Plot twist: They’re the new designs for a new “Heather’s” movie Edit: 800+ likes? Thanks! And guys don’t mind the Axxl guy. Just report him. And move on
Honestly if they want to go the route of the girls not wanting to fight crime, they could just have the three be stressed from balancing crime fighting with school work and other responsibilities. That'd make sense. We've seen episodes of the girls getting overworked. If they're college aged I could see them wanting some time off so they can do homework or other work or just take time to de-stress.
Wasn’t that the plot of another reboot though? The shitty one with terrible ‘’memes” in it. Idk maybe it wasn’t, but that sounded really familiar to me.
I'm somehow waiting for the inevitable fact that some sort of eldritch being will swallow all of us because the edgy shit annoys them too much and they're _done with it_
My girl Blossom would want to fight crime as a forensic scientist, Buttercup as SWAT team and Bubbles as a bubble tea seller because “people who like cute yummy drinks don’t kill people.”😂♥️
Honestly what I hope they don’t do for the reboot was to make them super 1 dimensional like they did in the cartoon reboot. Blossom was not just a leader, she was charismatic, smart and done with everyone’s shit. Bubbles was not just cutesy and innocent, she had a snarky side and could get really scary. Buttercup was not just a tomboy, she was scared of spiders and had a soft side. I hope they make the PPG actual characters instead of just labels
The reboot: One ginger girl One blond girl One black haired girl They hate each other for some reason, cus they need conflict but have to come together to fight crime. But they hate it. Ugh such a horrible life they have. So relatable~~
Doc Mc Stuffins: Grows up and has to watch her own mother writhe in agony on the floor and die of a heart attack when she failed to call 911 because she believed that she was a real doctor
“they’re gloomy 20 something year olds upset that they lost their childhood to fighting crime” the thing is, they love doing that-making the world a better place is literally what they were made for. and are we going to forget the episodes where it shows the audience what they do when they’re *not* fighting crime? i don’t know, the concept of them being depressed that they were “made” to fight crime as children seems extremely unlikely, i feel like they’d still be heroic. also i don’t want live action that’s gonna be so distracting
I know! fighting crime is not a constant thing they did, they went to school, made friends and did stuff with professor utonium, it's only about once a day or once a week that they actually fight crime
i feel like if they were to grow up and no longer like crime fighting and eventually have that turned into childhood trauma due to their brains not being able to like develop correctly from forcibly maturing and fighting at such a young age that the idea of them liking it as children would just be a way to cope so that their brains could block out how terrifying that would be for a child. they would probably all handle the trauma of their childhood crime fighting so differently. Like buttercup would develop major anger/aggression issues and lash out a lot and struggle to maintain friendships and relationships because she'd be so blunt and detached from other peoples emotions, bubbles would be an age regressor and collect things like squishmallows and other stuffies to replace the childhood she lost and have a hard time dealing with anything remotely physical due to ptsd flashbacks and panic attacks, and blossom would internalize a lot of it and have a lot of depression/anxiety issues and a hero's complex that she hides from the others because she's meant to be the "leader" and "dependent." idk, that's my take on it if we were to put them into a real world setting as adults having to deal with that kind of childhood trauma. but i still cant imagine that as live action. like i could see it as a more detailed animation style vs the simplistic original style, but live action?
@@CritXB I mean it kinda would be since they loose a lot of the fun they could have. Also they have to be the ones to save a whole city because no one else does apparently-
@@Ar-yp6nh yeah that may be true in our world but in the show they clearly enjoy saving the city and rarely do they even get annoyed from the calls from the mayor
They need to stop this like if they're going to turn literal kids shows into murder mysteries why not just create an original cast and not ruin a good show's legacy
*NEXT SHITTY REBOOT* THE BACK YARDIGANS PABLO IS NOW DEAD AND THE REST OF THE CREW HAS TO FIND THE MURDERER AND HPNOW TO L E A V E THE BACK YARD I would not be surprised if Netflix did this

Yeah if they _really_ wanna make them hate their crime fighting childhood they should do this, but honestly I don’t think they’d hate it they always enjoyed themselves and they didn’t lose their childhood, it was mostly normal
You meant "dependable", not "dependent". But yes, this is exactly what I was thinking too! I picture Bubbles with a lot of nervous habits, just trying to live a normal life with her cute things, and Blossom maybe getting really into studying & activism, but holding a lot of resentment & destructive perfectionism, while Buttercup would totally take the batman approach. Vigilante crime fighter.
For Blossom, she would probably be in college. Working for a Master’s degree. And probably works at some sort of up-there company on an internship. Buttercup’s probably doing her own thing. Unlike her sisters, she wants to enjoy her life since she is no longer a Powerpuff Girl. I think instead all of them hating being heroes, I think a smarter approach would be to have them react to it in different ways. Bubbles missed helping people, so she decided to work as a teacher or even a classroom assistant, like you said. Blossom would remember it fondly, but has long since accepted that her days of being a PPG are over, so she’s closing the book on that chapter and getting ready for the next chapter of her life. Buttercup, however, is down with her past. She wants to establish herself as a whole new person: not the prissy PPG she used to be. I defo wanna keep BCs tomboy nature. It’s a nice angle to take with an older version of her original character.
Bet she gonna be lesbian or bi-sexual in the reboot. That's kind of a trend in tomboys in modern movies. Just look at what they were gonna do to daphnie
I swear to God if they do that… I’m dreading this reboot. I was probably 9 or 10 when the made the 2016 reboot, so I watched it cuz i didn’t know what good TV was lol, but it wasn’t as good as the original. And now THIS. A LIVE ACTION, EDGY REBOOT. I swear, this is the last thing the world needs right now.
E-Bears: Egirl/boy bears piloting humongous Mecha and shooting lasers from the mecha's stomach symbol that cause stuff to catch on fire leading to massive collateral damage as they fight their enemies.
Apparently being “edgy” in Netflix’s eyes is being completely emotionless with some of the most boring colors in existence, AKA, the complete opposite of everything that the PPG stand for. My guess on how Netflix is going to handle the reboot is by having the acclaimed girls have no powers until the end of the season and just have them fight regular dudes instead of the colorful villains like Mojo Jojo and Him. TL:DR: don’t get your hopes up for this edgy Netflix reboot, or any edgy reboot for that matter Edit: It’s CW, not Netflix, but my point still stands
Generally... Have distrust as a default reaction when it comes to liveaction adaptation of anything. Better be blown away from expecting less than agonizingly disappointed from getting your hopes too high.
If they want an edgier but interesting aesthetic, they could just keep the colors and add more dramatic shading and black to contrast the bright colors. This is why I feel like a lot of shows should be animated as opposed to live action if there's going to be fantastical elements in the show, there's just so much more room to breathe to play with colors and effects and artistic concepts without breaking the illusion or coming off as corny. To be completely honest, I feel like seeing Mojo Jojo in a realistic-looking show wouldn't translate well at all. God, I want an edgy Powerpuff Girls reboot that's not live action. I'd like it to be animated, but not in the same way the original was animated. More like a cross between western animation and anime, giving it a more comic book kinda feel. I feel like having a lot of neon colors paired with black to contrast it would look really nice. Lots of dramatic shading, too. Lots of dynamic poses and animations. I'd like to think that Buttercup would still like to beat up villains, and Blossom would be looking to defend justice in ways that don't include violence, but Bubbles has completely stopped crime fighting to follow her passions and to live a normal life. That is, until one of the Big Bad Villains rises up again, after many years, determined to completely eradicate them. That villain most likely being Him or Mojo Jojo.
The thing that makes me mad is like,, seeing her designs of the characters and the potential direction to take the characters presents them in a new, interesting way that still keeps the core of each character makes me think that they *could* handle it well and honor the original show, but I'd bet money they won't. More than likely, all 3 of them are going to be broody, angsty, and weirdly morally grey. It'll probably be like Winx again, where they take a peppy, upbeat character and (for whatever reason) make her character the type that would consider setting her parents on fire
I heard a person who worked on a show about a stripper is gonna work on it i'm just gonna say it its creepy the girls are supposed to be 5-6 year olds fighting crime if they sexual it i'm just...that'd be so gross and wrong
A handful of these comments keep talking about how awful it is they're making another awful edgy reboot of a nostalgic franchise, but can we also talk about how the character redesigns Hailey came up with are just spectacular!?
With a name like Bubbles, I get the feeling they’ll give her a new name and have it be her stripper name 😒 Edit: The year is 2022, and I was pretty much right. I’m sorry

Hi!! My best advice is to just doodle!! Like comfort drawings if you will :) easy things for you to draw could be weird cats idk, just take it easy you know? When you have art block it's hard to draw, so don't push yourself. I really hope this helps at least a little :)))
The CW: 'Puts racial stereotypes and hyper-sexualization in adult take on kids show, spending tons' Lavender Towne: 'Designs faithful and enjoyable adult representations of kids show in a couple of afternoons' I don't know about y'all, but I would pick this over the CW version any day.
Ikr. And the edgy reeboots tend to try too much to be edgy which just end up as being childish. A great example of this effect is the shitshow that is legend of korra
Honestly,I hope this "edgy" reboot trend stops soon, this is getting kind of annoying of course if done well,it could be an interesting concept but we never know with those companies.
I feel like if they really need to make something dark and edgy just... please don't touch our childhood gems because this is getting out of control. I'm serously so tired of remakes in general, i want to see more brand new, original ideas. talking to you movie industry...
The concept of live-action powerpuff girls terrifies me, just based on how they're treated in the show. Their cartoonish eyes and hands are entirely different from any human in the show. They weren't humans to begin with, either way. I hope the CW doesn't ignore the fact that Professor Utonium literally made them from a chemical concoction, and they aren't humans, but holy *shit* I hope they don't go all out
I really hope they don’t make the girls hate each other or hate the professor. It was really nice to have them love each other even tho they fought sometimes. I just feel like it’s something they would do to give it some edge even tho it’s really not needed.
Reasons that i'm terrified abt the reboot : -They may turn Blossom into a depressed lawyer, they might turn Bubbles into an emo with anger issues and Buttercup into a girl who hangs out In ally's and does drugs -They might make the mayor into a lazy boi -They might make professer into an abusive dad -They might hate eachover -sombody might die
Sounds lovely. Maybe not as a reboot then, but as a standalone story. In fact, I don't even care for a ppg reboot, I'm way more interested in the show you just pitched.
NO PLEASE OH MY GOD TELL ME THIS ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS IS LITERALLY A PARODY ON RUclips CROSSING HBO'S "GIRLS" WITH THE* POWERPUFF GIRLS. MAKE IT STOP.
This... Are we just gonna not talk about how this is literally the plot to Umbrella Academy? They straight-up ripped off the plot to Umbrella Academy and stuck it on PPG.
Wait which part does it copy? Never saw the Umbrella Academy. The description sounds okay though, like the part where they resent their super hero life because they never had a chance at a normal childhood sounds realistic for the ppg world tbh.
@@DuskPShermanWallaby123 the whole “coming back in their twenties after moving on from their childhood filled with fighting crime in order to fight a new adversary” is what happens in the umbrella academy
Also I'd like to remind people that in the powerpuff girl universe, the way they are designed is the way people ACTUALLY see them. Even in the show people saying things like "bug eyed little girls" and talking about how different they look sooo....the actual way they are portrayed would probs be incredibly unnerving in live action :v
also they do not have fingers either, which is said when buttercup and professor switches body and buttercup in professors body cant pick up the phone with his fingers
This is now just making me think how would I imagine the power puff girls as adults. I kinda imagine the three still work with justice kinda thing like Buttercup could be a officer, Blossom becomes a lawyer, and Bubbles becomes a therapist or someone who works to try and integrate past criminals back into society.
Love how she added the purple to Buttercup and inadvertently gave her the stereotypical villain pallette XD Foreshadowing, or just good colour choice...?
Not EVERY single franchise needs to have a dark and edgy reboot!! Like, they’re already perfect so why the hell do they keep making these damn reboots?!
i'd definitely be interested with a general theme of the girls learning that "villains" aren't always 100% bad and a subplot with some sort of political conflict involving the mayor, maybe converging in the girls trying to convince the mayor that the criminals need help more than just prison. i just realized that's the plot of a lot of batman stories hold on...
Yup, I also think Flash had a couple moments with some of his villians like that, but yes Batman is the type to just recommend therapy and offering to get Wayne Industries to pay the bill
I’m from 3 months later, all the small of what the small script reveals tell me It’s horrible. They also messed up their whole personalities- (Buttercup is a horrible representation of a lesbian too, cuz she fall in love with every single girl she sees while already having a girlfriend) :”””)
Ok sorry if this isn’t the place to mention it but, i finally FINISHED one of my illustrations on my tablet and I’m really happy with it. I’ve never been so satisfied by something I drew. The pose is so fluid and dynamic, the colors are harmonious and eye catching, plus I’m finally starting to figure out my art style. It’s almost 3am and I’m watching some Lavendertowne to help me wind down, I’m just so excited and I really want strangers on the internet to praise me. I hope everyone had a good day!
I love this idea! but Him probably won't be there since you know,...... we live in an age where only straight white men can be the villain and twitter forbids seeing a minority as a villain. Which is a shame cuz I'm already imagining Him in a red lighted room comfortably sitting on a red velvet couch as they smoke with one those long cigarette holder😍

I love that when the three of them are standing next to each other, you can see how much they stand out. In the original cartoon, they all had the same outfit, just different colors which felt kinda basic to me. Now, they all look so free and unique. You did an awesome job!👍
There’s an artist on instagram who is making comics about the aged up powerpuff girls and it’s amazing and really funny and she did a really great job at keeping their core personalities but also changing it up a little to fit the setting of them being older! I recommend checking her out, her name is leecheedoodles :) Amazing video as always btw, I love your style so much! 😍
As for the "loosing their childhood to crime fighting", in the original, the girls did get frustrated and visualized living like regular girls, but that didn't mean they resented it (It was a strict duty they grew to love like a relationship with a sibling. You get irritated and imagine life without them, but you protect, love, and care for them.) It's shown they do like putting people in their place but they would ocassionally prefer to do it their ways. (Three girls and a monster episode) I can definitely see the girls continuing a crime frighting pursuit. Bloss would be a great lawyer/prosecutor since she's logical, articulate, and rational. Bubs is all about emotions and listening so she'd make a great therapist/psychatrist. Butters is a hands on with street smarts type of gal so police, vigilante, and maybe an FBI agent would be great for her. I'd imagine her as a female version of Derek Morgan (Criminal Minds fan know).

Honestly if they want to go the route of the girls not wanting to fight crime, they could just have the three be stressed from balancing crime fighting with school work and other responsibilities. That'd make sense. We've seen episodes of the girls getting overworked. If they're college aged I could see them wanting some time off so they can do homework or other work or just take time to de-stress.

i feel like if they were to grow up and no longer like crime fighting and eventually have that turned into childhood trauma due to their brains not being able to like develop correctly from forcibly maturing and fighting at such a young age that the idea of them liking it as children would just be a way to cope so that their brains could block out how terrifying that would be for a child. they would probably all handle the trauma of their childhood crime fighting so differently.

I think that accually sounds pretty nice as a concept right there.
as someone with ocd and minor ptsd it just sounds depressing- like why do we have to ruin a CLASSICAL kids show- ppg is a literal masterpiece
Yeah if they _really_ wanna make them hate their crime fighting childhood they should do this, but honestly I don’t think they’d hate it they always enjoyed themselves and they didn’t lose their childhood, it was mostly normal
That sounds really interesting if its exucuted well
You meant "dependable", not "dependent".
I feel like bubbles would be a good art teacher, I don’t know why I just do. (I think she would work with like Elementary school or younger students)
I think the same thing,
Maybe she can be a teacher assistant to miss Keene.

I agree with you brothers, this was my childhood, and now their going to try to fuck it up
Apparently being “edgy” in Netflix’s eyes is being completely emotionless with some of the most boring colors in existence, AKA, the complete opposite of everything that the PPG stand for. My guess on how Netflix is going to handle the reboot is by having the acclaimed girls have no powers until the end of the season and just have them fight regular dudes instead of the colorful villains like Mojo Jojo and Him. TL:DR: don’t get your hopes up for this edgy Netflix reboot, or any edgy reboot for that matter
Edit: It’s CW, not Netflix, but my point still stands
It's not Netflix, it's the CW!
Ewwww, yuck Netflix!!! Bring back the bright and colorful aesthetics for once!
Generally... Have distrust as a default reaction when it comes to liveaction adaptation of anything. Better be blown away from expecting less than agonizingly disappointed from getting your hopes too high.
They're not going to have Him. The best villain (imo) 🙁. Never had my hopes up in the first place
Yeah I feel like Bubbles is gonna be like Harley Quinn or something

Yup, I also think Flash had a couple moments with some of his villians like that, but yes Batman is the type to just recommend therapy and offering to get Wayne Industries to pay the bill
I’m from 3 months later, all the small of what the small script reveals tell me It’s horrible.
They also messed up their whole personalities-
(Buttercup is a horrible representation of a lesbian too, cuz she fall in love with every single girl she sees while already having a girlfriend) :”””)
not to mention there's the whole 'angry and agressive' lesbian stereotype
your designs are sooo cute, they should hire you to style people in live action adaptations
*Or*, do it animated. Animation is superior
I think it is better if she is hired to create het own cartoon OwO
Am I the only one who genuinely hopes that these redesigns end up in the actual reboot?
You hoped too much ;^;
There's no way...
You arent the only one Q^Q

I think blossom would follow in her father's footsteps as a scientist in uni. It would be cool if she investigates chemical X in the show.
Nice!!
Good job!
I'm happy for you ❤️
long time since I have seen a genuine happy art related comment, good job on that and good job on your art
I’m happy for you!!!! I always watch lavender Towne when I draw too!!
If the major villain is Him, then they should be played by a drag queen.
Y E S
I love this idea!
but Him probably won't be there since you know,...... we live in an age where only straight white men can be the villain and twitter forbids seeing a minority as a villain.
Which is a shame cuz I'm already imagining Him in a red lighted room comfortably sitting on a red velvet couch as they smoke with one those long cigarette holder😍
@@edenwayne8407 ya, watch the main villain be Professor Utonium’s evil twin brother or a human mojo jojo😛
“i pictured her as kinda a roller derby girl”
*i’m literally at derby practice right now-*
I wanna try roller derby but I'm scared of getting hurt :(
@@dragonfly9856 Hey! A person who will hopefully go into roller derby soon, there’s definitely a high chance of getting hurt, but there are a lot of things to protect you as well! Like special hip pads, elbow and wrist pads, ect. You can also find a lot of tutorials on how to fall safely, and how to find extra precautions. I hope you try out! You never know, it may be your favourite hobby.
Wasn’t there a roller derby episode of PPG at one point?
@@mckensiraab7519 yea lolol
I do roller-derby to! Sadly I’m still in level 1 though lmao!
I feel like all three of them would be interested in justice in their own different ways when they grow older
I can imagine Blossom focuses on law, while Buttercup goes into the physical fighting aspect, and Bubbles get more active in charity and community service
as soon as i saw the notification i started to say "no" quietly, very much in denial of what they are going to do to the powerpuff girls

It’s calming✨
Honestly the thing I’m most scared of is how they’re gonna design *him* cause even now *him* still terrifies me-
They'll just make Him into a black non binary transgender woman, who lectures the girls on pronouns as well as often using Twitter in his schemes.
I'm a be honest
Just recently I realized what his design represents

I love how people always draw older bubbles as being the thick one or more curvy, I think it’s because of her name
Yeah I see that a lot
It's kinda cute!!
Curvy characters do tend to look soft and cute in styles like this lol
i portray her like that because of her nature. I feel like Blossom would be slim and feminine, Bubbles is about cute, sweet fluffy stuff cuz u know. She was SUGAR

I recommend checking her out, her name is leecheedoodles :)
Amazing video as always btw, I love your style so much! 😍
Thanks
AAAAAA YES I love her comics
Yes! They're so cute and doesn't turn them into eDgY teens
Ooh interesting who's the artist that does the comics do you have a link or something?
Edit: Nevermind I read the comment

How in the world did they turn powerpuff girls into a live action teen/adult reboot??
Ikr why
