As an owner of two Interlogix systems, I really enjoyed your explanation of the history behind their products. It really seemed like they had all the cool stuff back in the day.
Oh cool! Which ones do you have?
@@NewAgeServerAlarm well one was his Interlogix NX-8
@@NewAgeServerAlarm Ranger 8600E (formerly Caddx) and Networx-8v2. Love working with them.
@@BousaiGuy damn... I got a brand new Ranger 8980E last week and it was working OK but somehow the program on it got corrupted following a download from CaddX DL900 so now it's bricked unless I can get ahold of a properly working one to copy the program from.
@@NewAgeServerAlarm yiiiiikeeess, haven’t had much to work with DL900 other than trying to program a module that was DOA this past month…
Nice, really shows how advanced ITI was compared to others at the time.
i love videos like this, not only is it well edited, but it's also to the point and explains the whole history in a brief 5 minutes.
Great Video! Cant wait to see what the rest of the series holds for us!
Interesting format, should be a video series on the different brands, I bet more people would love this format, too
Really awesome, cant wait for more videos like this.
A very informative video, well done!
It’s pretty cool to see how far back some technology goes! I didn’t know FBII made those phones (though I do know they made that VS279 voice/siren driver). It’s also cool to see how much similar features they kept in these systems overtime (kinda like Bosch/Radionics). I really enjoyed this little video, can’t wait to see some demonstrations on these systems!
How else do you think they began illegally vouyering in on me through the alarm system in the house in Jersey.
I know this video is almost a year old but thank you for this I really liked by Concord for system but now I have gone to Ademco Ann may someday go with DSC, Neo
It’s amazing to me how advanced ITIs equipment was for its time. They were definite innovators…
Hey welcome back
My Grandmother owns a Concord 4, and my aunt had one in her old house and old office. However I am starting to see Concord 4’s go which is pretty sad, and they are being replaced with typical Vista panels.
Hey NewAgeServerAlarm Did The Honeywell Apex Destiny Systems Have A Learn Mode?!
ITI was way ahead of other security brands at the time
I think Resolution engineering picked up where they left off now Alula they have a great product range I was one of the first dealers for ITI in Australia SX-V it was a great product do you remember the buddy system Thankyou for your video brings back good memories
Awesome video! Any way we could get a demonstration of it’s capabilities?
That's coming
@@NewAgeServerAlarm cool.
Iti had something in my city at one point then the building was sold to a charter school.
Hey NewAgeServerAlarm Didn't You Know That There Was An ADT Version Of The ITI CareTaker Plus?!
Yeah ADT sold them for a while
Howdy!
Hey!
0:01 You certainly have a lot of security systems set up there...
0:17 Going by that does this mean that the panel those two devices are hooked to has separate fire & security outputs? (which almost no modern panels have since most just use a single siren) Odd if you ask me though why the siren would be going off in continuous if a fire zone was tripped (expectedly only the MT would go off since it's the fire signal, & even if the siren sounded as well you'd expect it to sound in temporal 3 as that's what most modern systems do).
0:21 Reminds of the voice on the FBII VS279 siren driver.
0:25 So does this count as an episode of this series or...?
0:35 I know that video!
1:00 Really? X10? Wow...
ITI's logo kinda reminds me of IBM's.
1:35 I know it's a wireless system, but seriously? You couldn't have picked a better mounting location for that keypad than a _kitchen cabinet?_
2:09 Which I'm sure took _forever_ to do (plus the fact that I'm sure you had to know what you were doing to program every sensor properly).
2:19 Really? AT&T was once in the security industry? Interesting...
2:25 "What type of sensor it is that tripped the sensor"? You sure you didn't make a mistake here? ("panel" instead of "sensor" for the second instance of "sensor")
2:32 Interesting name & logo for a _security system..._ (especially since the "+" resembles a medical cross which goes with the name "Caretaker")
2:52 Only one I know out of those is Elk, that's it.
2:58 ITI essentially paid tribute to X10 for coming up with one of the first wireless security systems huh?
3:25 Same key design as their earlier "SX-series" huh?
3:36 Ah yes, "FBII", clever company name given the acronym (as it's very close to "FBI").
3:43 Really? That's how Interlogix came to be? Huh... (& interestingly enough "Interlogix" contains the three letters in ITI's original acronym in the same order)
3:53 From what I can tell "Electro Signal Lab" or "ESL" was actually a brand name of Sentrol Inc. that they mainly used to sell fire protection products under.
3:55 Mhm, & Sentrol/ESL along with them.
4:08 Shame, they seemed like a pretty good company/security brand (heck I don't know why they went out of business in the first place, it seems like they were doing just fine by that point).
4:17 I believe it's actually "Carrier Global".
4:19 Smart idea if you ask me.
4:24 Ah yes, I certainly know the Concord name (not much about the actual panels though aside from them being Interlogix/GE).
4:29 "SYSTEM BATTERY IS OK" & "AC POWER IS OK"? I don't think I've ever seen a security system that would say that.
4:35 _"PROTEST"?_
AT&T has entered and vacated our security industry no less than four times during my tenure in this business. They have a penchant for leaving their customers (and often dealers) high and dry when their proprietary business model crashes and burns, or they simply lose interest.
@@dansurmitis3452 Really? They've repeatedly entered & left the market over the years?
I take it that you work for one of the companies in the biz.
How does anyone have any trust in them if they keep doing that?
Hi
