Hi Sam your videos make me smile they’re so fun and just remind me of why we take pictures not for money or clout just for the simple fact we want to create great art 🖼️
I enjoy seeing your pictures made in China. They give us Americans a realistic view of life in China that is unavailable through mainstream media. Thank you.
5207 is pretty amazing. I was introduced to it by my friend when I just started film cos regular film was just too expensive. I'm amazed by Kodak Vision3 series in general. The dynamic range is crazy and allows for lots of pushing.
Marvelous images. I love the pastel quality of them while retaining the crispness. The Portra 800 images with the Pentax and the 105mm are outstanding.
I scanned my first roll of 500t a week ago. I was so impressed by the quality! I shot a lot of night photos and there was no muddy-ness or tinting in the shadows. It renders very sharp as well. I was shooting 35mm and it seemed very smooth and sharp for 500 iso
I just started shooting film this year but never really thought about portraits becuase I've been more interestedd in capturing "In the moments"...this video has me reconsidering! Thank You!
The 二宝 camera store is where i got my first analog camera, a Minolta SRT 101, in 2017. I even have their WeChat all the time. Never thought i would see them mentioned in a RUclips video and they're well alive and mainly selling Instax's nowadays. Sad the owner says no for a picture 😂😂 Very nice and soothing content! Looking forward for part 3!
Your photo's are so beautiful and I love your enthusiasm! Could you tell me what kind of artificial light you used with the model inside and how you filled the room with light? (when she was in the blue dress sitting on the bed) Would really help me learn!
its a pretty regular LED light, I didn’t catch the brand, but I used a simple godox 60w LED would do the same thing.. if budget allows, I recommend amaran LED light, you can even get the full colored one, it’s pretty fun to play with.
I just used some Vision 250D (Flic Film Vision 3) in NY for the first time and I absolutely love it!!! I want to shoot a lot more motion picture film now 🔥
yes, an easy mistake, but one way to remember how: you load up, then wind {SMALL knob!} the film until it stops, DON'T touch it until later on, then wind the 12 (6x6) or 16 (6x4.5) exposures on; depending on which back (12-on/A12 or the A24 backs) using the LARGE winding crank, once this 'locks up' you take the SMALL knob and wind off (from one spool, the backing paper to the other spool completely)- no tension on the small winder. Another tip, I ALWAYS use the darkslide, it is the shutter lock, so don't remove it until the second before the shot! so even placing the cable release on won't set it off accidentally.
@@itscapturedbysam one more tip, if this happens again, get the camera/back serviced, as one other cause of it is that the gear on the mag is stripped, or something is not fitting correctly, so the gears don't mesh well, thats the main reason for a 1/2 frame advance! (that a tooth slipped in the gearing, so the two became out of sync); Also make sure the camera is wound on, before the back goes on, if the camera is at half cock, that can cause a mis sync to.
Thanks for your video, wondering if you have any experience ordering film from Taobao and shipping out the country, just skeptical if there is any impact from X-ray when passing thru so many different customs
Portra 800 on medium format is my fav. Really not as grainy as on 35mm. It is norrmal :). The size of grain stays the same same on 35mm but the film is bigger thus it looks smaller and sharper (I think lol)
Jesus how do you get Kodak Vision 3 in 120 format? I thought that this is only possible in 35mm film. Im trying to find more info about "Alien Film" but i dont get anything. Btw i love the video
No it's always the camera's fault. Kidding aside, Hasselblad film back is known for the spacing issue after a while. That's why they need to service annually or at least every couple years.
I think it also comes down to how it’s scanned and edited.. I think? … that being said, my Kodak Gold 200 is the same, 35mm always looks much yellow thank then 120
I don't know Sam I am not crazy about the color of this film. I much prefer the good old standard portrait film. You guessed it Portra 160 or 400. Also I wonder of you can make something out of those double exposures. An artistic collage maybe.
It’s interesting to see people have different opinions about the color, I’ve received several comments about the color has too much blue tint in it~ I’ll try to rescan these myself and see how the color turns out~
The "ruined shots" actually have a bit of artistic flare
I really enjoyed how colorful the attire and background are in these photos. Really feels like these photos could have come out of the 1980s
I really enjoy the color too.. but I receive several comments saying they don’t like the green ish tint in the skin tone~ which is interesting.. 🧐
Lovely portraits. It’s not just your technical expertise. You seem to always develop an instantly positive rapport with your subjects.

Thank you ☺️
I love these shots so much. Fantastic work! Great model, too. I shall try 250D out soon.
I always love discovering a new video by you, I got some 250D too and will shoot it on my trip to Japan, I hope it will turn out as well.
Have fun!!

I don’t shoot much 35mm anymore, but still I’m impressed by how sharp it could turn out with these films~
I just started shooting film this year but never really thought about portraits becuase I've been more interestedd in capturing "In the moments"...this video has me reconsidering! Thank You!
I'm so happy to hear that!! Hope you enjoy taking portraits!!
I love how the pictures came out
That was a good networking event. Your videos are so well put together.
Thank you as always~
Great photos Sam! I’ve only tried motion picture film on 35mm but now I want to try it on 120
i really like the multi exposure shots. the three overlayed was lovely.
I kind find them interesting as well~ haha
Wow you are an amazig photographer , so nice picturs
And the pastel quality you give to your picturs is so pleasing , inspiring
Looks so much fun! Sorry for the image lapses but images still looked great to me. Great shots!! 😍
Thanks so much! 😊
Fantastic shots and video! Your model also did a great job and very beautiful!❤
Omg! I had this same issue when I borrowed my friend’s Hasselblad (the overlapping images).
Quickly become my favourite film and photography channels. Love the vids as always. Big biiiiiiig fan!
Thaaaaaaank you 🥰
Can you share your video LUT? Colors looks awesome!

Right?! I was surprised by how big that store is in my hometown.. which is not a very big city 😂
@@itscapturedbysam I always thought they were just a tiny warehouse in the middle of nowhere! But it looks like they are doing really good businesses.
it's ok to make mistakes. I still the enjoy the photos. The colors are fantastic. Makes me want to shoot 250D more.
Very nice photographs. In LA you can get drum scanning, which makes better scans than the Hasselblad Imacon scanner.
I've seen that online, never saw that in real life, that'd be fun to look into~
更新啦!終於看到sam 說電影菲林了
I need 250D in medium format. That would be amazing
Nice episode, Sam! Really like your photos ✨

Meeee too.. I just got figured out how to process them myself now~
Wow really?! thats awesome I need to learn how do that to 👌🏾 Would love to see you make a video about that 🫣

Hi. Sam. Do you develope the film by yourself? By the way, your English is so authentic nearly without any accent
Thank you so much~
RUclips finally suggested someone new and interesting! o/ Great video!
Love the window shots! Awesome video
Thank you 😊
在相機店交到新朋友很棒!!!!!
我也蠻喜歡250D 電影底片!

Wow. Your video are so good. What software do you use to convert negative to positive. Thank you.
I normally use Negative Lab Pro, but these photos in this video were converted by the Lab..

That makes so much sense!!
Great selection off photographs
Thank you :)
@@itscapturedbysamI WANT TO TRY THIS SORT OF PORTRAITS WITH THE NIKON D750 WHEN I EVENTUALLY PURCHASE IT.
Getting more familiar with your gear will help.
Most definitely 🤓
I NEED THIS FILM
Oh wow I might have to try this out!
It’s a beautiful film indeed

哈哈我第一次用hasselblad出来的结果就是很多重合的😅
有网友说是哈的过片容易松 需要隔一段时间就维护一下 我也不是很清楚😂
are you playing christmas music in the bg?
Did you process the 250D in ECN-2?
I love your vibes so much ❤❤❤
Thank you!! 😊
5207真的很棒! 便宜大碗又萬用!
确实!!
I have the 250D loaded in my camera as I watch this :)
250D high-five~
我覺得模特的氣質非常適配香煙
要是能有一身旗袍那就太棒了❤
這可能就是來自上海人的執念吧😅
hahaha 确实 可惜冬天是在太冷了哈哈哈
Love your videos
☺️ thank you
Where I order this film? haha
No it's always the camera's fault. Kidding aside, Hasselblad film back is known for the spacing issue after a while. That's why they need to service annually or at least every couple years.
Noted.. I’ll shoot with it a little more, if I run into the same problem, I’ll definitely get it serviced!!
why does it have sprocket holes if these are medium format???
because kodak vision 3 is originally a motion picture film
What was shooting at 3:31 😮
Fireworks?? It was Chinese new year holiday 😂
ああ、素晴らしく美しいポートレイトです。
Thank you~ ☺️
I dont know why but 250D is crazy yellow on 35mm. Probably someone knows the reason?
Or ir depends on markings like 5307, 5313 etc?
I think it also comes down to how it’s scanned and edited.. I think? … that being said, my Kodak Gold 200 is the same, 35mm always looks much yellow thank then 120
@@itscapturedbysam thanks Sam!
These films are always a mystery, I'll try some more Kodak Visions and share here the experience later
It looks to me there's a problem with film magazine, not necessarily camera it self. Just saying...
Why is the cat in a cage?
The overlaps look beautiful. I thought you did it on purpose.
lol~ like I said.. it’s could be an artist choice hahahah
妳好,我是妳的中文觀眾 知道上字幕很浩時間😢 礙於我英文造詣真的很爛,希望如果妳有時間能上中文字幕❤
