Last week I saw her for my very first time live on stage. she is now 78 years old, and though she has heavy pain in her hips she did an amazing 2 hour concert! her voice is a little bit deeper but still crystal clear and full of power. this was the final song of the concert. and after each song she earned standing ovations. the audience went crazy and for me, it was the most amazing concert I ever saw. all my love and respect to mireille!
ABBA did the backing vocals on the French version and agnetha has already covered songs by Mireille Mathieu from her solo period in her youth, they know them very well.
You are talking about the greatest singer in European recording history (almost 200 mio. records sold), and if you listen carefully, you can hear that it is ABBA singing the French backing vocals! This French version was produced by ABBA shortly after the original was released, Alain Boublil was the contact who arranged the meeting, which was not their first. ABBA had been guests in MM TV-shows previously. Mireille Mathieu recorded the vocal in Stockholm in studio with Bjorn, Benny and Frida.
Indeed a great singer I will hopefully also see her live in Düsseldorf 2024 ‘Mireille Mathieu - Goodbye my Love Goodbye - Zum letzten Mal "The best of" I'm really looking forward to it now 😊
my grandpa loved her a lot. strangely she had a very huge success in germany and she sang a lot of german song without understanding or speaking the language. her nickname was "der spatz von avignon". she never changed her haircut. what a beautiful face she has. great pick, thanks for bringing her back into our minds!
@@MikeandGinger By the way, Napalm Records recently dropped a cover of ABBA's Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! by AMBERIAN DAWN. I'd never heard of them before, but Napalm Records is always a good sign. I have no regrets from clicking on it. 😃
'Always happens when we do French Ladies...' Oh boy. can't imagine the conversation during/ after the song Déshabillez Moi (translated Undress Me) by Juliette Greco. A scandalous song at the time (1967 one). Would love you check that out at one point. ^^
Let's see, how do I explain it well without anyone misunderstanding or feeling offended the singer is very good and her version is very good too respects almost exactly the timing of the song and the keys of the original voice In addition, this version has the choirs and the production of three members of ABBA, which guarantees a high quality. but... Agnetha is not here, the original, the owner of the song, the one that gives her emotional, passionate and heartbreaking tone and when you see Agnetha in the official ABBA video or in the two TV presentations, her gestures and her gaze pierce your soul that is the main difference, and it is not little impossible to come close to the incomparable performance of Agnetha Fältskog in "The winner takes it all"
In college I took a couple of semesters of Russian along with four of Spanish. I’d drive people nuts with my Sprussialish. The cover is nice, but nobody can touch the real deal. Agnetha’s voice impales the soul.
A crystal clear voice. even better then Celine Dion!! Bravo

Hermosa Mimi, reconocida por ABBA por su gran voz e interpretacion.Bravo Mimi,I❤you
Míreille went to Sweden to record it, all ABBA members played and made choirs for her . Benny and Bjorn produced it
Actually yes,FRIDA's voice is supporting backing vocals in there together with Bjorn and Benny.Agnetha is missing.

Superbe ! The greatest of our singers still alive.
Only Mireille could have done a great cover of Abba and Streisand and do them justice , she has an amazing voice , so powerful and soft !
Mireille was the favourite singer of Benny and Bjorn.

She is an amazing singer, seen her live at least 10 times. Check out her Ennio Morricone record, one of her very best.

That was spectacular, love French language when sung although don’t understand it. Merci beaucoup, that’s about the full extent of it. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺
I grew up listening to her.
I liked her duets with Julio Iglesias.
That was sooooo good. 💞💞 Loved it 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Way to go Mike 🤣🤣🤣
Such a nice cover of this classic song, great video.
There's some power in that little body.
Backing singers ARE Abba.

Dimash, please!
A new generation of French singers has already come. Nolvenn Leroy is the new Mireille Mathieu. And together with ZAZ them as a new Piaf.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOL !
Faut peut être pas exagérer non plus....

And she sings in playback, hahaha !!
