  • A method for burning three boards at once. Wire is tied around both ends, and despite being horizontal, the force of the propane gas gives enough of a chimney effect to evenly coat the boards.
    This is typically done by holding it over a fire or holding it vertically, but with 10 foot boards it becomes somewhat difficult with just one person working.

    Whats the purpose of burning the boards, i saw a home reno video and they did it and thought they did it for the aesthetic

    Do you burn both sides or is the front enuf?

      Only the front

      @@cheffsolo7739 more work, more warping if you did, and it is often good practice to only waterproof 1 side of a material that can hold moisture, so that any moisture that does get in can easily escape still from the other side (similar with concrete)
