    My analysis of Avenged Sevenfold's "A Little Piece of Heaven" was too disgusting for me to continue halfway through, and so the scrapped version is uploaded to my Patreon community (Voice Crack tier and above), alongside tracks such as:
    - A Perfect Circle's "Judith"
    - Sleep Token's "Vore"
    - Dimmu Borgir "The Serpentine Offering"
    - Behemoth and Me and That Man
    - Exclusive Interview with Nergal of Behemoth
    - Silent Skies
    With more to come! I may start doing a regularly scheduled analysis video on top of these "Dark Vault" offerings. We'll see!

      @@Broccoli_Highkicks I'd argue no song is ever meant to be unappealing. Many songs are about subject matter that is unappealing to some, but nobody is ever writing a song that they don't like or they don't think other people will like. That would make no sense, unless you're doing it for shock value and some cheap headlines or some shit like that. But we know that's not the case with Avenged Sevenfold. And duh you don't HAVE to find something you like in something you overall don't. But when you are what this Chanel is and you're who she is as a musical analyst it's kind of part of the deal to give credit where it's due even if the total package is not your thing. I'm talking about this specific circumstance or similar, not a general thing for any random person because who tf cares and why should anyone care what someone who's only qualification to talk about music is they have ears that work? That was all my point was. So it's odd IMO to react with "well pfft you didn't have to find anything to like if you didn't like all of it." Which I'm not saying was your intended tone, but that's what it read to me as.

    This song is such a masterpiece. It's gruesome and fucked up on the surface, but it tells the story of two people in love who end up hearting each other and "tearing each other's hearts out," but they keep coming back together. The first two parts of the songs tells the story of one hurting the other. In the song, they only abuse each other once each, but we can assume that this is a cycle between their relationship. During the part where he's pleading with her and she's telling him off, we can assume that maybe they had one big fight where the guy did something that crossed the line. He's pleading for forgiveness and they make up. In that reconciliation, they realized that they love only each other, want to marry one another, and commit to working through their issues. "If it's not enough, try again, and again..." encapsulates this sentiment. Through all the shit, they still love each other so much that they committed to working through the toxicity that they each bring to their relationship, regardless as to what the people around them think. Regardless of it's meaning, it's still a masterpiece;

    I feel like people in this comment section are missing the point of what she’s saying. It’s not simply that it’s dark and she doesn’t like it. The point she seems to be making is that if she is going to post a reaction she wants to put aome positive spin on her content. Praise something, give constructive criticism, find something she personally appreciates about the song she’s reacting to. If all the reaction video would be is her not liking it and having nothing good to really say then the video would be nothing but negativity and therefore she doesn’t feel it’s worth posting. She didn’t care for it, it wasn’t her thing, and rather than posting a video where all she does is talk about how much she doesn’t like it she feels it’s better to focus on things she has something positive to contribute. It’s not a simple case or I don’t like songs that are dark and not all sunshine and rainbows it’s that she herself didn’t have anything positive to contribute to the discussion and didn’t want to post a video of her just complaining about a song that wasn’t her cup of tea.

      You're misrepresenting quite a bit. The Rev wrote this damn song nearly by himself. That's why a lot of people are connecting it to a song about him with it. They very much did expect it to make the album once they figured out what the hell the Rev was trying to do musically and they thought it was hilarious. It is for exactly the same reasons they thought it was.
      I respect Elizabeth's take, but I'm not going to misrepresent the band's view of the song. It's song about necrophilia, murder, and eventually mass murder. You can get grossed out by it and its presentation. Or you vibe the black comedy lyrics like you vibe the humor in the movie Fargo. Even the wood chipper scene in Fargo is funny. Even Marge lecturing the guy is a bit funny because she just saw the guy put another person through a wood chipper and still wants to appeal to what's left of his humanity. This is in spite of her being serious and everything she said was morally right and in the case of the wood chipper scene, it is in spite of the fact it is graphic and depraved. You can look at those scenes and the movie a completely different way and get a completely different view on what the film is. And that's kind of the message. Marge sees a grey mundane day as still beautiful because that's how her philosophy works. She wants to see the good in people to a fault. You can see this song as gross and depraved or you can find it hilarious the same way the band did. Neither is really wrong. You either click with the black comedy and just laugh or you don't and are uncomfortable. But both were meant as a black comedies by the artists in question.
      As for why you are misrepresenting the band. At first nobody knew what the hell Rev was doing. Then Matt came on board after he started to get it melodically and the other bandmates are still scratching their heads. It wasn't because of the lyrics. They didn't get it musically. Then it all starting coming together and everybody got on board with it and were starting to see things they liked about it. Zacky Vengeance said he was proud of it, Matt is like "this is my favorite song ever , ...that i've been a part of " by the end of the making of the album. They knew people would get it and it would find an audience. Link timestamped below.

      To me its just dark comedy, not even horror. The disturbing scenes are offset by the heater labeled "Super Thigh Heater", the purposely humorous juxtapositions between sympathy and guilt to sharp apathy. The way he says "misbehaved". The phrase "eyes over easy".Too over the top and too many gags to not laugh, Its like Fargo(1996). Horrific violence or potentially uncomfortable situations, just dispelled with visual gags. Suddenly uncomfortability is used humor instead of horror. If you pay enough attention its not surreal, its absurd.

      @ShapeshiftedCow 5 месяцев назад +2

      @@ICRA95 It’s a dark twist on a common story regarding insecurity, conflict, and reconciliation in relationships. The gruesome bits are pretty clearly tongue-in-cheek spooky flavoring with even the most surface-level interpretation, provided you actually finish the song.
      Early on in the song he gives the reasoning: “Our love had been so strong for far too long / I was weak with fear that something would go wrong / Before the possibilities came true / I took all possibility from you”
      Then after she comes back to life and returns the favor, he says: “Now that it's done, I realize the error of my ways / I must venture back to apologize from somewhere far beyond the grave / I gotta make up for what I've done / Cause I was all up in a piece of heaven / While you burned in hell, no peace forever”
      So they reconcile in a duet, her parts in parentheses, last line in harmony: “I will suffer for so long (what will you do, not long enough) / To make it up to you (I pray to God that you do) / I'll do whatever you want me to do (well, then, I'll grant you one chance) / And if it's not enough (if it's not enough, if it's not enough) / If it's not enough (not enough) / Try again (try again) / And again (and again) / Over and over again”
      They get married in undeath and then the chorus repeats to bring the song to a close: “Because I really always knew that my little crime / Would be cold, that's why I got a heater for your thighs / And I know, I know it's not your time / But bye, bye / And a word to the wise, when the fire dies / You think it's over but it's just begun / But baby, don't cry / You had my heart, at least for the most part / Cause everybody's gotta die sometime / We fell apart, let's make a new start, oh / Cause everybody's gotta die sometime, yeah, yeah / But baby, don't cry”
      It doesn’t promote violence by any stretch of the imagination, it’s just a spooky ballad.

      This is not even remotely close to their best song lol, good way to make sure someone never gives their music a chance again which is unfair to the band because technically and vocally this song isn’t impressive for them at all. It’s a fun little unique song but that about it, something like “save me”is so far superior musically it’s absurd. This song is the quickest way to make sure someone gets the wrong impression of the band and dismisses them for good. I love the Rev but this song is propped up a lot by the fanbase because he wrote it and then passed away, brompton cocktail is a way better song that he and shadows wrote on the same album. Fiction is a better Rev/shadows written song too. Anyway calling it their best song by far in truly insanity, almost every song on WTF and city of evil is better especially stuff like I won’t see you tnght pt 1 and MIA, ALPOH is one of their most overrated and it’s mainly

    This is a fantastic romantic love ballad about a man who was raised in a society with too much pressure to be married to the one he loves. He freaks out about the thought of losing her with the proposal so he kills her instead and enjoys her as a corpse.
    She comes back from the dead to let him know of his mistake and kills him as well. He then arises and they are able to get married and spend the rest of their 'lives' together with the knowledge that they are the only two for each other in the entire world and they're a match made in...hell?
    Disgusting, sure. Romantic? Moreso than most romcoms today. It's an artistic ballad that can only be enjoyed by those who can read between the lines.
    Also, quitting before you finish the ballad will never do it justice. That's like quitting before the end of The Little Mermaid and never seeing the happy ending. It's just asinine.

    Okay, i kinda get it, but for all the OG A7X fans who know how this song came about, know it is to be viewed from a completely different angle. This song was basically an idea of their first drummer who past away. It was a experimental song and not meant to be taken seriously. its a weird and twisted romantic song, thats why many couples/girls like it.
    the lyrical selves of the song, a guy and a chick, kill eachother and end up together forever in the afterlife as nymphomaniacal zombies.
    in a sense the at the ending the song also becomes a 'make-up song' specially in the slow part when the female vocals kick in.
    plus the connection between death and sex/lust n the psyche is really strong (refer to psychoanalisis for an example), thats why french people say that orgasm is the petit mort.
