Always look forward to Sunday evenings. Our 12 year old daughter is battling aggressive brain cancer and her and I watch KYD together....brings us to our happy place and creates great memories.
@@KeepYourDaydream Thanks Marc and Trish. We love to RV as well, although not full timers. We live up in one of your favorite cities, Vancouver...but one of our favorite places to camp isn't far from Olympic, Deception Pass State park on Whidbey Island.
Dear Alex, I am so sorry to read about your daughter and her cancer. I am a stage 4 cancer survivor. It is a long hard journey. My biggest lesson learned it that I don't have to be strong. When you can't carry the load God carries you. Prayers for you both.
100% guilty pleasure, have to admit that one of my favorite parts as a married man is watching what Marc has Trish named in his phone this episode. Absolutely hilarious, I love it.
As a lifetime resident of Forks welcome to the Olympic Peninsula. I'm a log truck driver, I looked for your rig out here. I don't think you spent enough time on the Peninsula there is alot more to see, I hope you'll come back. BTW none of the Twilight movies were filmed in Forks. The books and movies were set here but nothing was filmed here. Also that place you had a hamburger (Three Rivers) was built by my grandparents when my dad was 5 years old in the early 50's. Love your videos.
Awesome video highlighting my “back yard”! I was raised on Lake Crescent and now live in the foothills of the ONP (BTW, there is no “Cascade Lake” in ONP, think Trish meant Lake Crescent). Love that you took the time to visit this remote NP and highlighted some of my favorite areas.
We loved your video! We live in Port Townsend and so sorry you couldn't make the ferry here! I am sure you have been reminded several times by now, you passed by Lake Crescent on your way to Sol Duc. We have been to the park hundreds of times and it is always fun to see a "newbies" view on our place. Keep it up!
Thank you for clearing that up Jayne. I’ve been through there twice, remember how incredible the lake was, and I was thinking, “wow, is Lake Cascade better than Lake Crescent?? How did I miss it?!” 😂
I love your videos, but this one and your Mt Rainier one was pretty special to me. I moved away from the Olympic Peninsula a year ago and it was wonderful to watch you at my favorite places on earth. I know some of those hikes and places you shared very well and miss them. Great video showcasing 2 very special national parks. Thank you.
I laughed out loud at "Frisky Biscuit" (and all the various names you use for Trish)! In November 1987, my first trip in my converted 1970 Ford Chateau 123, I went to Olympic NP. The weather was unseasonably dry and mild, and the park was empty and magical. Your video reminded me of it - a fantastic trip! Yes, the blog is great. I am about to get back on the road this fall heading to Washington (not in the 1970 Ford) and your videos, all the resources, inspiration and enthusiasm really help, thank you so much. AndiM
As I RV full time after selling my house, I will head to the Kitsap peninsula to visit my son in the Navy. I plan on spending several months exploring the west coast of Washington and Olympic NP while waiting for his ship to return from deployment. This was a great video and I enjoyed the Travel Guide (saved for future use). KYD is the best.
I couldn’t wait for today’s video! This summer 2022, we spent three days near Sol Duc Hot Springs (Olympia National Park). Childhood memories, our family camped here for several year. Spent a morning at Lake Crescent, paddle boarding. Wow, it is most definitely worth the stop at the Lake. The color of the water is mesmerizing. Hiked to the Sol Duc Falls. Spent time in the Hot Springs. (Make reservations). An awesome time with my daughter and her three littles. Another trip, did Forks WA. In the car was my cousin’s daughter, a total Twilight geek. It was a wonderful event to do and see through her eyes. The coastal beaches are all worthwhile. Breath taking. You would have enjoyed going to see Hurricane Ridge. I was very happy to see the meadow with deers wondering about. It’s just stunning. The Olympic National Parks, one would need 4 weeks, 1 week per quadrant. Hoh Rain forest, another world. I’m so sorry you did not get to ride the ferry over to Coupeville, WA and take the drive up Whidbey Island. Here is another week of camping at Deception Pass, exploring. On over to the North Cascade Loop, It’s another amazing road trip. Looking forward to your adventures. I was born and raised on Whidbey Island, I now live in the San Diego area. Washington is still home for me. ❤❤❤
Holy crap, this was right where I am! Live just outside Bremetron and camp the Olympics every year. Can't wait to retire in December and get out on the road.
Another great vlog ! We left Charleston & headed toward Fayetteville NC, to get the Airstream out of possible danger. Got pounded by rain & gusty winds, but no damage. Looking forward to your solar tutorial. Hubby would probably call me "Vicious biscuit" 😉
I hate to admit I loved seeing places that were connected to "Twilight" . I would love to visit Forks one day. The bridge reminded me of the one Bella & her Dad drove on coming into Forks when she 1st arrived to live with her Dad. I'd like to stay in a campground like Olympic National Park it's beautiful. I think Washington itself is a beautiful place. Enjoyed seeing you Trish, Mark, Caleb, & Charlie. Have a good week. .
Twilight was actually not filmed in Forks Washington. They only use the name for the town in the movie. Twilight was filmed around the Portland Oregon area and in the Vancouver Washington surrounding areas.
Nice to see you had a great time here in Washington! Looking forward to next week and your adventures in the North Cascades. Really surprised you caught my truck and trailer coming in on video. You must be fast on the draw with your phone. Thanks again to Trish for signing my wife's copy of her cookbook!
Thank you for clearing out and disposing of that fishing line. I don't understand why some people can't pick up after themselves. And thank you for all the excellent info.
We were in Olympic back in the spring. As it was so big, we split our stay into two segments. First, we stayed at Adams Bar Campground just south of the rainforest entry road. (KYD - You would have loved this off the grid hidden gem!) This let us do the rainforest then the coast to up Cape Flattery for the hike out to the farthest west point in the continental US. Then we moved to the KOA in Port Angeles to explore the north side of Olympic. Then we headed to North Cascades and were lucky enough to get a ferry reservation avoiding the long drive around Puget Sound. So much fun watching your visit having just been there!
Tiny hand!!! Wish Gary could have joined you for this one, too. I think Olympic and Bryce are my two favs of all. Well, besides the Smokies, cause TN is my home. Wonderful vid! Thanks so much... 🙂"Frisky Biscuit"...hahaha
Nice video. We were there 2 months ago. It's good to see some of the stuff again, glad you had a good time. We stayed at the Elks Lodge in Sequim to explore Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc with our Honda CRV. Then we moved to the Elks in Forks to explore the Hoh Rain Forest, along with La Push and Rialto beaches. We had great weather in August.
Love the recaps! Our Sunday ritual is to watch your family adventures. Love your family and the flashbacks. The boys were adorable and getting to watch them grow up is awesome. We feel like we know your family and glad that are part of ours. Love your marriage relationship that honors God and it shows. Much fruit! We live in Ahwatukee (Phx) and have a condo in Prescott. God bless and Godspeed.
You stayed in my home territory of Kitsap County! Yay. Costco and Trader Joe's right across the street from each other! So nice to see you exploring the PNW and the weather was fantastic (no rain) and is still great. We're camping this weekend in the PNW with 80 degree weather in October!
Absolute spectacular spectrum of Mt. Olympia...... What a wild wondrous of continuous road winding thru streams of water pathways & hiking galore. You never know what you may find (sand dollars, etc ?!) dipping in the pond like areas -- time is unmeasurable there with Mother Nature 🌲⛰️🌳🏞️🦮🥾
I have been watching your channel since the beginning and after being on a month long trip trying to emulate what you do, it’s a hell of a lot of WORK! Thank you for sharing all these videos. I truly enjoy your content and look forward to each episode.
Having just returned from a weeklong trip to the NY Finger lakes and Letchworth state park, I was thinking the same thing! My husband and I also stayed at 3 Harvest Hosts during the trip. There was a lot of planning but it was worth the effort. Definitely nice to stay at one place for a few days to take in all the sites. One night stays involve travel time and sometimes very little time to explore the beauty a region has to offer. I really appreciate the efforts of the KYD family! Also, on a trip to the PNW, I really enjoyed Ruby Beach , Hoh Rainforest and Lake Crescent at Olympic National Park. Beautiful part of the USA.
I love watching your weekly adventures! I camped (in a tent) in Olympic Nat'l Park decades ago (1982) with a friend when we were traveling from the midwest to visit my brother who lived in Portland OR. I LOVED Olympic Nat'l park and the best thing I remember about the park, besides the huge trees, was that. as long as you've got enough dimes, you can take a LONG HOT SHOWER! ;) Thanks for the memories!
This is my area! Lived in Port Angeles most of my life. So glad you enjoyed it. ONP is huge! Lots of mountains to skirt around. It is Crescent Lake. We spent many lazy weekends”at the lake.”
Welcome to our corner of paradise!! There is nothing like the Sol Duc area in the summer. The smell of warm cedar trees is intoxicating!! Glad you made it back!! The road that follows Crescent Lake and goes down the coast is the one I taught my hubs to drive a TT.. in a 25mph side wind! Adventure!
Isn't Washington gorgeous!!!! Welcome to my home state! You have visited some of the the most beautiful places I LOVE!!! Olympia and Rainier are special. And NOTHING beats the Washington Coast! welcome!
Olympic was the highlight of our summer roadtrip. Amazing beaches, rainforest and mountains. Hot tip, check the tide schedules when going to the beaches and plan the rest of your visits around the park around that. Absolutely amazing. We did low tide at salt Creek rec area, low tide sunset at Rialto beach, low tide at second beach. Sunset at hurricane ridge was also amazing. Hope you got to see Sol Duc falls while you were at the campground. That part of the rainforest blew me away compared to Hoh. Also we couldn't get reservations for the ferry 3 weeks in advance from coupeville to Port Townsend. We ended up waiting in line most of the day before we got on.
We have been watching you guys for years. You guided us with the best advice and tips and head ups. Really love all you’re summaries. Very informative. Love you guys. Thanks so much. ❤ Laurie and Denise
We have been following you guys for awhile. Love this video! It’s HOME! We were born and raised in Bremerton and grew up camping in Olympics. Years ago we backpacked across the the Olympics. When our kids moved out 4 years ago, we sold our house (that had a view of the Olympics) and took a job transfer to DC. Retirement is in 2 years and planning on going back and getting a truck and 5th wheel to start seeing the country. We learn so much from you guys and just got your Digest today!! Thanks!
My childhood stomping grounds. I'm thrilled you all took in and enjoyed our gorgeous part of the world. Lake Crescent (summer camp), lake Sutherland (cabin), lived at the former lake Mills for a time (natural hot spring pools), etc., etc.... The Pacific Northwest has everything thanks to our relatively mild seasons. As a child, like most other children, I did not fully appreciate the splendor of the PNW. That said, I couldn't survive living in the west end of the peninsula. It's a bit too wet and cold for me. When this was filmed the ferry system was a total mess. They were short staffed and down a few vessels, causing the cancelation of nearly half of their normally scheduled sailings. Hopefully WSF will be back to normal operations starting summer 2023. Yes, reservations are strongly advised. During peak season in Washington, most RV parks and campgrounds are full. If you can't get on a ferry you'll be staying the night in a parking lot. We all know many of the free to stay overnight parking lots are disappearing. The homeless have inundated these parking lot, forcing business owners to no longer allow over night stays. Cheers!
As soon as we finish our tour of the states, we hope to end up on the Olympic Penninsula. Can't wait! Thanks for the preview. Real trees with real moss! What a concept!
We were at Olympic NP in June. Stayed at Elks in Forks for 3 days of touring on the coast and the Hoh Rain Forest. Fun day trip to Neah Bay and Cape Flattery Trail. Finally saw a Banana Slug! Did you check out the Forks Timber Museum? Moved to Elks in Sequim for another 3 days of touring on the north. Hurricane Ridge, Hurricane Hill and Sol Duc area. The port Townsend ferry crossing was fun. Spent the day on Whidbey Island then onto North Cascades NP. Great to see your pics and then ours of the same spots.
From a weather aspect, you couldn't have picked a better time. We've had an unusually warm and dry September here in the Pacific Northwest. It's been record setting, and epic. The cone was a full-size Douglas Fir. Forks, WA is where the Twilight movies were "Set," but they were actually filmed on the Oregon coast.
Great highlights from the ONP. We call this the Upper Left, USA. Sorry we missed you guys. We were in Sequim, WA just down the road. FYI, a correction - it's Lake Crescent. 😎
Your national park series is great. Making my list for when I can take longer than 1 week at a time. By the way, for your National Park stamps, when I make mistakes I make a copy onto a label and stick the label in the right place or right-side up. Or if I forget my book and have to use one of their little pieces of paper, a copy on a label works a lot better than a lot of tape.
May I say, you guys are next level RUclipsrs. We have watched your channel for a while. I have Trish's cookbook, which i hope to meet one day to have it signed. Obsessed with spices. Love how real you guys are. Thank you. Until the next videos.
This is the episode where we finally caught up! Can't believe it, we started watching you guys a year ago...maybe longer? Feels like forever at this point. Your boys have gone from babies to men (we have three boys so it's always emotional when you do the flashbacks!) But now that we're caught up we can't just "put on some KYD" whenever we want, unless we wanna go re-runs! But honestly it's fitting, because we are in the process of purchasing our first RV and starting our own adventures. Hope to see you out on the road one day! P.S. Has anyone else told you that they sing the name of your channel to the tune of "PYT" by Michael Jackson? We can't say KYD without doing that 😆
I am really happy to see that I am not the only one still playing Candy Crush!!!! We are having to live vicariously through y’all right now. It’s been so long since we have been camping. Loos so beautiful up there.
My wife messes up the stamps and cancelations in our book as well. They way I look at it, the pictured "stamp" goes in the space where there writing is and the "cancelation" goes in the blank space. It adds character to our book, you can tell who had the book at each park.
My wife did travel nursing for a short time and we lived in Port Orchard and got to visit all that great stuff out there. Only seeing a small section of Olympic is one of our regrets! That park is so big! If you're in the area again, go to Sluy's in Poulsbo and get a viking cup! Its my favorite pastry I've ever had. Google it! Loved that area and miss it. This video will have to hold me over until we can get back up there!
@@rosc2022 yeah the Viking cups are killer. I'm not sure why we didn't go back and try more while we were still in the area. Hopefully I get another chance.
A little jealous! My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Olympic and absolutely loved it. We are hoping we can make up there again next summer and spend a couple weeks in the Pacific Northwest.
Love you guys... Wish I could go Camping... My 3500 Cummins Ram was Rear ended a Month ago and Ins. Totalled it.... uuuugh.. I Hate looking for another Truck, loved mine.. Keep it up Guys !!!!
We camped in this same area in August. It was magnificent! Looks like we just missed you by a few weeks. 😆 There is so much to see and do. Thanks for highlighting all the beauty of our amazing Pacific Northwest.
WHAT!? We have been watching you for years, and shortly after we move to Knoxville, TN you stop off in my home town! Our home was about 5 minutes away from the Trader Joe's, and I worked at the Submarine Base. 😂
My wife and I are fulltime working Rvers for the past three years. She always gives me flak for watching other people doing what we are already doing lol! But I love it, I love watching how you check in and pack up and think about gas stations and planning and how to keep a positive attititude and be flexible. Great content as always.
Really special seeing your tour of the Olympics. I grew going to Sol Duc with my folks trailer camping and now get to do it with my kids. September is our special time of the year as the majority of tourists are gone and the weather is amazing. Hiking up to Sol Duc Falls and Deer Lake is a must for people that enjoy hiking.
yall are awsome, so much helpful imfomation, so much deffern scenery your trully blessed and letting others come along seeing, and learning what to expect. have a blessed week!
Excellent! My wife and I spent a week in Olympic last year and had a magical time. We no longer RV, so we had a couple of AIRBNB places to roam from and they worked out fine. Just love your creative channel. Can't wait to see Glacier. We've been denied 3 times so far! One year smoke / fire closed the park, another year a late snow kept us away and the last attempt from Bozeman was denied because there were NO rental cars available for the entire summer! Yet, we're keeping our daydream and we will get there!
My ancestors lived in the forks area for 250 years (the English side). My Indian heritage has been the a millenia! I still have 40 or so relatives up there.
Loved this week’s episode! My husband & I live in Edmonds and spend so many weeks tent camping on the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands that we consider the whole area our huge summer home and playground. Will try that little cafe where you got burgers-always packed. Great place to pick up firewood. Down on the reservation there is a nice restaurant that has a hearty breakfast. Got back from Glacier 2 weeks ago so I look forward to that episode. Hopefully the smoke will have cleared for you. Did towards the end of our 10 day trip. Been wearing my Summer to Remember t-shirt everywhere. ps. We don’t tent camp in bear country-ain’t stupid. So many state parks in the west have great little cabins and yurts. Armed with bear spray we are good to go. Be safe and thanks for bringing KYD to the NW
Beautiful. I was just there 2 weeks before you. Bummed I missed you guys. Love your adventures. I caught the Hall of Mosses trail as a ranger was taking a group through and learned so much about the area. Love your positivity. So refreshing.
We did Olympic at the end of June and loved it! There is just so much diversity and so many things to see. It sounds like you're following our exact route we took a few months ago!
Always love it when I see travel videos in my home state. BTW even though the Twilight books were based in Forks, the Twilight movie series was not actually filmed in Forks, WA. Most of the film set locations were in Oregon and around Vancouver, Canada. Glad you enjoyed the area. Cheers.
Always look forward to Sunday evenings. Our 12 year old daughter is battling aggressive brain cancer and her and I watch KYD together....brings us to our happy place and creates great memories.
Hi Alex, tell your daughter that we'll keep her in our thoughts. Stay strong. At the end of the day, we just want to make people smile.
@@KeepYourDaydream Thanks Marc and Trish. We love to RV as well, although not full timers. We live up in one of your favorite cities, Vancouver...but one of our favorite places to camp isn't far from Olympic, Deception Pass State park on Whidbey Island.

I agree it is fun
I agree! I’ve been looking every episode! Hilarious!
Sugar Booger was my favorite - I love the shout out to Jimmy Neutron.
I was wondering if anyone else caught that Marc does that! I laugh every time and show my wife. It's something I would do too! lol
I am not a married man and 100% agree. I’m not totally ditching my theory it could be a means of sending a code of some sort 🤣
Frisky Biscuit 😂 love the little easter egg name changes you do for Trish
Are they really the name for Trish? That remains debatable.

I’m here at 8 PM on the dot every Sunday… Counting down the days until my airstream is delivered next spring.
Thank you!
We have been watching you guys for years. You guided us with the best advice and tips and head ups. Really love all you’re summaries. Very informative. Love you guys. Thanks so much. ❤
Laurie and Denise
Love your Sunday videos, I really appreciate the recaps, the information y’all give us about the different parks. It’s all good ❤
We have been following you guys for awhile. Thanks!
My old stomping grounds!! Great video! I love the beach, especially Cannon Beach! Enjoy!
Cheers!
Was there 4 weeks ago with our F450 9.6 Northern Lite Camper. We stayed at Mora Campground! So many amazing beaches!
Love when you show clips of the kids when they were young. Brought tears to my eyes😢
As soon as we finish our tour of the states, we hope to end up on the Olympic Penninsula. Can't wait! Thanks for the preview. Real trees with real moss! What a concept!
Really loved this video. Family time..precious.
Love this season!
I always love watching your videos. Thanks for letting us to tag alone !
when you hit coupville, Tobys tavern has the best bar food in Washington State. Great view from the bar also.
❤ Beautiful trip thru the park. Hope your new home in Florida is okay! 🙏 🙏🙏
Olympia is so beautiful! One of my favorites
They also filmed at the high school down in Kalama.
Happy Sunday funday KYD Family!!!
Great highlights from the ONP. We call this the Upper Left, USA. Sorry we missed you guys. We were in Sequim, WA just down the road. FYI, a correction - it's Lake Crescent. 😎
12:15 Douglas fir cone, because of the three-toed bracts sticking out.
If you ever come back to the Olympic Peninsula stay at Saltcreek Campground. We consider this one of the best places to stay while out west.
You are always the finish to my “See you next Sunday” RUclips day!
Love following y’all’s adventures!
May I say, you guys are next level RUclipsrs. We have watched your channel for a while. I have Trish's cookbook, which i hope to meet one day to have it signed. Obsessed with spices. Love how real you guys are. Thank you. Until the next videos.
Not sure if this is KYD or not.
Love the acoustic Get Lucky.
It's our go-to no internet game :) Level 260 or something lol. Addicted again dang it!
My wife messes up the stamps and cancelations in our book as well. They way I look at it, the pictured "stamp" goes in the space where there writing is and the "cancelation" goes in the blank space.
It adds character to our book, you can tell who had the book at each park.
Yes Marc all you share is helpful. You videos are done so well.
Viking cup? Will check it out. I think Sluy's Swedish Fruit Rolls are to die for!
@@rosc2022 yeah the Viking cups are killer. I'm not sure why we didn't go back and try more while we were still in the area. Hopefully I get another chance.
What a lovely episode. The coast is magically surprising!
Just marched in the Appleharvest parade, now it’s KYD and chill time.....
14:58 the Best SQUIRREL sighting yet made me smile
A little jealous! My wife and I went on our honeymoon to Olympic and absolutely loved it. We are hoping we can make up there again next summer and spend a couple weeks in the Pacific Northwest.
Love you guys... Wish I could go Camping... My 3500 Cummins Ram was Rear ended a Month ago and Ins. Totalled it.... uuuugh.. I Hate looking for another Truck, loved mine.. Keep it up Guys !!!!
How beautiful!! Look forward to your Sunday videos.
We camped in this same area in August. It was magnificent! Looks like we just missed you by a few weeks. 😆 There is so much to see and do. Thanks for highlighting all the beauty of our amazing Pacific Northwest.
If you’re still in Washington and have time, a must go to visit place is Leavenworth.
Love all of Trisha’s nicknames!! So funny😂!
WHAT!? We have been watching you for years, and shortly after we move to Knoxville, TN you stop off in my home town! Our home was about 5 minutes away from the Trader Joe's, and I worked at the Submarine Base. 😂
I should have honked. Next time!
Great episode!
Your videos are EPIC for different reasons. Thanks for sharing and as always stay safe, safe travels, and God bless love ya Nancy
yall are awsome, so much helpful imfomation, so much deffern scenery your trully blessed and letting others come along seeing, and learning what to expect. have a blessed week!
Great season thus far. Looking forward to Glacier. Helpful tips for sure keep them coming. Safe travels. Cya next Sunday.
Happy Sunday!
So glad to see a fellow iKamper in the video!
St. Pete should be in fair shape. Lost power for a couple of days just north east of there.
Cheers.
That is an organized guy! Love Caleb haha
The hand has returned!! Thanks Trish!
I'm from Sequim WA, I love that whole area, you can literally spend a month and not run out of things to see.
My In-Laws lived in Seguim from the late 80' to 2012 when they passed. Lavender festival was fun and the whole surrounding area.
