Great vid as usual Lee! - worth pinning a message to mention that @4:48 the latest TX16s you need to plug into the USB socket at the top of the radio (bottom one is for charging only) in addition, on this version you don't need to remove the SD card, the radio can be used as the cardreader. Turn radio on, plug in USB to top port then select "USB Storage (SD)" When the popup appears.
As usual, very informative, thank you! I believe that in one of your previous videos you mentioned that the name of the updated firmware should not be too long, otherwise it would not show up in the Taranis flash-menu. Just to remind those who, like me, wondered where the update had gone.....

I've seen some video's where people are taking the module apart, soldering on connectors and flashing it with Arduinos, but should it be necessary?

My Eachine radio is flashing "Module Update Recommended" message. Seems straight forward enough, however, not sure which module update to flash it with. To date there are updates for the 4-in-1 and the CC2500 Radiomaster radios. Which do I use for the Eachine? Help...!

My RM16TXS is set to Edge TX, will putting in a Bin file make any difference?
Great video and explanation. Apparently idiot-proof, I was successful! Fell down this rabbit hole attempting to set up my Eflight Extra 300 with A3SX abilities. Wanted to explore DSM Forward Programming, requiring updating OpentTX, followed by getting warning msgs about the SD card version and the Module software. Followed your videos on both and as mentioned, it looks to be idiot-proof. Any experience with DSM Forward Programming? Cheers!

I am not sure which file to download for multi-protocol firmware as my radio is RadioMaster TX16S MAX Limited Edition 2.4G 16CH Hall Sensor Gimbals Multi-protocol RF System OpenTX Mode2 Radio Transmitter with CNC and Leather for RC Drone - Purple. The 2 choices are the RadioMaster TX16S internal module (4 in 1) or The RadioMaster TX16S SE internal Module (CC2500). Can you help?
Yep that did it. Just have to download ser version not the PPM I think.
Am I correct in thinking that the r xsr would be the 'inverted' update yes? as I am not using the uninverted pad. The current version on my radiomaster does not specify what it is set too, just gives the version number.

Short history last time I playing micro brushed and I use irangeX for multi protocol. I upgrade my tx (taranis QX7) with edge tx for use elrs And now I want use again can't bind and status upg. Adviser.

Make sure that the external module is set for ELRS and try different port settings if you don't have an inverter mod..
my 4 in 1 module is in a early FrSky Taranis X9D Plus how do i know wether to select the inv or no inv version please

I've tried the steps suggested but my bin file is not visible to Opentx, I've tried loading it onto the SD card directly and via usb storage mode.
Sounds like it is in the wrong place on the SD card. All of the steps that work for me are in the video... Best of luck
@@Painless360 Thanks, I tried multiple locations but no luck. I managed to plug it in via USB as it's an irx4+ and use the program to flash on a bootloader and update it that way in the end. Thanks

Hi buddy, I'm using 18650 battery for vape pod (3.7V 30Ampere). is It safe for my tx16s?

I am about to build my first drone and I am really confused which radio to buy frsky x9d Or jumper t18 Or radiomaster tx16s? Frsky has reliability as well as dedicated receivers And most of the aftermarket hardware supports x9d but I am afraid that maybe in future it won't even support Crossfire as I am about to buy crossfire also, the jumper is good but again the previous model has issues like internal charging, ribbon cables and on the other hand the radiomaster is nice but don't know how reliable it would be in long term. Which radio should we buy as of August 2020 irrespective of it's price? Or should we wait?

why does my tx16s say protocol invalid when i try to use flysky as i have a few drones/planes with flysky receivers and dont want to have to upgrade.

I'm getting firmware update error (no sync) and it wouldnt let me update the module. have you ever had this happen and do you know how to fix it?
I've not seen that here but that could mean that the module you have doesn't have a bootloader. Lots of things in the forums so I'd check those out for some ideas. Best of luck with it...
Great Vid Lee, I had the flashing reccomend module update so..I followed the video, I have the stm32 Banggood 4 in 1, Taranis X9E, when I flash external multi however, I get an error to do with sync? any suggestions? current version on module is V1.2.0.22 Thanks

The channel order for the firmware you flash onto the MPM needs to match the same channel order used on the radio. The reason this is so important is that the MPM will 'move' channels about when you are using a receiver that needs a specfic channel order (Spektrum is TAER for example). Hi Lee. I did the update to 1.3.2.12 today, but the error is still there. When I got my FrSKY X8R I did the update to the "older - history version" from www.frsky-rc.com/x8r/ but still not good. Should I go for the 2.1.0v? What do you think? Cheers!

I have the irangex irx4 in a Qx 7, that I did this update on a few weeks ago. After the update the module will not bind to any of the receivers I was using previously. Any ideas on where I could have gone wrong?

An oldie but goodie! Once the MPM is flashed to newer version, do you have to rebind models or redo the frequency tuning? Or just flash and go?? Thx!

Question, I was prompted to upgrade the multimodule in the Radio Master TX16s. I have updated the module to V1.3.3.0 now the radio will not bind to either of my receivers a S8R or the RX8R pro. Can anyone provide a little help? Thanks

What was the point of downloading MultiChannelsUpdater.lua? You did not use it. Do I need to run this script after FW update?
It's not critical but can help you spot when you may have channels in the wrong order for the protocol you have selected on the model you're using. See the later video in the playlist that covers this... ruclips.net/video/Nii4ElEbg6s/видео.html

I see now when you select there are 2 different RadioMaster TX16S options.
Still only one choice for the TX16s radios with the full 4in1 module... Happy flying

Use the one that matches the same default channel order in your Opentx setup.. Happy flying
I downloaded the right bin file and put it in the firmware directory. But when I click on this file with the QX7, I only see: Copy, Delete or Rename. No flashing options...

Soft Cell Yes it does. I saw that in a video from CurryKitten I believe. He shortened the name and after that it showed up.
