  • Hey fellow surf addicts, so I've recently picked up and purchased the latest trend in the surfing world, The Inferno 72 by Sharpeye's creator Marcio Zouvi. I think this boards a good board, but due to a lack of swell and average sand banks, I haven't been able to test it out in bigger surf. However, I have managed to test it on a stretched out 2.5 ft left hander, and the boards come alive with early entry and flare. We'll see how surfs 5-10 go.
    Conditions: 2-6 ft
    Fins so far:
    - FCS 2 Accelerators (Medium)
    - FCS 2 AM Template (Large)

    I’m a average surfer and live in Southern California, I have the board in dark arts and I feel it lives up to its hype. It’s one of my two favorite boards that I always grab. It def feels super user friendly , getting into waves really easy and just goes wherever you want it to

      I would love to try the dark arts construction, that would grovel amazingly. Our banks here on the east coast of Australia haven’t been offering the goods. I can’t wait to test it out when it gets a bit bigger, what fins are you currently running?

      @@jakesboardreviews mine is futures, I’ve tried a bunch of different fins a lot didn’t feel that great to me until I found some that worked good.
      Pyzels which are normally my favorite fin they felt a little Swirly, Mayb if I used the larges it would feel better. The Andos didn’t feel great either. I’m really liking the tokoros for everyday and I use the Timmy Pattersons for smaller surf.
      The performers would prob be a good place to start since the board was designed using the Toledo fins and those are based off the performers . I’m not a fan of the toledos , they feel like they drag to me.
      The new Flores fins are really really good, work in every board I’ve put them in. But there larges and you look like you ride mediums

      @@PineappleSmack Thanks for the help mate, appreciate it. I mainly ride medium fins, but sometimes, go large depending on the outline of the board. May add some Flores fins to my fin quiver, cheers mate.

      @@jakesboardreviews no worries bro, glad to help. The medium Pyzel fcs fins are really sick too. Large base and really thinned out tip, keeps them really fast and loose.

    Hey Jake to help with your fins I run the performers in performance core for the better days suck as 4-6+ than I run the reactors in performance core from 3ft and below

      Cheers mate, I appreciate the recommendations. I think I’m gonna try the MF’s next in a medium. I feel the board needs a bit more hold as it gets a bit bigger.

    I'm umming and ahhing between this or the pyzel phantom as an everyday performance shortboard. The JS MonstaBox seems to keep coming up too. Wondering if you've had a go on either of those and if so how do they compare to the Inferno 72? Thanks for the review

    • @jakesboardreviews
      @jakesboardreviews  2 года назад

      I’ve ridden the original Monsta Box and heard great things about the phantom. The Monsta box has a lot less double concave than the Inferno 72. This means in small waves, the Inferno 72 will be quicker in transition from turn to turn. The Inferno 72 is that board you take when the waves are 2-5 ft, where the Monsta box has a larger range but worse in smaller waves in the PU construction. Also the Inferno 72 has a thicker tail block than the original Monsta box, which helps you get over the flat sections easier.

  • @changingphysiques

    Mate this board is absolutely Seeeck. Not sure if you're review is BS. The hype is real. I'm an average everyday surfer mate. If I had listened to your review you would have robbed me of a surf experience that I would consider the best surfing I've ever had and done. You might need to get better or review boards with less performance

    • @jakesboardreviews

      It’s all preference mate. Hence a reason why there are so many different shapers across the globe.

    • @changingphysiques
      @changingphysiques 2 года назад

      @@jakesboardreviews jake, its not preference. You're reviews are biased. Biased on your ability. That's a fair review if you're saying "I'm a below average intermediate and I'm not ready to fairly give this board a review at my current standard"
      That's a fair statement. You can't or shouldn't be reviewing high performance surfboard as a low level intermediate. You're gonna have a hard time and your reviews will be negative unfairly.
      An advance or pro can fairly be critical as they have the ability to put the board through a good test.
      I'm not being negative. I think if you aimed your reviews at the beginner to intermediate market and reviewed mid lengths and hybrids your audience would be receptive and you'd have a niche market too.
      But to review HP surfboards and give them a shit review based on your current ability is just un fair to those that are above yiyr standard who may be put off getting a board like the If72 which is an absolute seeeeck board. Just sayin..
