I wish this could be an *ACTUALLY* cheap format, like it used to be. I miss seeing my Dad taking our family photos on his Kodak, and showing me how easy it was to take the film in and out. I think an encased artridge is a GREAT idea for a film delivery method, (kindif like how minidiscs had a tiny cd inside that you never had to touch!). I just wish there was a way that the price could reflect the performance and the purpose better. Maybe if other copanies would take the plunge we could see this, but …….. C”MON FUJI WAKE UP!!! I’m actually hoping some of the Chinese manufacturers will be reviving film even more in the future. It seems there is some promise of this with film manufacturing. *fingers crossed* Peace.

I have a trouble with this camera. Blank frames. 2-3 in each film. I sent an email to lomography. Their answer: It could be that the shutter was not pressed long enough to hear the double click sound then advancing after.
Right now, I don’t have trouble, I think it should be pressed much than you think.
Also, Lomography support team is great! Quick responses. And they sent me 3 film rolls for the troubles and texted me, if I still have the same problem, they will change a camera.

I've heard of this problem with other cheaper old point and shoots, with a lot of them holding down the shutter button for at least a full second is usually a good idea.

Even when they were easily available on the market in the 80s I hated this format. The cartridge is user error proof but nothing else was good about it. Doesn’t look like it’s improved. I guess it’s not a bad thing that these things can have a new life for a new generation but I’m happy to keep this format in the past. Nice video though.

110 is fun to shoot, but a small point and shoot 35mm or half frame 35mm is more practical, and should give better image quality. When I was a kid I had a 110, and every lab handled 110 on a daily basis so it wasn't that expensive for development and prints- scans were still far in the future back then. $40 for one roll is yikes! I scanned a roll for a friend one time- I will not do that again. :P

too a little people shoot this format, that why it's expensive... :(

I have an old Olympus PEN FT half frame and other than taking forever to shoot 72 images I loved it and the results were fantastic.

I have an old Pentax Auto 110 camera. It is a very small typical 35mm SLR in form and has interchangeable manually focusable lenses. I recently brought it out and used it using the Lomography film. The results were actually pretty good but I also had the frame spacing issues you had. I was going to blame this almost 30 yr old camera but after seeing your results I'm now thinking it is Lomography and their film cassettes. I will try it again and hope they have solved their issues if that is indeed where the problem lies

    I love all your videos!!
But personally, as long as the price of film, processing, and scanning stays high, I'll shoot for high IQ, and I'll stick with my thrifted Minolta 7000, Nikon F90, or Canonet QL17.

I remember when this film format was used by every toy camera aimed at children. I guess that association will live in my mind forever 😂

7:36 I have a 110 camera with that advancing/framing issue and three other 110 cameras that seem to do just fine. It may be that the one you got was just a dud.

SAM, first off, if you shoot film, you will ALWAYS have friends around you, RUclips especially, as it allows all members of the film community to talk to each other (like the phone in the 1950's); one interesting quirk of the MINOX B cameras (what this looks like its based off of), that Multi-exposure switch is IMPORTANT, as these style of 'spy' cameras wind film when you shut it, so if you don't take a shot, but open and think 'not' then you will waste a shot if you just shut it! so this allows you to shut without winding a frame on.

    @andyvan5692 2 дня назад

one tip, with this style of advance, you need to do it firmly, not to fast, and ALL the way, don't hesitate, otherwise it will lead to those frame spacing issues. Also it could be an issue with the tension of the film itself, aka a lose spool?, can happen; but this is just what occur when using a small manual camera; my hasselblad 500c\m has quirks to, like shutter speed for the size (when to use a tripod), and light leaks in the magazines (I just got a roll done where I did get some light leaks), oh well, just one cost of ownership, that each of us has to bear.

yes, Sam, at 12:20 you are right, thats why the minox B was a system, the reloadable cassettes, dev. tank, all together, so you could do it yourself. and a Question, in the negatives we see a CN200 is this saying we need to use ECN-2 process to develop it?

I bought one of the metal models when they first came out. I then bought the reel to fit my Jobo tanks - so I develop it at home. I have ran a couple rolls through it and it is fun to use. My friend's 9 year old loves the thing so she uses it the most. I was looking for a "everday carry" camera - and this was going to be it, but then I bought a Pentax 17.

I've watched a lot of review on the Pentax 17, looks like a solid camera, but again, it's quite expensive... 😅

@@itscapturedbysam I have been quite happy with it! It takes great photos and is nice to use. I wanted to stop carrying my Fuji GS645W everywhere as it is more expensive, and more fragile and my old Minolta HiMatics are temperamental. Keep up the great work!
