Wow such a beautiful bird that blue color is so tripping. By the way what do you feed them. I have few around my native place they come very early but run away as soon as they hear any noise back into woods
Thank you, Saurabh! His 'blue' color is my favorite color of all and always has been long before I ever thought I'd have an Indian Blue Peacock. I feed him .... let's see, I buy several kinds of bird seed at Tractor Supply and mix it up to give him a great variety. It includes black oil sunflower seeds (shelled and unshelled), peanuts, dried fruits, dried meal worms, white millet, milo, safflower, cracked corn, etc. I add regular game bird crumbles to the mix to make sure he's getting all the vitamins he needs. I also give him live meal worms by hand that I raise as a special treat. And lots of fresh Kale. I buy Kale every time I go to the grocery store. I grow it to but can't grow it fast enough to keep up with all the peafowl and pheasants I have. He loves fresh Kale. After he molts (drops all his tail feathers) after the breeding season, he comes running to the back porch when he sees me come out with the fresh Kale. I have a feeding station setup on the back porch. He is ravenous and eats pretty much all the time when he is growing his new tail feathers. Juliet does the same thing when she is getting ready to make a nest to lay eggs. I used to have Muscovy duck that would follow me everywhere wanting extra food like bread and Kale when she was getting ready to make a nest and hatch some babies. After Romeo eats all he wants of what I put out, he wanders around and forges for bugs and eats grass. I leave his mixture of food out all the time.
