    We have been using this curriculum for many years. So easy for me, answers in the back of the book and many fun times with the read-aloud books. The upper level books are fantastic lots of discussions and very eye opening.

    I just ordered this package for my 3rd and 5th grader and so far we are enjoying it! I've encouraged them to do the Bible/reading independently (together) and it's great hearing them talk about God's word with each other. 😊

      Yes! It's one of the sweetest sounds to my ears. I keep repeating to my son (partly to remind myself), 'There's no better thing you can do than pray.' We read loads of the Bible too. I am hoping God will use him mightily in the future. God bless friend.

    Not sure if it matters to you or your viewers. I reached out to the curriculum and found they are a Reformed/Calvinist curriculum and do teach this in their later sections a long with the theology teachings. Just in case you weren't aware. I know not everyone is ok with that Theology. God bless you!

      Great point. I think I grew up listening to Kevin Swanson on Generations Radio, so I knew that, but maybe I should have mentioned it.

      That's actually great news for me! We're Reformed Baptist!

    Just talked to a lady at generations (she was so sweet and loves The Lord!). She said they’re about to roll out grade 2 math this summer and, Lord willing, will keep adding math to more grades as they’re able.

      That's great. I read they were coming on the website. So glad the lady was nice. It really makes a difference!

    We love generations curriculum 🙏
    We use history and science for 6th grade and we use generations phonics 📚 which my 4 year old loves 🎉
    And of course, I have a whole set of 1st grade, can't wait to start it😃🙏📚

    Love your videos. How is the history with multiple ages? And have you tried mystery of history? Wondering what you think about that one in comparison if you have.

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  8 месяцев назад

      I don't think it's wonderful if you want to do it across multiple ages. But, I think you could stretch it a bit. Mystery of History is fantastic! Good choice. Recommended. To be honest, I love BJU Press (Which is the one I have). I like the teacher-led video lessons becasue i can cook/clean/work while my son homeschools. Or I can homeschool my daughter in the background while my son does BJU Press. He aslo loves BJU Press. That said, BJU is MUCH more expensive than Generations.

      @@howtohomeschool this was a great answer and so helpful. Thank you so much for the advice. I’ll have to look into Bju history now. lol. So many great programs out there. Do you feel like Bju is hard to use with a wide range of ages?

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, unfortunately! I think it's made for one child of a certain age. It's definitely not designed for multiple ages.@@TheChan7

    Hi there, how does this compare to Abeka? Specifically for 1st grade? I have heard great things about the Abeka phonics program.

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  Месяц назад +1

      Abeka is roughly 3-4 times the price. It's also more rigorous than generations (almost everything is less rigorous than Abeka haha).
      Generations offers only offline (no videos) Abeka offers online teacher led lessons. They also have accreditation (which Gen doesn't).
      Abeka is traditional. Gen has its"own" short of homeschool method. Most closely thought about as a "biblical focus and mission mindedness" which runs throughout the curriculum. Hope that helps :)

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  Месяц назад +1

      They're very different but I know Abeka won't let you down. Gen also gets good reviews though and is much more affordable. Either is fine. Go with your gut and your wallet restrictions. God bless friend

    Thanks for the review… Do you think this curriculum is enough on its own to cover Au curriculum requirements or would it need to be substituted… particularly English and Math?

    • @helenedwards2560
      @helenedwards2560 Год назад

      Also, there is a contact in Au that you can buy this through now which I imagine would save on postage

      Really, who are they?

    • @howtohomeschool
      @howtohomeschool  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, I think it would cover most. Have you started your educational program? When you do that, you can put the curriculum content/outline against learning objecteives and see what fits. There would be a few gaps, but not many I'd say.

      Yes! I found that out. I spent 189 so if I'd only spent 11 dollars more, I would have got free shipping haha.
