The problem with most covers is they usually miss the deeper element, the truth of the song, which cannot be faked. in this cover the pathos is loud and clear - well done.

This is my second experience hearing Julian do a cover. Never have I heard a musician make a song their own with such respect, originality, and humility.

That's quite a remarkable comment considering many bands have made a career and much success from covering Bob Dylan songs. As a 'huge fan' which you quite boldly declare, I would have thought any kind of tribute to Dylan would be of interest surely?? ...But maybe that's just me? From another ' huge' Dylan fan👍

I just love this girl.
I'm just going to join the chorus of people who hate B. Dylan covers. This one however, is soulful and original. A breath of fresh air. This is what you wish a Dylan cover would sound like. Love it.
I was blown away by this beautiful cover. Shivering all over. It's marvelous.
This is a bitter sweet song ... a burial eulogy through compassionate eyes of love.
She started with a pure heart, adored by some, a prize to snare by others. She ended in the graveyard where we hear the mourning of someone who loved her, understood her, understood those around her.
A sad life now ended ... Her hopes, her love and all her giving had been used to destroy her through their selfish nefarious manipulation. Now the one who really did love her eulogizes the tragedy of her life ... her hopes, her inner beauty, her trust ... all crushed under the boot heels of finality ... another dead angel is buried

I'm a huge Dylan fan and collector since more than 35 years. His music is a major part of my life. I just came across this cover and was blown away. This is one of the most beautiful renditions of a Dylan song that I have ever heard, with great guitar playing and an amazing voice. It brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could sit down in a music club in Greenwich Village with a good drink or two and just listen to you for a couple of hours.

I had a book of all Dylan's lyrics back in '74 (yeah, I know, it's doubled by now at least) - anyway, I remember reading the lyrics for Sad Eyed Lady and thinking it was possibly the most beautiful song Dylan had written. I still feel that way, but was always disappointed by all the recordings of it - even Dylan's, and Baez's and Havens'. This..... THIS is it! It's perfect! Thank you so much Juliana Daily! I found this yesterday, and have listened to it at least 30 times.

When I first commented six years ago, my own Sad-Eyed Lady was in the early stages of a lengthy battle with cancer, which finally took her a little over a year ago, after 47 years of marriage. I now must try to live with the memory of her saint-like face, and the feeling of her ghost-like soul living in my heart. Ms. Daily, your beautiful rendition of this masterpiece again brings me to tears - good tears, holy tears. Thank you.

I've been mesmerized by this song for over a half a century and I'm blown away to find it's all just C F G(7) and Dm.
Still love this rendition. It is the imagery of a burial and eulogy of someone dear who was used by others in her life who never really cared. deliberately manipulated & controlled and conquered ... all the while, the one who truly cared, saw her from afar with no opportunity to connect, watched with compassion as her life was destroyed.

Who would have thought this song could be expressed with such placid beauty... The music in Dylan's strident version churns crude, but here that haunting melody is utterly unlocked with such simple emotion. It somehow flows directly through the headphones to some special place in my brain. Really nice.

Just discovered your version 6 years too late but sitting here reminiscing about a Winter weekend in 1971 that I spent with friends in a cottage in the Scottish Highlands with us sitting around playing Dylan songs on guitars, mandolins, fiddles, piano and cello - cosy in front of a roaring log fire while the snow blanketed the ground outside. I fell in love that night ... and I've just done it again.

One of my all time favourite Dylan songs. Over time, I have listened to so many covers of this, and your is in the top three.
