- G’day! My name is Garry Pye and I am the 2D Community Manager for Reallusion. In addition, I have been a content developer for Cartoon Animators 2D Marketplace for the past nine years. I would like to introduce you to the 2D animation software Cartoon Animator 5, which delivers a new set of amazing and practical tools that will help you to create professional 2D animation faster and easier than ever before.
In addition to the abilities you are already familiar with in Cartoon Animator, version 5 now has object Free Form Deformation (FFD), Spring Bones and most importantly, the ability to create characters using vector software. Each of these new features will enhance your animated projects in all new ways, and when mixed with the powerful tools you already use, Cartoon Animator 5 is about to take your 2D animation to a whole new level.

"Spring bones will change your life" - TRUE THAT 😊
I am the poster boy for Spring BOnes. Best tool ever added to CTA. Ever.
Wow 👏
spring bones are Gonna Change Your Life
I totally agree. Spring bones take away the tedious, necessary keyframing of things like flowing clothing and hair. You can set it and forget it and Cartoon Animator does all the work for you. And best of all, they take minutes to set up.
❤❤❤
Oh! Great . Plz more
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Amzing working , thank you dor shareing
No, thank YOU for watching!
Thank you so much for your video! I’m trying out this software at the moment and learning it. It’s a bit hard as it’s my first time doing animation, but hopefully I’ll learn it soon. I want to use it here in my kids channel. Will be watching more of your videos. Thanks again
Hi there! Thanks for watching my video. I have lots more coming, including official webinars for Reallusion about Cartoon Animator. To get the best and fastest learning resources for CTA, be sure to join my Facebook page (search for Garry Pye Cartoon Animator) and the Cartoon Animator Users Facebook group. When you join my page, be sure to come say hi!
Great vid and tut! Much learned about CA5.
Thank you sir. FIngers croess, I will be a LOT more involed with CTA and tutorials and webinars in 2023!
Can’t wait to dig in to this.
Making your own actors for 2D animation is a great feeling. I never tire of watching them come to life.
Thank you Garry!
My pleasure. I hope the video was helpful for you. Thanks for watching
great video garry!
Thank you my friend
30 days trial use is too short for learning everything, is it possible to remove the usage limit?I dun mind if you put loads of watermark everywhere
Thats not a decision I get to make. And I cant imagine Reallusion extending the trial period. All I can tell you is, Cartoon Animator is pretty awesome 2D animation software and totally worth buying.
Thank you please more tutorial for CAT5
This year I will be doing a lot of Live Streams on my RUclips channel that will cover a lot of learning.
How to use photopea with cartoon animator 5 ?
Im sorry, i am unable to help as I use CorelDraw.
Hi Garry thanks for the knowledge, so glad to find another resource! Can I use Adobe Animate to create compatible SVG characters and import those into CTA5? Or do I have to learn illustrator where Adobe is concerned, to accomplish this?
I am sorry to say that I have no understand of Adobe Animator at all to be able to answer that. But to create SVG actore, you need software that can create SVG art. But you can also create characters for CTA5 using PNGs.
adobe animate has all these functions and more
Please make a video tutorial step by step how to import vector puppet and mount all bones. I have problem with feet bones locking. Does not work.
Check this out. It may be of interest to you. ruclips.net/video/W1FeLtnF-x4/видео.html
Hi Garry, If I purchase one of your characters, would I be able to edit them on Ai like the shapes of the eyes face etc? I like to use the character as a base and customize the look on Ai. Thanks!
You would be able to export the character, but when you bring it back in, I believe it would be PNG based. Right now it is vector based.
@@GarryPye Thank you for!
Hi Garry thanks, what's the soft are you using here?
I am using CorelDraw to create the art, and Cartoon Animator to create the Animation. In post production I use Pinnacle to edit and add sound and music.
In Inkscape are all the tools you used free? All i have to do is download it? And in your opinion what format is the best out of the ones you listed? Thank you!
I dont use Inkscape. I use CorelDraw. Which is a paid product.
When you ask what format, format of what exactly? Im not sure what you mean.
I really want to learn and master this software. I wanna make music videos and safety tip instructive videos in my work place and for the wider community. How do I start?
CTA5 is the perfect animation software for music videos and instructional films. There are multiple ways of learning the software. CTA5 has its own online manual. There are official RUclips tutorials at www.youtube.com/@reallusion. And there is a fantastic community page at facebook.com/groups/CartoonAnimatorUsers
Hi Gary! Will there ever be a Mac version of Cartoon Animator 5?
I dont believe there will ever be an official Mac version of Cartoon Animator (just my opinion). However, there are some great articles written by CTA Mac users who found ways around this. Check out bit.ly/3sPp4h3 and bit.ly/3F03ZaH
How can I download assets without downloading it through the content manager
The content manager is the only way I know of downloading content purchased from the 2D Marketplace.
Is there a place to get ahold of editable vector characters for those of us who do not draw but want to create animations?
Also, can you import 3d models or 2d models made i programs like blender, XPS, SFM studio?
Although I have a huge selection of characters in my Website Store at garrypyecreations.com/ and there are more arriving every day, the characters are not edited easily. However, CTA5 now does give you Colour Management which allows greater control of the look of your characters, and if you are a talented artist, you could possibly edit characters by exporting them from CTA, making the changes to parts in your favourite art software and then importing them back in to CTA to swap with the original sprites.
@@countbang1305 Not that I am aware of.
How to export a character sprite from CTA to edit it in vector editor?
@@RajeshKchennai When I create my vector characters, I do so in CorelDraw. Then export my actor as an SVG and drop that in to Stage Mode of CTA. SHould I want to go back and make changes, I make them in COrelDraw, then re-export the SVG and import it, along with the changes, over the top of my actor in CTAs Composer Mode.
Hello Garry, I created my own character but whenever I tried to rig it or add bones to it, it never worked. I tried everything. I have no idea what's going on. If you can plz help me with this, I'll appreciate it
The best advice I can give you is to send me a private message on my Facebook page at facebook.com/garrypyeanimations and I will send you a copy of my tutorial "How to Rig a G3 Actor for Cartoon Animator". And then register for my free webinar with Reallusion later in May, 2023, where I will be discussing this process live. You can register at courses.reallusion.com/webinar/upcoming
@@GarryPye Thank you
Sir pls did you purchase this software with money pls answer me🙏🙏
I had to purchase this software with money. I tried using sea shells, but they would not accept them.
@@GarryPye I think he is asking because in some content stores you have use "points", not money.
@@soniarodriguez3810 Aah. It did seem like an odd question to me. I was not aware of that. I have always just purchased software with cash. Then the answer is yes, this software is purchased with cash.
