For all of those who guessed what the surprise was for today.... well. DEARLY BELOVED 2012 OF COURSE. Just when you thought I forgot to play it this year, think again! HOWEVER, I'm not entirely sold on this video. To be quite honest, I just may be burnt out with Dearly Beloved. This was one of the hardest videos to record, and it really shouldn't be. I was trying to record this for... the PAST TWO MONTHS, with more epic fails than you can possibly imagine.
Now.... can you be completely honest? Is this not good enough? If so, I can try to play it ONE MORE TIME in the next 20 hours or so before it's officially 2013. The p-120 sounds great, but the action is really hurtin' these days, making it difficult to play what I'm thinking in my head accurately. The p-155 is much easier to play on, it just does not produce nearly as epic of a sound.

I used to have long rides to school in the morning. I had this 2012 rendition of DB downloaded on my iPod and would play it during the ride to give myself some peace of mind. Thank you, Kyle.
I was in highschool in 2012 and this was always my favorite version too. 💙 seeing the way that his technique improved I 2022-2023 is so amazing

Nice~really nice.The thing with dearly beloved is that,those who play the games or at least for me,feel kinda sad every time listen to the melody,the memories are so heavy....but this,somehow improved on that.Nice.

I hope I can one day I can fathom and play a piece as beautiful as this. Thank you kyleanddry for showing me the highest potential a soulful and dedicated pianist can reach. When I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 13 (14 now) and had to amputate my leg, I stopped piano because I never had time in between appointments and treatment..it always felt like something was missing in my life, as piano brought me so much happiness. Watching Kyle inspires me so much...I can't even explain it without sounding cheesy as hell. I'm going back to lessons soon. I'm not letting this disease rule my life. You're honestly just amazing. I have never played the game, my daughter introduced me to the song a few years ago and , I don't know why, but it makes me cry whenever I listen to it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who cries at it.

Realistically? It can take about 2-3 years of intense practice to play like this, if you're talented. By intense, I mean hours and hours of day to day practice.
If you're not willing to practice hours and hours or lack the talent to play with such ease, then it'd take you many more years. Dedication and love for what you play is needed.
Rada Mstep you can't just measure it like that dude, the time it takes depends mostly on natural talent. There are 4 year olds that could play this and 20 year olds that it could take 5+ years.

KH waz my child hood and when i hear you play this it reminds me of all the special times i had when i was a kid... thank you kyle for playing this beautiful piece of of music for us.
He improvised the entire thing; no music at all. Someone has probably tried to transcribe it, but 12 minutes of highly complex piano playing is a difficult feat to put into sheets.
I think some of it is improv, but it mainly kept to the actual song from my memory.
Let me go cry for a bit because of how good the original one was though.
Probably no one will see this until RUclips recommends it again two to three years later, but so grateful for this one. It was one of those pieces that you wish never stopped. For a short time, I forgot everything and heard music. It’s inspired me to one day reach beyond your level so that I may gift others something similar to what you have given me. Thank you

Anthony McGeorge its certainly close, but I think legend of zelda music takes the top spot. kh is definitely in the top 3 for video game music though.

Oh my god, this guy is amazing. He comes in here, plays incredible remixed versions of songs from some of my favorite childhood video games, makes me feel feelings I can never feel from any other music, and does it in a way that draws attention to how much IS THAT A SKYRIM MAP!
