovered the utility of bungee cords! Buy a spool of 1/8" or 3/16" cord. Just anchor one on each side of the inside of the cabinet, maybe 1.5" high and an inch in. You prevent items from slamming the inside of the cabinet door. They beat the tension rod cuz they are easy to stretch out of the way for easy access!

We have a issue with the clip for our fridge. We use a bar to prevent the fridge from openning.
The final scene of the video reminds me so much of our granddaughters and them learning how things used to work. Ages 6 & 4 love getting phone calls on our Landline. It has taken them a while to learn how to hold a regular phone properly. Originally, I would get my sister to call and ask for them. Today, they asked if they could call and they both a chatty conversation with their great aunt. At Easter they discover a Bar of Soap! So when they arrived today, and had to wash their hands, so they could help make cookie (Chocolate Chip, some with sprinkles), they asked if they could use the Bar of Soap.

We have the exact same model airstream…we had the same problem with scraping below the bumper … my husband lowered the hitch ball one notch on the receiver and it leveled the rig bringing the back up…really helped…

Good solution. I'm down as far as I can go, but will remove the air. The F250 is so high. Lift happens next week.

Yes! I’ve been waiting for the Summer to Remember campaign! Can’t wait to order this year’s T-shirt!
My2023 Travel Lite Rover 16RB-my upgraded replacement of my 2014 Aliner Ranger 15 that was destroyed by snowstorm-bottomed out as well. I had a lift kit installed after My first trip. I had hoped for an Off-road version which wasn’t avail in 2023. Of COURSE it’s avail in the 2024 model…Arrrgh! How’re, I LOVE my 16RB’s dry bath! 🚽 🚿
Wow! Max looks so much like Mark! 👨🏻‍🦰
    Safe travels, and stay well!

You two always post entertaining stuff from your adventures on the road. I predict you'll love the SPAM museum. Perfect place to stock your pantry with cans of SPAM ... Don't forget to pick up the recipes they offer while there.

You are going to love the Spam museum. Lots of great information and they sell lots of Spam stuff that would go great in the airstream.

A old payphone we have them are in a few places in Toronto ON Canada. I feel the Airstream Tradewind will be super run over bumps into car parks light off road camping Airstream possibly could add little bump wheels for the back so they hit the ground, not the bumper

"You might lose your head" (Gorilla glue) "It's not blood, it's Marinara" (Mr Clean Eraser) Great video! Had to wait & watch, as our Grands just had their first visit in the Airstream. They stayed in Memphis & came to Charleston to visit Edisto Beach State Park. So I introduced Violet, Max & Cricket to KYD. Safe travels on to Sweet Home Alabama~ Wanda & Vinnie, Charleston SC

We were at a KY State Park Campground once that had a payphone. Our kids took pictures of it with their cellphones then hunted out a quarter to call Granny on a real 'old-timey' phone. 😂

We have the same trailer and the same thing happened with that top shelf (giant bottle of don Julio). Keep an eye on the microwave drawer. The inside part of the latch rotated to the 2oclock position in transit, walked inside to the microwave on the floor in pieces.

You had me at SPAM Museum! We have been there once, and we are going again in June we we hit our 2024 Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association convention. I LOVE Spam! My Darlin' Bride (of 52 years) tolerates it. And me. We are trying and hoping to go the the Spam Fest in Honolulu April 2025. Spam and eggs, tequila and orange juice.....Breakfast of Champions, Baby! Trish did a great job cleaning up the mess, but your supervising skills are MAGNIFICIENT!

Ya gotta lift that trailer. Maybe sumo springs? We are thinking about a 3" lift on ours. Or an axle flip and sumo springs.

Airstreams have a torsion axle. Dexter makes a standard 3" lift. Check out eTrailer. Fairly easy install too.

Drop the air in your bags when going through the dips and that may raise the back of the camper enough to clear.

If you lower the pressure in your airbags, you might not scrape on everything because it’ll raise the back into your rig. Love you guys. might be a little bit more safe than backing up out in traffic
