@@anonymoushuman8443What I gathered was that The Collision of Worlds Deleted Pyra/Mythra and since Alvis/Ontos was the last Monado his computer brain failsafed, and he committed DMC V Vergil as his Human side (Forming A) split with his Computer Side (Forming Alpha).
The affinity scene on Outlook Park is one of my favorite moments in all of Xenoblade. You know you’re a true fan if you not just play the games but also invest in the story and the characters involved, and this moment in particular helps to culminate this journey we all went on.
I'm sure he does care, that just feeds into his regret more. At this point it seems kind of obvious that Z needed N(oah) to attack Alpha and the offer to revive Mio was just a sweetener. More than seeing his wife again, could Noah of all people really ignore a threat to all lives in Aionios? And he had to cut down his descendants and serve moebius to save the majority. Being N really sucks.
What I got from the scene by the lake, Ontos is non-gendered or both Male and Female at the same time due to the presence of Logos and Pnuema. Alvis/Alpha is the manifestation of Ontos male persona and A is the manifestation of their female persona. A is actually classified as a female according to the game's code, so she herself isn't non-gendered.
I personally prefer Torna’s story a tad more, because we knew most of the cast before hand, I felt more connected to them Mechanically, Future Redeemed is waaay better (looking at the community 😂) Both are a amazing for me though
When "Words That Never Reached You" at 23:17 I nearly fell out of my chair. I knew that if it was included in the DLC I'd lose ig 😂😭 Seriously my favorite Xenoblade track ever. I absolutely am obsessed with how perfectly placed it is from a narrative standpoint
27:32 this would be a lot easier if you realized you take more damage when your Blade isn’t drawn. I learned this from Chuggaaconroy’s XC2 LP, and I think it’s a feature common to the whole trilogy.
This DLC is proof that playing 1 and 2 prior to 3 really benefits you in the long run, but i'm glad they kept the big fan service for the DLC and made the base game stand almost entirely on its own for newcomers, it's a win win for everyone.
I completely forgot about the "to me" from xeno 1 and didn't catch the reference on my playthrough and your mention of it reminded me of it lol. Thanks for that.
I really like all your Xenoblade videos! For a long time I have been resisting on saying that Xenoblade are my favorite games, after Zelda came out and played for some hours I can finally surrender and without any doubt Xenoblade are my favorite games of all time, no game has delivered all that emotion and watching your genuine reaction is the best, getting the feeling of someone else enjoying this games as much as I do!
this was the craziest dlc experience right beside torna, no one does it like monolith. i wasn't there for your playthrough unfortunately but i've been watching the vods and gleefully reliving them thru these videos now 😂 great work sarah!
That lore dump cutscene was a lot!! From what I understand, A sounds like Ontos' true form in a way, and Alvis was devised from Zanza in his image ( hence why he's a guy ), and that Ontos was originally meant to act a judge of shorts to Logos and Pneuma. But when those two kicked the bucket ( kinda is Pneuma's case ), he malfunctioned so to speak and became Alpha in the process. GOD I love Xenoblade's lore. It's so fascinating.
Going back to Xeno 2, Blades are often made to resemble the hearts of their Drivers. So Alvis, being the bridge between the male and female processors, took a more masculine appearance when reflecting Klaus' heart. And then when being split between logic and emotions, A's form took a more feminine look. I'm not sure if this is due to the more stereotyped outlook of women being more in tune with their emotions, or if it's sort of a balance shift. With Alpha and A splitting, Alpha kept the masculine appearance, so A took a more feminine one.
@@ghostchannel4766 I think they count as "humanoid" enemies in Xenoblade 2, so i guess it could be the same in 3. But does that mean that "Liberators" doesnt count as humanoid enemies? Because that would be kinda silly.
@@bamboozled4912 3 breaks their typings into factions, iirc. So Keves, Agnus, and City are their own types as well. It makes a little more sense that Liberators get their own typing when think about it like that.
Got to fight you along side you in FFXIV PVP tonight! I was the RDM on one of your teams. We almost had a win! Shame we got pushed back at the end, but you were a great SCH!
I'm so confused by the plot of this and XC3. Like, wasn't the main game's party's goal to end the world too? If they have the same goal as the villain of the DLC, then why is he positioned as the bad guy? Did I miss something?
Alpha wants to remake the world by eliminating all life from the previous worlds. Only new life born outside the system (people of the city basically) are allowed to exist in his new world. Noah's crew wants to stop the "endless now" that Moebius has put in place, but they obviously don't want to elimate all existing life to make it happen, considering they are among the people who would be eliminated, as well as 90% of the people they meet. The outcome they achieve saves far more people. Later on Matthew and Na'el do discuss this exact topic, why he is opposed to Alpha's plan despite being against Moebius, but he's obviously against elimating all the lives outside the city as well.
When Alpha takes the city people with him in the Ark, Origin won't be able to perform it's job of recreating the 2 worlds after they collide. Everything will be annihilated. The main party in the base game are trying to end Aionios and restart Origin to finish what it was designed to do. It's about how many people they are able to save. If Alpha succeeds, everyone alive before the world's collided (stored in Origin) are gone forever. "Out with the old in with the new"
That makes so much more sense now. Thanks! I probably should not have finished Future Redeemed while falling asleep and trying to stay awake lol. I missed a lot.
I FEEL SO BAD FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ONLY PLAYED 3 WITHOUT REALIZING THIS LORE DUMP WOULD HAPPEN LOL
I played all the Xenoblades and I’m still confused
An example of that is Harry McEntire, who voiced Noah/N.

Monolith Soft really be out here releasing full games' worth of story and content in $30 DLC
Instead of releasing the game separately for like 60$ and 10$ for each volume pack. I'm so glad we have them

15:43 getting Adam Howden himself to voice Oren for 1 cutscene is the comedy gold I expect from my Xenoblade

Yep! Plus, the art book refers to her as "jousei", which is Japanese for "woman", and the creator refers to her as female.
I wanna say that this DLC is WAY better than Torna from XC2
Gameplay wise for sure, but man the cinematics in Torna hit so much harder

Both are great.
Torna probably messed me up more with that ending but the gameplay and progression is so much better and tbh the story here is better overall
Monolith Soft’s backs deserve a long rest after basically carrying the Switch for the majority of it’s current lifespan.
