- Siwa is an island in the middle of the desert, where the Great Sand Sea comes to rest at the foot of the date palms.
This large oasis, bordered by its two lakes of turquoise blue, is unique in Egypt and attracts travellers in search of authenticity, far from the hordes of tourists who flock to the banks of the Nile.

Egypt 🇪🇬 ❤❤❤❤❤
I was traveling all over Egypt in September 2021. I met a young Spanish couple in Aswan, they told me that they were trying to visit this oasis but they got stopped by the police for no reason, held up for hours. They figured out the police were trying to ask for money but they refused to pay. They were released eventually, but they moved on to see Aswan, where we met !
If i were to visit this region again,ni will try to visit this place, hopefully without police asking for money
