  • We head out for a night with Chef Javier Plascencia, who knows Tijuana all too well. From high-end restaurants to food truck lots, we try a little bit of everything the city has to offer, including its unprecedented craft beer boom and local party scene. From yellowfin tuna to fondue-dipped hot dogs, and ending with the original recipe for the Caesar salad, this is the ultimate food guide to everyone's favorite sin city south of the border.

As a SoCal native, I am not sure if I should be proud or depressed... Mexico does everything better: surf, beer, women, food, pot. The essential things done well.

Great episode. SD native and Club Tijuana FC (Xolos) season ticket holder. Was cool to see some of my favorite TJ spots be highlighted. Tijuana is in a renaissance and as someone who has seen some its ups and downs over the years it is great to see.

Awesome episode. I won't go to TJ again though. I can't get the impoverished kids on the street selling gums out of my mind. I miss the churros from Ensenada especially but, I can't stand seeing hard working people struggling in the corner of my eye while I'm pigging out. Horrible after taste.

I actually live in L.A. County. My favorite BBQ place is in Inglewood called Woody's. I mean, Churches Chicken has bullet proof glass up with a roundabout pay door it's so ghetto in that area. Homeless people rambling and asking for money. That doesn't bother me. I mean the little kids that I used to see without supervision walking down Coahuila or blind older woman selling food is what broke my heart. If there is new programs helping the young and poor over there though, I'm glad.
