- Single player games have continued to be a staple of the medium of games since its earliest days. The best single player games leverage the interactive capabilities of the medium to empower fantastical worlds and amazing experiences that have the power to grab you from the very core and give experiences that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled.
With this video, we take a long walk down the memory lane and put together 30 of the best single-player games ranging from recent hits to all-time classics to underrated gems and much more.

It's definitly a W and goes to show they're not a bunch of casual gamers and actually appreciate gameplay design on it's own regardless of technological barriers, BGS always made niche games that weren't for you casuals, they just happened to get big after Skyrim because Skyrim was a casual type of game, but Starfield is very much like there older games, akin to Daggerfall, where the amition is so much higher than the tech can make it smooth enough, thus you get technological cutbacks in areas they deem more irrelevant to the actual gameplay intself, it's niche games like these where the idea is good enough that it doesn' need to have fancy graphics, animations, or citizen AI, it's about actually doing something in the world instead of going on random rampages though a city and against it's police force or being cinematic over everything else that matters like gameplay. Starfield is a gamers game, games like GTA and TLoU are a moviegoers game, but they're not impressive gameplay wise, it's all smoke and mirrors, unlike Starfield, which actually has real gameplay and much deeper interaction.

I was shocked to not see The Last of Us on this list. The narrative is gripping and gets the player heavily invested in the relationship of Joel and Ellie.
So many games that should be on this list, The Last Of Us, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 7.... The fact that they put 3 different GTA games on the list shows they really didn't put a lot of thought into it

Starfield has no business being on a 2500 best single player games of all time list, much less 25.
So many great games on this list and I'm glad GTA IV was on it cause it's probably my favorite GTA game. It's so different from the rest in the series. I just love the dark tone of it, the physics and the story, which is probably the best story of a GTA game so far. I'm really looking forward to GTA VI's story. I hope they make me care about the characters more than in GTA V.

Nice additions, but I don't get the FC3 crowd. I personally started w 4, then 5 and 6 and then went back to 3 and found it incredibly boring. I think 4 is my favorite.

But looking Back at it now it was the first Far Cry Game to have those fun Mechanics with Outposts, Progression, Fluid Shooter Gameplay and a cool Villain without those lame Side Missions in Far Cry 5 and 6 plus it is rather short which I Like more. Or maybe it has the nostalgia 🤔 Bonus

No it doesn’t. Why do people give treat that game like it’s a masterpiece? The side characters are bland, the open world is filled with repetitive content, and the mission design also gets repetitive quickly.

I think Farcry 3,4,5 and 6 are all really great games. I didn't get into the series until after 6 was released - so playing them in order over a couple months was a pretty great experience. Really looking forward to 7.

Glad to see Horizon Forbidden West on this list. Along with the Burning Shores DLC, Forbidden West took an already incredible gaming experience and made it even better in the second installment. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Correction: There are 30 games here, not 25.
Secondly, it would have been good to have a more historical list of excellent single player games, revisiting the likes of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. There are plenty of older gems out there. And for what they lack in storytelling devices, they more than made up for in challenging and immersive gameplay. A more historical list would also give new viewers a greater appreciation for the growth that single player games have undergone over 30/40 years instead of just the last 20.

This video was obviously rushed. Title is top 25 but through editing they realized what they missed so added Elden Ring, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Tears of the Kingdom (which they couldn’t find footage for last minute) and still forgot games like Skyrim and Cyberpunk but made sure to put Starfield first to get the comment section going. Not impressed…
