- Prebiotics and fiber supplements are another way to treat or manage your IBS, SIBO, candida and dysbiosis. But how do prebiotics and fiber supplements help us in treating our gut symptoms? What prebiotics should you use if you have IBS, SIBO, candida or dysbiosis?
In this video, I'll be sharing my favorite prebiotics (tried and tested by yours truly) that I usually recommend to my patients.

This video is way over my head so to speak. I just like to know the best pre-biotic if you can do a video for us dumb down folk. 🎉
RIGHT! TO MUCH TALK!
Oh my goodness!! PHGG and Holigos helped me TREMENDOUSLY!! I cannot believe how much better I feel. I was struggling big time (for months!!) and these two products (in particular) were/are EXTREMELY helpful!! Thank you Dr. DiNezza. 🎯🎯🎯
What did they help you with specifically, just wondering. I have IBS-C, and I'm wondering if they would help?
@@christianthames2302 They helped me major with the constipation problem and just (overall) getting more regular again -- with BMs. Plus, my bloating is a bit better. But, on that, it's about being super careful with certain foods. These last few nights I've been experiencing a LOT of gassiness and bloating. Ugh!! 😞😞Still trying to work through that. 🙏🙏
@@cherylecooper906 have you tried butyrate yet? I've been working on my IBS (constipation version) for 5 years and butyrate helps more than anything!
Also make sure you're not low vitamin D. For some reason low vitamin D makes it to where you can't control your bacteria and it causes more irritation.
Thanks for responding.
@@christianthames2302 I've not tried butyrate before. Thank you for the tip. Yes, I'm keeping up with my D-3 and K-2 balance, as well as B1 and other supplements. Like I say, the constipation part is going much, much better. But I'm still working on the gas and bloating issue. What a time!! 😝😝
@Christian Thames what did you take for Butyrate, could you provide a brand/product name? I also have IBS-C
Love these supplement videos! Would be great if you also do a similar 'Best Probiotics for SIBO' video. Thx.
You are very important in my healing 🙏. I subscribed because you explain things right.
Love those supplement closet videos! Thank you.😍
Yay! I'm glad you've found them helpful :) It seemed best to film these from the closet rather than my whiteboard.
I love how you go about the dose! So good! In the past I increased prebiotics too fast and my SIBO relapsed so fast. I noticed you have to feed the good bugs with really small amounts at first, otherwise the baddies jump on it too fast. My impression is from experimenting with various prebiotics - that bad bugs can feed on many prebiotics - if taking too much too fast. My main problem is always toxicity stemming from SIBO and chronic fatigue. I love holigos - that was new to me!
I’m struggling with a severe case of SIBO, anxiety, low stomach acid and so much more symptoms. What has helped you with SIBO? It’s so much trial error
@@mimiemoji9012 Homemade elemental diet without any type of sugar like dextrose and such. High quality FMT capsules help people as well.
@@mimiemoji9012 Fermented foods helped me the most with PHGG very slowly. Everybody's SIBO is different.
@@sonibraun4971 hi what does Phgg help you with the most ? Please help 🙏
@@RealZayComo First off I have to say you have to bring down an overgrowth of bad bugs like i.e. in SIBO or start really low at first. Phgg feeds predominantly butyrate-producers, good bugs. My mood got better, my sex drive really went up. I had a better sleep. My blood sugar issues improved. But the best benefit was I felt so good on it. I was singing all the time. :)
Thank you for your helpful video on prebiotics. As a Dietitian/Nutritionist, I have watched this video a few times and get more out of it every time I watch it. Thank you!!!!!
What is the brand of PHGG you have in this video?
I don't think I have any of this... I barely know what your talking about (specifics). I was tracking info about AKramancia(?) In the outer mucous layer.
However... you are so knowledgeable and such a great presenter; I'm mesmerized! Thanks. Aloha
Good Explanations, worth every second
When is the best time to take PHGG? 30mins-1hr before taking the anti-microbial? Can I start taking PHGG before I start the protocol to help with leaky gut?

Hi
love your videos
Can you advise me on which prebiotics for candida especially
FOS do feed pathogens. S. studies on wikipedia. Excerpt: FOS are also fermented by numerous bacterial species in the intestine, including Klebsiella, E. Coli and many Clostridia species, which can be pathogenic in the gut. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fructooligosaccharide I had a very severe SIBO relapse from FOS.
Encontrou solução para sua SIBO? Se adaptou a algum prebiótico? Estou na mesma situação, tentei phgg, FOS, inulina, acacia gum, minha ultima esperança é GOS e XOS.
@@bvim75 Yes, I found a solution. It is best to bring down the overgrowth. With prebiotics it's a key to start very low and increase very, very slowly. I started with a teaspoon phgg a day. Then I go with the fibers in this order - phgg, GOS, acacia, resistant starch 2+4+3 and then others like bambus or vitafiber. At the end I end only studied FOS/inulin that feeds only good bacteria with long-chain polysacharides. I eat now 10 tablespoons fiber daily but I needed about a year to build it up to that amount. The key is to start slow so that you feed the good bacteria but not the bad too much so the ratio of the good bacteria to bad will change slowly overtime and you will be able to tolerate more and more.
@@sonibraun4971 Obrigado! Tomou estes prebióticos em conjunto com algum probioticos?
@@bvim75 Yes with ferments. I added studied probiotic strains to the ferments to increase the number of the strains
@@sonibraun4971 Obrigado! Quais cepas de probioticos você usou? Tenho problema com intolerância a histaminas/MCAS então sempre tomo muito cuidado com probioticos.
Thanks I have post infectious IBS (and I thinking SIBO). Yes I have definitely OD on prebiotics and should have taken them much more slowly
Just great as usual!
You are awesome. Listening to you for a while on RUclips. I’m losing a lot of weight in the past month as I’m treating my Sibo symptoms. Bloating, constipation has decreased a lot as I’ve been taking a lot of the herbal supplements to fight this. Which is great 👍. However, feeling very weak and low energy and lost nearly 10 lbs or so in a month. I went on very low fodmap diet and eliminated a lot of the trigger foods. What can you recommend for me to start feeling stronger again? Any probiotics/prebiotics-very confused what to take? Not quite sure if my Sibo has gone? Have brain fog kind of symptoms daily due to feeling very weak. Pls help me with any good suggestions to revive myself to having better health and stamina.
Thank you for your tremendous support and your very useful and informative videos. You are awesome 👏
This was so helpful !! thank you!
One of my daughters and I have used inulin and it's the only fiber that we try. Resistant starch seems to make our condition worse. Inulin works well, but we need something more.
This is a great primer and I hope you will go into more details of how to use these like the best frequency per day, whether or not to take with food, etc.
Stay tuned on this channel- I'm doing a big prebiotic/microbiome experiment through the end of the year and inulin (my fav, too) is going to be included! Look back at the most recent 5-6 videos on this channel and you'll find the first two of the new series :) one about the experimental design and one about the first prebiotic glucomannan!
Oh, and as a general rule of thumb, I recommend taking prebiotics and probiotics with food :) whether you take it all at once or space it out throughout the day is up to you!
@@gutmicrobiomequeen Wow, never heard that before.
can we take phgg for sibo if we haven't started sibo treatment yet?
TY for this! Much appreciated. I went through two rounds of ABX for methane SIBO. Now looking to build the gut back up. Made the mistake of going with a 100B probiotic; that was def too much too soon! Will consider some of the ones you mentioend.
You could try D lactate free probiotics, as these are less likely to cause reactions like brain fog.
Great video! Thank you for the recommendations
Which prebiotics, if any, are beneficial for autoimmunity? I have psoriasis and Sjogren's, as well as SIBO and candida. Thanks 🙂
Most any could be beneficial for autoimmunity! I would base prebiotic recommendations off the SIBO and candida moreso than the autoimmunity itself.
What do you think about bacteriophage products? There's one from Thorne, one from Designs for Health, etc.
Oh maybe you haven't heard of bacteriophage?
That Jarrow chewable is fire
Phgg for methane. I also see NAC up to the left. Is that for liver support or biofilm?
I use PHGG for CH4, H2S, and as Bifido and Lacto food. I use NAC for antioxidant, immune, and detox support :) (I don't think it is that useful for biofilms)
Phgg helps methane and bowel movements? Please help 🙏🙏
Hey Dra Dinezza. What prebiotic is best for hydrogen based SIBO? Thanks!
I did not know you were a Doctor of Chiropractic! Do you help people with adjustments or do you work exclusively with nutrition?
thanks for your videos. I am learning so much. Would these Prebiotics help somebody with Fructose intolerance? After struggling with IBS/Sibo for many years and not getting any help from my Md's (they say I can't be helped and should see a psychiatrist) I finally found out after researching on my own according to my symptoms, that I am Histamine intolerant. So, I am not sure if these prebiotics would help with that. Few years back, I took an all Inulin supplement and I had such a big flare up that I needed to go to the ER. That flare up lasted for about 1 1/2 months and I am very scared to take anything with Inulin. Are there any prebiotics or probiotics for histamine intolerance in particular?
Resistant starch seems to help me. Also histamine intolerant

What phgg did u show?
@@stephaddiction it doesn't matter- they're all exactly the same ingredient (sunfiber) :)
Konyakku (elephant root) is a good soluble fiber I take. It contains glucomannen.
What prebiolic is best for hydrogen based SIBO? Would PHGG be ok also?
This video is amazing. Thank you!!! Which prebiotic would be best for lowering clostridium species? As well as lowering desulfovibrio? I have read inulin and phgg. Is this correct?
Thanks for the information, i have been struggling with the candida and sugar quit a bit . Seem to have lost some muscle recently after a death in the family/care patient. Have done a candida cleaning last year but have not concord the sweets , which i know is counter productive. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Very good video. I did a one day trial each of PHGG, XOS, and INULIN while testing with the food marble device. No SIBO spikes with any of them, but I did notice with the Inulin that hydrogen spiked to 9 around 4 hours and I got a bit gassy. I suppose that's just fermentation happening in the right place, but should it be so high? I don't know. So, I decided to run with XOS at a teaspoon a day. I'm 5 days into it with XOS and noticing my bowel movements are much softer (I'm typically moderately constipated) and my energy has improved. Will transition soon to Inulin and follow the advice to start slow and build up. Much appreciated advice.
Hi Matthew, thanks for sharing. I'd love to hear a follow up on this, and what worked best for you in the end?
Awsome! How about fibersol-2? It is low fod map but people say it made from maltodextrin so it not good...Is it good for prediabet?
Does lactulose count as a prebiotic for you? thanks!
Thanks. Can you recommend any good cheaper brands of GOS? A popular one, Bimuno, is very expensive.
Can I take Inulin and phgg in the same day? I just got my sunfiber Phgg today, but I want to feed my good bacteria with Inulin.
I’m sorry, I’m a bit confused. Can I take sun fiber if I have mold/candida overgrowth? I really need help! Thanks!
For those on a budget, is potato starch a good option?
WWhich one you suggest for me I take probiotic call probaclac 7

What about resistant starch - all 3 types? Those can slowly tolerated as well with time - even with SIBO. What about cacao? Dark chocolate?
Can inulin cause a herx when starting it?
My GI Map listed low amounts of most good bacteria. It also showed super low butyrate. So, since Inulin supports these levels, could I feel crummy for a while when starting this?
Dr Gundry Bio complete 3 is good. There is probiotic, prebiotic and post biotics

I want to work with you to help heal my gut. Are you currently taking patients?
I want to order some products. I had Genova Diagnostics tests done. I can send to you so that you can confirm what I would like to order would be appropriate for my symptoms & lab work.
what is your opinion on the Cyrex food sensitivity tests?
Cyrex is as good as you can get, but like all sensitivity tests they can still give you some false positives. Cyrex literally changed my life- that (and experimentation) is how I found out that gluten, dairy, and sesame were my biggest triggers years ago!
I did the array 10 but it does not show some of the other grains like oats.. Is it worth doing the other Cyrex test to check on the other grains
I live with Candida 24-7
Hi, I enjoyed this video immensely. I recently did a test to find out the status of my gut microbiome. My good gut bacteria was extremely low. My bifidobacterium and lactobacillus strains were super low. You mentioned some prebiotics that would help bring up their levels in the gut. Should I also take a probiotic strain that has the bifido/lactobacillus strains in addition to the prebiotic? I'm thinking I should. Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.
What test did you do?
@@littlebear853 I did the Biohm Gut test. The Ombre test is also very good. I'm doing the Ombre this month. Ombre is lowered priced and they have specials during the year. I bought two Ombre test kits on Black Friday at a big discount.

Well if you're not up to date on what food and what ingredients are good or bad for you I would probably study and research that if you're stopping at fast-food you're doing it very wrong
I am sorry but you keep shaking the products and I am interested to get the PHGG

Phgg reduces methane? Please help 🙏🙂
What about pcos
Great video, thank you! I was wondering why inulin get my constipation really, really worst. I don't get that bloated with inulin, it just seem to block in my intestine. I do this with all kind of soluble fibers, ex. psyllium, flax, chia seeds, etc. (even if I take it with a lot of water). Would PHGG would do the same you think? Would you have an idea why these inulins or soluble fibers would constipate me that much? Thank you
Have you been evaluated for SIBO? That would be my first assumption until proven otherwise. PHGG is much less likely to do that to you, even if you have SIBO. :)
@@gutmicrobiomequeen yes, I have SIBO methane. I did herbs (allicin, berberine (I have an allergic terrain), oregano... Probiotics and so on without any improvement with constipation, and I still constipate more with fibers. Thanks for your answer.
@@nathalielemire216 wihch kind of probiotics use?
I think only soil probiotics works with SIBO
@@nathalielemire216 Inulin feeds SIBO gram-negative bugs (see an article for FOS on wikipedia). Esp. inulin and FOS were a disaster for me. You basically worsen your SIBO with this. I would take other fibers that don't aggravate SIBO that much.
