I met Rep. AOC while I was hiking soon after parks started opening after quarantine. She was with family and although I contemplated saying hi because I didn't want to be rude, I took the possible once in a lifetime chance. Rep. Alexandria was hands down, the sweetest, most humble person "celebrity" I've met. We took a picture and my boyfriend and I noticed in the background how her family was looking at her. They radiated pure happiness and you could tell they were proud.

The fact that she didn't have experience or didn't come from a political family made her that more attractive to voters. A position adopted by many working class families is that they're tired of politics, or rather traditional politics in which representatives do not improve the lives of their constituents. She represented a heightened ideology, especially at the time, and although a new candidate already had a niche developed. That's an incredible power, and anyone from any side of the aisle can appreciate that.
