This brings back so many memories of reading fascinating articles in PRA magazine about Ralph's endless experiments, including his use of glowplug engines for prerotation! Also have memories of visiting Monte Hoskins and his 3DRV, and Scott Malone and his Soma in Oregon and at El Mirage. Alas, the only craft I've actually piloted are PPGs and spamcans.
My love for gyros dates back to the Igor Bensen days in the sixties. Though I learnt to fly microlights at 50 , I never had the opportunity to fly a gyro. That's the dream of flight I never achieved.
As a kid growing up in North Carolina, I often saw Igor Benson test flying his gyro's. It was fascinating to see more man than machine flying by. We used to yell, "It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's Igor!"
A pilot that was flying a small Cessna tells the story of how he came up on one of the early Benson gyro's, As he flew along side of it he says he cudnt see the rotors spinning cuz they wer spinning so fast and he says it looked like some guy sitting in a chair waving at him at 2,000 ft
When I watch these sort of videos from the USA I always think I should have moved to the place, you can't blow your nose in the UK without getting some jobsworths permission..When the Soviet Union fell apart they shipped the remains to the UK and rebuilt it..
Don't be too hard on yourself. There's a large gyro community in the UK. And training is required. And in fact it was research done some 20 years ago in the UK that revealed why Bensen type gyros like this one were crashing and killing their pilots so often. The answer was non alignment of centers of gravity and thrust, leading to powered push over. After that, pusher gyros began to be constructed quite differently. This is not a safe design, due to where the engine and thrust line is located, as compared to where the overall CG is. The horizontal tailplane is also not large.
I used to love the gyrocopter’s but was watching a documentary where some folks were exploring way up in Alaska or the Arctic and was using gyrocopters to find the best route through the snow and terrain for the ground crew when about 1500 ft one of the gyros turned upside down and fell out of the sky like a rock yep a sad day.
Да автожир это мечта это изобретение не новое оно может и должно стать транспортом каждого кто желает на каждый день главное надежный двигатель и лопасти остальное проще
The music in the start of the video reminds me of what got me hooked to gyrocopters, PilotWings 64... Sadly, atleast for me, I'm not in the financial position to own one myself. Nor does my country allow kit built gyrocopters/ gyroplanes, at this moment atleast. I'd sell 1 kidney and my manhood to fly one..
No, actually it is not a fear of heights. You have a fear of falling. You will feel safer strapped to an airplane than when you are standing on top of a building.
Honey be about $3/bottle. In reality, most gyros have two relatively big ticket costs: the engine and the rotor - each potentially in the thousands of dollars.
I agree. It sure looks like eating out is The Beevs' responsibility . The worse thing u shld b worried about are the Cherokee and if the customers are seriously upset. Need to keep their voices down till things get nice and quiet again . Tnx...hope to talk soon. God bless and keep ur healing up number 1 importance.
@@bernardhibbard4075 I used to fly a Bensen years ago. Looks almost like this one. It can land and stop on a dime. Take off very short too. The video is just fine though. I felt that the take-off from a stop and landing to a stop a would be interesting as well.
I love this style of gyrocopter, I just love the open view, the ultralight look and weight to it. The simple layout of the craftt

Your invention is beautiful and fun
Very interesting innovative and excellent piece of engineering ie., referring to the landing gear springing.

California is same.

Very Good! Tive a oportunidade de conhecer um Gyro há mais de 50 anos atrás! Alguns voavam enganchados! Congratulheichons!
Some very nice flight film 👍
How much does it cost and how is it made?
With that intro music, the title should be: Mutual of Omahas, wild world of Gyros.
Truly amazing
Love it! ! I want one! How much?
I liked this gyrocopiter, very simple should be cheaper right ...
when i was a kid i seen a gyro and was like "hey man that´s cool"
Very cool👏👏👏👏👍
nice video thanks
Show de girocóptero.
Mad Max! ;)
Coba anak2 yg kereaktif tiru cara pembuatan heli ini, sy sarankan anak2 muda.
Quá đỉnh !👍👍👍
I’ve got plans on the honeybee and the gyro bee on a cd somewhere
So how can i find info to build one , or any one can help me. Thanks
Why is the engine so high ? Wallis autogyros had low down engines.
Boa noite ,queria comprar um tem como financiamento obrigado e juntos o cursos
Did you build this, do you have any references you can point me to since I want to build one? How did you learn to fly it?
Да автожир это мечта это изобретение не новое оно может и должно стать транспортом каждого кто желает на каждый день главное надежный двигатель и лопасти остальное проще
What are you saying?
and now its not available ???????
Wow !!!...What a cool l'il bird !!!!!
How much are the gyrocopters
Hello everybody...the honeybee gyro is a hand made gyro ? Who can tell me...and how much...much much....
Awesome!
Let's build one, covid restrictions on the ground, just fly over them.
el ingeniero español Juan de la Cierva, inventor del autogiro
Very nice
So why don't we see these things flying around? FAA restrictions?

Smooth controller.
A well-balanced rotorblade.
Good job😀👍🙏👏❤️🇹🇷
very nice
Thanks! I was not aware of this video!
Love to fly one of these
I want meke a gyro plz help me
What is the first step.
Measurement ????
The rotor head and the blades are like seperate projects less you build a prop too. The rest is easy
Nice😀👍
Can I get one with an eject seat?
Don't lose your head. It's just a gyrocopter.
@@BadBobV65 haha!
Yea, it comes with a gyro umbrella
Offcourse! whatever you want. :))
Sou Renato Brasileiro quero comprar um Girocoptero como eu adiquiro por. Favor me ajude ,,. Meu sonho
I have the plans for that, if you want them.
Seriously?
I'm scared of heights, would that be a problem?
Nope. Just keep your eyes closed. And stick to loats.
No, actually it is not a fear of heights. You have a fear of falling. You will feel safer strapped to an airplane than when you are standing on top of a building.
Only when you look down.
This is an old video. Seems like the project has been discontinued long time ago...
Plenty of modern autogyros projects... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trendak_Tercel
Good.... Good
Have you tried the gyrobee using an electric motor?
There are some out there...
they would be very limited with range and weight
Max pilot weight?
Exactly what I want to know
And climb rate, engine HP, range, ...
Poor Iran has thousands of these equipped for home defense. Easy to fly, inexpensive to maintain and always ready to fly.
what is the cylinder volume of the motor? and the gear box what ratio?
What is the cost of the honey bee please?
Honey be about $3/bottle. In reality, most gyros have two relatively big ticket costs: the engine and the rotor - each potentially in the thousands of dollars.
Could probably build one for 2k
whats priece in this halicopter plz (i am pakistani)
Gyrotech was sold around 15 years ago and is no longer available. When it was available the price was under $9,00 USD.
@@videobob47 is it 900 dollars ? .thanks

Star Bee makes kit similar to this. I don't know anything about it, just know it exists.
Not anymore....

Holland too bro! :))
HOW MUCH A HONEY BEE GIROCOPTER IN 2020 IN DOLLAR
between 5-9k USD
You need to show the landing .. Also the takeoff. Just flying around does not do just to the aircraft.
