When one create a character inside Cartoon Animator 4, it is easy to make mistakes which means your character doesn't opporate inside Cartoon Animator the way it should. Believe me, this has happened to me a lot.
In this video I will show you a very easy technique I use to create characters that works every time without any faults. Your character will be riggered correctly and your animations will be a breeze.

I normally just open up the dummy in composer mode and replace all of my sprites with my own, and they will be in the correct folder that of the originals are in, when I draw my character I use Inkscape and I draw each peace in layers, then I export each peace in png or svg.

I suggest starting with a simple stickman just to make sure you've got the process correct.

Is there any way to do this without an outside program if you already have all the artwork finished? I just need to import and animate -- seems the program should be able to handle that without involving a 2nd program and complicating everything beyond reason.

Mark Díaz created a method to add the layers automatically using actions. It makes the process faster.

Hello I just purchased your course on Udemy and I have no idea how to contact you on there but I was wondering what character have you used to get the layers ready for our own characters because I’ve been trying to find the 360 head one but I can’t find it (I have CAT5 btw)
And when I remove the layers from my puppet the only thing that disappears is the vectors instead of the actual body parts of the puppet

What if your character doesn’t have ears?
You leave the "ear" folder empty and dont draw ant ears.
