Yes, yes, yes! More detail I've been playing GalCiv games since GalCiv. 1. I've been playing this one since it first came out and I still picked up some info I didn't understand until this video. If you're not a teacher you should have been one! Love the way you explain the mechanics of this game. Thanks for taking the time to do these, much apricated!
You don't even want to know the little things that i missed lol even when there is a box that comes up and tells you (hold shift). Thanks for getting into the crunch !
15:45 I use the standby when making a fleet. don;t want it on sentry for every piece of spacejunk ( enemy ship) that comes near while I'm still building the fleet and have other ships/fleets to defend it.
Another great video...I have now just bought the game based on your presentation (so you owe me £41 sterling 🙂).....Seriously really looking forward to getting my first run underway in the next couple of days so your videos are super useful. You struck gold with those production worlds in the next system
I’ve been at home the last two days playing nonstop. The abilities for each civilization and the biology choice really change up the feel of each play through. So pay attention to when techs are blocked or unlocked. I love the worm civilization! They are silicon based and their ships are true warships! Also their crystal buildings are so fun. Also I found a very good setup to get max culture points per turn. That took some figuring out.
I like those very-in-depth-looks, I just might not have the time to watch them just when they come out 😂 But as soon as I have time, maybe a day or two later, I would watch those, especially if it's first turn/early game. Don't know if it would be interesting on a much later time in the game, but for the start, definitely.
I was running a fever the night I made this but didn't know it yet. 😅 I will break these explainers down into segments about a given topic so it's a proper tutorial and not a play through.
New to the game but I also noticed the tooltip thing. I've played many 4x games and I don't understand why they just go with bad tooltips. They are essential to the genre. Probably one of the Things Stellaris has on other games like this or endless space 2 is that the tooltips are a lot clearer.
Just got the game over the weekend I very much appreciate this tutorial Best one I found. Have you found any issue with after a couple hours into gameplay you can't move your ship sometimes even though there's available most points without having done any prior actions with the ship
Glad you like the tutorials. There are minor GUI bugs but I’ve never had a freeze up. Here are a couple ship issues I’ve found. 1. You can’t move a ship around a black holes accretion disk. This seems like it is locked up. 2. I have noticed that you can’t select “objects that are off to the lower left or right of the screen. If I shift the view to center the object I can select them. I’ve mainly noticed this with ships.
No it's specifically after a ship is constructed and I'm given the option to move it from its spot where it spits it out. I have the notification on the bottom right hand of the screen when I click on it it brings me to that ship it shows full movement points available but I can't move it The only way to get it to move is to give it an automated movement order like planetary, shipyard, or star base destination but I cannot manually move it to open space.
Having a fine match of *football* is always nice. But it's unusual to have a dedicated referee, if I can extract that much from your story of the penalty kick? At least for a friendly match between friends/acquaintances. So do you play in a club or association? Or was it just someone who decided to be the ref that time? (Also don't say *what* club it might be, if you're uncomfortable with it, it could lead to too much information on the internet about you, so I suggest you being cautious about stuff like that.)
Yeah. I play in an "over 30" club. Life long footballer. I can say that was probably the most satisfying draw I've ever player. Down 0-2 for 85 minutes of play. They scored their first point a few minutes into the match. So it was like marching uphill the entire time.
@@redoover That's nice, I was playing in one too but had to stop since I moved to the city and didn't find a connection or time to join a club here. Especially with the big 'C' it went low on my priority list. Maybe I should reconsider now. But how to make more time 😂 Oh, and scoring that draw at the end, I can totally feel how exciting and satisfying it must've been. The sheer amount of effort that was put into that game, and in the end, it all paid off. If it was an away game against a club that was predicted to have the advantage, all the more. Good job and congrats to your and your teams hard work! Oh, and if you like to divulge, what position do you normally play? I'm used to play offensive midfield, since I'm pretty good (or, well, haha, at least I'm better at it than most other stuff in football) at passing and flanking, having an idea of the overall situation on the field and putting in the effort to join defense and offense. And my shots aren't the worst, if need be.
I would encourage you to find a club. As you get older (meaning not a teenager) you must maintain your body or you will lose it. I remember being about 26 and hadn't played in a few years. The first time I tried to full sprint at practice I popped a hamstring. It took a full year to heal from that. I play sweeper most of the time. I can move to stopper or into goal if the keeper is out. I am not a good keeper but I play a keeper-sweeper style when I'm forced to do it. I'm fast for my age and aggressive but am a heads down player. I have a poor passing game.
I get the complaint regarding "Draft colonists" executive order, buuut maybe provide an answer as part of the walkthrough. Now your both jerks who won't provide a clear answer. :P The penalty lasts 11 months (the cooldown period...super OP)
Thank you for the info! Seriously nice to have people share tips. I get what you’re asking for but I’m playing in realtime. And I’m not claiming expertise. I’m learning the game and explaining my logic as I go, while adding what I do know. I’ll leave it the people Stardock is paying to play for the hard facts. I’m playing for fun.
ooh galciv... interesting

Glad you like the videos. I’m still playing GC4 most days. After 6 months! I love starting up a new match. Finishing them a bit less… 😅
I am very much enjoying your run through....learning lots.

Me no macro good! 😜 (you should see me fumble around with Stellaris.)

Thanks for the explanations, very helpful.
Appreciate you making this videos! I love Stellaris and this game seems like a fresh new take on it. But the tutorial is lacking. Thanks again!
You are welcome! If you make it through Ep 2 they get a bit better. 😅 I was literally getting sick the night I did this one and felt loopy.
Thanks for the video -helping me learn how to play this game
I'm glad it's helping.

Agreed. They need to work perfectly.

As to point 1, there maybe other space objects a ship can’t navigate near.

I'll try to replicate it and I'll bring it up in the next episode and ask if anyone has seen that.

colonial policies doesn't show up for some xenos. But you'll be fine anyway.
