I have DEF problems on my fendt sometimes and it's usually the DEF filter coming loose and sucking air.

3/4 of a million dollar tractor didn’t make it 24 hrs. It’s no wonder why old tractors are appreciating in value.
And as an RN I’d like to add that there are issues in hospitals like you mentioned in your analogy. EKG machines require a password and patient info so pt can be billed. So if you’re having a heart attack time=cardiac muscle. If we don’t have the password for this machine or pt info we get no EKG. It’s sad.

Sadly its not a agco problem. If f-ing Bosch. Ex Kubota tech here, same issue. DEF quality sensor, pump, dosing nosel. DEF is a load of crap that its actually still harmful to the environment.
Emisions for people who literally grow plants that make oxygen is fricking dumb. Has anyone thought about that?

What a load of pish! I have a 400l barrel of def that I bought in 2016 for 2 vans and 1 tractor.....all still running fine
Sorry for the Def trouble but I don't like fent and the whine in the cabin from hydraulic pump noise. Not a well design tractor

Seeding is interesting and very impressive. They operate over large areas and it is impressive how quickly they are able to implement. Probably hard work, but they persevere.
get rid of the def, get ur machine chipped or reprogrammed, cracked, but i would just get rid of it at all. its honestly not needed, just another way of making money from farmers.
Mike there is a type of shipping called NFO Next Flight Out. I would make them call a shipping broker and have the part sent that way if you are ever stuck fully shut down.
The way it works is the broker picks it up, takes it to the closest airport puts it on the NFO, and it’s sent to the closest airport to you. Then the broker picks it up and delivers it to the dealer. It’s expensive but it’s their responsibility!
Provided that someone further down the line has the part.
The problem today isn't just that the store / dealer doesn't have them, but the factory is missing them.
And the factory is missing them because the factory they order them from is missing them.
And the factory below that is having issues getting the raw materials to make the needed component and they are waiting for their supply.
As such the wait times just keep extending out towards infinity.

When he has a 1/4 million dollar brand new tractor, and a years profit on the line, I feel it’s fair to demand $500 be spent on shipping to get him up and running.

Lol Mike, the only issue with the override is that once it's overridden by the dealer you and I both know they'll never hear from the farmer again.

@@Kornn66 well this isn't the spring of 1962 where there would have been farm machinery dealers in every railroad siding town in Saskatchewan. They build this equipment so no one can service it except there mechanics
If you can get a 3 day grace period on a GPS accuracy unlock, you can put a grace period on engine hours that the grower or even dealer should be able to activate so you can get the defective emissions parts replaced.
we don't need a DEF override they just need to take it off all Agriculture equipment
So Mike it appears that you have enough room behind the cart to hitch the service truck and Fendt mechanic to so that you can have him behind you all of the time.

Middle of seeding and our Fendt 1042 just de rated because of a sensor. not available in Australia. Fendt is doing their name no good. need over ride for sure.
Ask the average urban kid where their food comes from and the answer will be “the grocery store”. That is a major problem.
Still living that pre-DEF life on our farm. It's sad what they've done to the modern diesel engine.
Def just needs to not exist anymore! Period! It causes more problems than anything!

Oh dang def issues already!! Unreal! It would really tick me off as well! I so agree with your idea that a Tech should be over ride the system while you wait on parts. Not a good start for the 1167 Fendt!! I too hear people having massive amount of problem with def on AGCO iron. Deere must be doing things right if you never have def issues on them! I guess you’re a sucker for punishment. Be done with agco and go back to John Deere. They have both enough power and handle def a lot better.

Mike we had the challenger 865E twin track, its practically the same tractor u got ,but we put in a def pump at the start of each season ,we ended up deleting it after 3 years
I know I would be right when I said it will win the stuck list and the JD will run circles around it. But even I thought it would make it 24 hours for christ sakes.
This is what they want, make your life miserable with diesel and make the switch to electric. Did the same with MX, give the 4 bangers more HP and restrict the gas quality for the 2 smokers

They are talking about 'battery tractor' to get the diesel idea out of the tractor industry.... Yours wouldn't have a DEF problem, but probably a dead tractor crap.
This is all part of the plan.........get you used to shutting down every few hours to charge your new electric tractor in a few years....

I can't understand why you keep buying AGCO equipment. What's so compelling about them when it seems like you are consistently having issues with things that shouldn't be problems?
Like it's not just their tractors, watching you with the Ideal combines was painful. These things are brand new, they really shouldn't be breaking down so often.

Pretty sure it’s actually a requirement to sell a line or series of equipment. There will be a minimum list of parts required in inventory. However dealers seem to always have the parts at another location, or rely on a regional distribution warehouse
The older tractors from AGCO seemed like they were better. Ran several MT600D series challengers for almost 10000 hrs and it never really let you down, surely underpowered for what we were doing with it, but it did work.
I will disagree 100%, fendt stuff is way better, shit happens its a new machine and gotta get the bugs worked out 🤷♂️

I would return the tractor and buy a Deere since you arent having any issues with the Deere tractors in your operation.

The dealer offern has common machines in there to rob parts from, the main reason we stay with new holland is the dealer
If its the middle of seeding they'll pull a part off another tractor to get you though
Also because of CNH so if the new holland dealer hasn't got parts go to the case dealer and they might, because they're offern the same thing with differant paint

Maybe the Engineer's who design this stuff and the CEO's should have your costs directly deducted from their salaries. I struggled with crap designs in my business.... thier response was "works as designed" and my response is "but not designed to work"!

Our experience is the exact opposite. Our Agco equipment has been really good with DEF. Our JD on the other hand, that needed DEF work quite often.
Electric gremlins and poor quality sensors is all it is, ofc the corrosive nature of DEF doesn't help.
You would be the only one. Never had a problem with Deere.
@@Ty-xe9yp We're all in the same boat. Problem is, if you gonna implement such a function people will just abuse it. Hence why I'm pretty certain Europe or maybe Germany doesn't allow for such a function to exist.
Bad enough people will just delete anyway, because in their small mind they can't understand that we need to change some things or droughts like Mike has them now will become the regular rather than a once in five years thing.
Send them an invoice for loss of income a couple of times, you will be amazed about how fast these sensors suddenly start appearing.
It's a known issue those sensors go bad on the regular so they have to have stock even if those sensors are sparse, stock is a problem for dealerships or manufacturers to solve not for customers.
We've had a trucking company almost file a lawsuit against a European truck manufacturer because basically a quarter of their fleet was sitting in regularly for months with a bad sensor. You could easily order the sensor from a different manufacturer, just that they were like 50 cents more a piece, so instead they just told people they couldn't get one until they got an invoice for 25 trucks sitting around for three months. 🤷♂️

I think many farmers are already removing def on older equipment saving money on buying def and making around 30% fuel savings
DEF problems on my 6 fendt's there gone back, SO NOW BUYING NON DEF old and rebuilding them
The def from the factory is probably bad. Lmao
If they allow for an override no one will use Def again. You can override them, but if you trade them in on bypass they charge you to remove the bypass. I heard they devalue the tractor by 30k if it's bypassed.
That's only if the dealer (mostly green) is being a "you know what".. Alot guys are looking for deleted equipment.

I don't know what it is with the DEF, I'm guessing metric sensors are not compatible with imperial DEF and vice versa. 😂
My new RX also just survived like three days. Our Johnny poppers complain frequently in fact. There must have been a shipment of poor quality DEF-sensors.
Makes no sense as to why heavy equipment has Def on it to begin with.

I’ve got in both trucks and airplanes before and went to Columbus Indiana from Nc to get a customer parts for CLAAS stuff. No reason they can’t do that for you. I’ve also left a Mercedes’ mini diag plugged in with the customer so they can clear the code while parts are rounded up
I know that this is a new tractor but I would turn off this DEF system and drive without ... there are probably magicians around the world who can do it, we have such in Poland 🤣

Agreed Mike. Tech needs to be able to override DEF system. To keep everyone happy the code should work for 50 or 100 engine hours while new parts are coming.
The issue is that the dpf relies on the Def system working properly, so simply overriding a code could lead to $10s of thousands of dollars of damage to the dpf system and engine.
So you can't override it unless you also delete the dpf.
And because of the democrats voted into office the epa gained the power to force the def system to be mandated and they have added the inducement system that cuts power to force you to fix it. Voting has consequences.

670 HP is a heavy brag when you’re shut down
i had a brand new telehandler (17 hours) sit dead on me (no throttle, no hydrostatic, e-brake on) in the middle of the stable while clearing manure a holly day morning, with the cow locked in tiny cages in a corner separated from their calves... al because of a faulty ad-blue gauge, tank filed to the brim and all other def sensors saying all clear. Called the rep who's an acquaintance he called a mech who took it upon himself to come on a day off, he could clear the error code but it would last about a minute...
I agree all manufacturers should be allowed to bypass DEF issues. There are procedures that could be put in place to do this. In fact it could be done remotely.
I’m not defending Fent but it is the supplier of the sensor who is at fault. They are use plastics where they should be using resins to make the sensor case and that is allowing movement causing the sensor to fail. In short Fent went cheap on the sensor.
You can do it remotely on the John Deere system, you can use a "emissions de-rate temporary override" and it will give you 12hrs without any loss in power. You can do this 4 times to give you time to order replacement parts
Here in Germany it’s probably equally bad or even worse with our citypeople. They are so stupid and also encouraged by our Green Party. I would go so far to say I’d like to become independent from Berlin and exclude the palatinate from Germany
I've come to learn that DEF is more volatile as a fluid, than I could've imagen. I.e. old jugs for DEF shouldn't be refilled from a pump, because this sort of thing might cause it to crystalize. You should never fill up your DEF while the machinery is running, cause that might give a snoot of air to your quality of assurance sensor (in the tank) and it will prompt to you, that your DEF is bad.
There's a few of these ticks that makes it uneasy to handle and take care of, unlike diesel and gasoline, topping up your engine with oil and so on.
My experience with machinery and DEF isn't so bad. Luckily. Though it's quirks are still unacceptable and plain stupid. Even if the system came to be, for a good purpose.
Its just not AGCO my friend. We have ran pretty much every brand of tractor since def came, and its on all of them. We stopped working with our john deere dealer because of the horrible service we got from them.
should ask the dealer how many people/animals they think have died or had their lives in danger due to lack of ability to over-ride DEF

For f sake , ours are all deleted from new ! Only way to go up here in canada. And really very very very little problems. And if agco likes to sell equipment for these prices it better be running when it's go go time!

Hey Mike, if you want to get rid of DEF, I've got a guy.
If you wake up one morning and Ashtyn & Chapel are no where to be found they most likely have migrated north to take a ride in a Case tractor at her parent's farming operation.
Other possibility is they are paying Tony Fast & family a visit to also drive a case tractor but this time with a 100' drill.
