These two fellas have what is called TALENT. Make no mistake. Singer, song writer and lyricist. Their voices are exceptional. Age has not diminished their vocal talents. Give a good listen. You will be impressed as I am.
Couldn't agree more .
Just to put it out there that Mr Cook is my uncle and I’m so proud of him. ❤️
I thought that he was just the singer from Blue Mink..I didn't realise that he was a musical genius..You should be so proud of him..
Please say that as a fellow Bristolian l am proud of him too
He is a genius , sadly he will miss his friend John Prine ❤.
Glad you are soo proud of him. ❤
He seems like a great guy.
I admire your Uncle greatly and listen to him on You Tube often. What a songwriter and singer, and a very nice man.
What a great performance .
This is what i call music.fantastic
A truly great song
David and Jonathan!!! Great singers. Great songwriters!
By golly, these guys were good.
Two of the best songwriters ever.
I have the highest respect for these two amazing talents, and I am so proud to have both known and worked with them in the 1970's.
Wow. What did you do with them?
@@grouchosays I was signed up by Roger Cook in 1973, and later managed by Roger Greenaway. I was part of "The Moone Brothers" I am also very proud to have sung backing vocals, together with Roger Greenaway, on many Hit records by the "Drifters" in the mid 1970's. "There Goes My First Love", "Can I Take You Home Little Girl" etc...
@@stevemoonecovers Great!!!
You’re so lucky!
@@treaclelester7285 Yes I Was
A beautiful song performed beautifully. I actually love it when live performers make little mistakes. Like Elvis with I just can't help believing.
What a wonderful 60s Song this is.
Amazing
Love this song, left the arm off .if you know you know
2:11 perfect vocals
Age did not diminish these musical giants. 😊👍
EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE SO SMOOTH,THEY STILL GOT IT!
These two are absolute legends.
As somebody brought up on late fifties and sixties music the Cook Greenaway duo were the best in the business so many great songs written and performed by them, thanks for the post. Another pair that they collaborated with Les Reed and Barry Mason between them made great music in that era great memories
Done some research on Robin Cook & Roger Greenway & flabbergasted at the amount of songs they both wrote.
They Are on par with Lennon & McCartney. Lots of classics by Blue mink, The Fortunes, The Drifters, Sunny, Gene Pitney & White Plains to name a few.
Saw the Fortunes at the Sunderland Empire a few times recently with the 'Sixties experience' tour.
Can't wait till they are back. Thanks for the hits.
@barryspencer2681 Hi Barry, here's a link to my Cook and Greenaway UK/US charr database. Your be amazed the amount of songs they composed, produced, or sung. Enjoy! www.songwriters.mysite.com/cookawaycharts.html
This is real talent. These guys started out in the 1950s and they can still perform wonderfully. Add to that their prodigious songwriting and you can see just how much thay have contributed to the music industry.
Best collaborators in the business. Sorry typo
The fellows are amazing. They have written so many hits. I am humbled to even listen to them.
such talented song writers
Wonderful.xx
Thanks for posting your nice comments. The Rogers do not promote or boast about their achievements. However I do my best to show the world how good they are!
You do a wonderful job. It's so good that the world gets to share in their amazing achievements.
@MrSteveMoone I've enjoyed their music over the years, so sharing is my appreciation of enjoyment towards them. Cheers Steve
WOW
What an amazing (and yet so unsung) songwriting team they were/are. I would be so proud to have written just one song of such quality, and they have written so many! Fantastic melodies, lyrics and production on all their compositions, we will never see their like again.
Amazing musicians & composers. Thank you.
They sound even better live than they did on their recording of this song...Great to hear the writers sing their song!

Great!!! Thank you John for posting. Two icons of the pop music.
I know the song well and always thought there's no better version than that of the Fortunes.....I stand corrected.
Thanks a lot for posting this. After such a long time these great songwriters and performers back together on stage.
Greetings to Ingo from The Fortunes' German Fanclub.
thanks John for posting this song, I love this song
Ingo from Germany
...and Roger Cook composes on his ukulele !
Funny that, I went to see him in his office back in the early 70s and he showed me this little uke that he composes his songs on, very nice unassuming guy.
They both did.
@@stevemoonecovers Indeed they both did but, Greenaway also composed on piano. Thanks for the comment.
Bravo!
Great song, think Rod Allen late of the fortunes has the edge.
Yes, on their 60's album. Snippet found on my home page songwriters.4t.com (see cookaway discography with sound clips of over 2000 songs). Best John
Why these two men have not received knighthoods is beyond me.
@@barryspencer2681 Roger has an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire). However its not for his music achievements, but for his hard work within the music industry.
Did not Peter & Gordon put a cover out in the 60's of this song????

Hi Ingo - Happy New Year. Glad you like the video. Many more to come. Keep checking my youtube name. Best John
