The myth stems from some dude that speculated, its not actually a fact
This reeks of something a thalmor would post no nord would be caught doing such devious acts, the thalmor have posted this to cause division amongst the nords
I assume the Conan the Barbarian is the Disney one, since if you know anything about real Norse lore you would know they can get down right freaky. Hell I'm not going to even include the time Loki turned into a mare and got impregnated so that he could win a bet.
@@odlfmariner470 well yeah most of the real freaky stuff is in mythology since that was fairly accepted as stuff they could ignore back in the day. On the other hand much of the gay stuff was altered or erased by monks in later centuries. On a side note I remember a fun little story about how one of my viking ancestors stole a Scottish clan heads daughter, he apparently liked her a lot and went back to Scotland to ask for her hand in marriage. Obviously he wasn't going to give her back so her father agreed since a wife has certain rights a concubine doesn't.
That was how I actually beat Morrowind, NGL. Me and my friend group have a joke about how my experience with Morrowind went. I had played as an Argonian playthrough 5 times, and each time, at varying points throughout the game, my save file would be corrupted. Power would go out during saves, sometimes my Xbox would just be turned off and I'd come back to find the game unloadable. Even when I had multiple save files this would happen to all of them, even when ones would have worked. My friends joke saying that it must have been Dagoth's doing because he hates Argonians. SO then I played as a Nord, and 12 year old me being ignorant of how RPGs were designed, went to Soltheim, and trained from level 1-16 there first. It was a slough with many a reload, but eventually I got Hircine's ring and then training became much easier when I couldn't handle the quests I was on, as I'd just slot on the ring and go ham. Eventually, I went back to morrowind and did the quests like I should have, was over-leveled and beat the game with that Nord character. I still play argonians in the newer games, but I still need to go back and beat it as an Argonian.
Yeah. I just started playing Morrowind for the first time again in years, and I really miss the tribal Germanic influence the Nords in that game had. Kinda' getting sick of Viking stuff myself..
Let's be real here. Apart from the lore books the in-game nords in Morrowind just say something like "welcome to place would you like to know about a specific person"
I feel that Elder Scrolls 5 has a realistic view of a “modern” Skyrim since between ES III and ES V there’s a 200 year gap, a lot can change in the span of 200 years, the age of Nordic heroes are practically dying in Skyrim at this point and has become more tame and more political similar to how Scandinavian countries aren’t full of Vikings anymore due to entering a modern era, some resisted and many accepted while respecting tradition similar to how Skyrim is portrayed in ES V
If you're going to take it that far, then why, after so many hundreds of years between games, no one has progressed beyond a medieval level of technology? If they are able to have societal change, why not technological change as well?
@@manoffewords1 if you look at this way, I’m sure many are afraid to progress technologically considering what they’ve seen with the Dwemer. No one knows what happened to the Dwemer in-game so among the people of Tamriel’s POV they can imagine that being too technologically advanced is what killed them off and besides I’d see no reason to advance if your civilization wielded magic like any other tool but ofc ultimately the only reason why we get the medieval setting is cause it looks cool
@@manoffewords1 The biggest problem with technology development is the existence of magic. Think about it; if in real life, we could study some words and snap our fingers to make fire, then anyone smart enough to do so would do so, rather than develop the technology to do so. All the smart people spend their time studying how to make bigger fireballs or more effective charm spells, so technology never evolves past simple machines and principles.
@dysfunctionalthor4719 Well, like you said, no one really knows what happened to the Dwemer, but they did leave pockets of their medieval steam-punk technology all over. You would think in all that time, someone would have tried to reverse-engineer some of it or at least try to find out how it works. Instead, they just collect it as trinkets and decorations.
I miss playing a nord in Morrowind and just bullying every magic user I came across. "Oh you cast a shock spell at me? Ha! I have 50% natural resistance! Now taste my axe!"
Conan the Barbarian is a childhood movie for me, I really love it ! And Norsemen is one of the funniest series I've ever watched, it's so sad that they didn't continue..
I really don't get the second one. There really isn't a common characteristic among he Nords in Skyrim (game), other than them most of them being angry at someone.

Defender's Hit rate = ((Agility / 5) + (Luck / 10)) * (0.75 + 0.5 * Current Fatigue / Maximum Fatigue) + Sanctuary Magnitude

Fortify attack - you can get it using a spell or selecting the warrior birth sign (+10)
Sanctuary - you can get it using spells, playing a dunmer (racial power +50), or selecting the thief birth sign (+10)
Here are some tips for combat:
- if you plan to do a lot of melee combat try building a character with at least 1 major weapon skill (skill starts at 30, or 40 if the skill belongs to your specialization - combat or stealth)
- try choosing a weapon skill your race is best suited for (you can get up to 55 if your race gives you +15)
- always keep your stamina up!!! drink a potion if you have to
- try using a weapon you are most proficient with
- use a bound weapon for the +10 fortify weapon bonus (its also a daedric weapon!!!)
- always use your best attack for max damage
- attack enemies from stealth if you can for +50% damage (chameleon or invisibility works)
- try raising your strength over 50 to get bonus damage
- it is worth spending some gold on training if your weapon skill is really low
Some other useful tips:
- your movement speed is directly influenced by your speed attribute and your total Encumbrance
- Athletics will increase your running and swimming speed at a cost of stamina, so careful not burning all stamina before combat
- if you cannot bear walking slow at the start, it might be a good choice to select the steed birthsign (+25 speed)
- there are boots in the game with an enchantment that makes you run insanely fast, but I will keep it a surprise for you to find out.
Starting slow might be painful, but it will help you appreciate the speed later once you find a way around it - either by using bullshit items, bullshit spells, high stats, skills or some other crazy solution you can come up with.

nords in obilvion:you know what they say HOME'S IS WHERE YOU HANG YOUR ENEMY'S HEAD
I was expecting a scene from American History X or something lol
The people who appear in the Skyrim reference are from the norsemen series
I long for the days of high adventure.
Norsemen is so underrated. Great to see it getting some attention
Fun fact, what the guys are saying about viking law is wrong. Theres nothing about being the active law. Being a homosexually wasnt differenciated if you are the top or bottom, you were bogged either way. If it was found out. Its also not viking law, its germanic law lol.
The myth stems from some dude that speculated, its not actually a fact
Nord: Okay i have had enough ale for tonight.
You like to dance close to the fire, don't ya?
Haven't laughed this hard in days. :D
Ahaha my pleasure :)))
I guess things are just More Relaxed and Easy in the Homeland!
I must have missed Conan the Nerevarine.
Only pitchers go to Valhalla.
This reeks of something a thalmor would post no nord would be caught doing such devious acts, the thalmor have posted this to cause division amongst the nords
You couldn't run 20 steps without running into Berserkers in Bloodmoon lmao. So definitely accurate using Arnold from Conan there.
You can't run 10 step without being attacked by something in Solstheim ahahah
NOT A NORDIC PERSON, UNLESS YOU COUNT AUSTRIA AS A NORDIC COUNTRY, LOL !!
Real Nordic lore vs Disney/Marvel Nordic lore LOL
I assume the Conan the Barbarian is the Disney one, since if you know anything about real Norse lore you would know they can get down right freaky. Hell I'm not going to even include the time Loki turned into a mare and got impregnated so that he could win a bet.
@@johnchristianson515yeah but that's just the mythology.
@@johnchristianson515 I remember this, it was a very disturbing moment reading about pregnant Loki 😂
If it was Disney/Marvel Nordic lore they would be black and Asian.
Nords are always both.
"What is steel, compared to the hand that wields it?"
Pass the skooma.
Lmao starting your training in Solstheim sounds like a tough life, what a warrior mindset
I love that show. I need to rewatch it. Lol
I started to watch it again to relax before going to bed, still hilarious ahaha
Hey, this Nord just saw what the Spartans and Sacred Band of Thebes were up to, and figured he’d want a chance to impress his battle buddies 😁
One classmate that i had used almost the same argument ' if you are the one active you are not gay at all '
😂😂😂
Yeah. I just started playing Morrowind for the first time again in years, and I really miss the tribal Germanic influence the Nords in that game had. Kinda' getting sick of Viking stuff myself..
Dude this is on point as hell.
Ahahah thanks a lot
@@UlvenTES You're welcome. Thank you for this comedy gold.
HAVE YOU SEEN ANY ELVES? HEHAHEHA
“Ehleeghal”
Yup, that's how i imagined Skyrim, before Skyrim came out. I was hoping it would be more... Conanic
Eyy, Norsemen reference, cool
😎
Was super sad when they canceled Norseman. That show was hilarious.
NOW *THIS* IS FIGHTING!
HAARRRR
as a nord in real life this is verry accurate.
Ahahah 🤣
You see those warriors from Hammerfell? They’ve got curved swords. Curved. Swords.
Let's be real here. Apart from the lore books the in-game nords in Morrowind just say something like "welcome to place would you like to know about a specific person"
Love Northmen, one of the best series I've ever seen
I love that show Norseman l. Gutted they didn't carry it on.
@@whakamol to each their own
I miss playing a nord in Morrowind and just bullying every magic user I came across.
"Oh you cast a shock spell at me? Ha! I have 50% natural resistance! Now taste my axe!"
Nords are definitely overpowered, probably S tier race with Redguard and maybe Breton
Assuming thats the conan movie wbich ive been meaning to see, but norseman i can highly recommend!
Conan the Barbarian is a childhood movie for me, I really love it ! And Norsemen is one of the funniest series I've ever watched, it's so sad that they didn't continue..
Me playing as a Nord in Skyrim: boring and predictable..
Me playing as a Nord in morrowind: I HAVE THE POWER
Welp. Home is home mate 😂
These are the imperials in Skyrim: but in Oblivion they were men
True true
Nords in Skyrim must be suffering from to much chemicals in the water that’s making the frogs gay.
In other words, Sweden versus Finland 😂
Ahahahah
Somalians in Tamriel?
I really don't get the second one. There really isn't a common characteristic among he Nords in Skyrim (game), other than them most of them being angry at someone.
you either get it or you don't
Must have been imperial nords
For sure lol
I'm gonna do yall a favor, while in Solsteim listen to Bathory's: blood on ice, Nordland 1&2, twilight of the gods, and hammerheart (in that order). You are so very welcome.
Norsemen is so funny, definitely recommend
I recommend people watch Norsemen, show is a hidden gem.
+1 amazing series
I’ll never play skyrim as a nord again.
make it "ill never play skyrim again" vvardenfell awaits
Wise words
Norseman was such a great show 😂😂
Noooo the Bear :(
"It's not gay to top"- Old Norse proverb
...there are Nords and there are nords...just as there are Imperial mongrel n'wahs and imperial Mongrel N'wahs...lol...
"Let's fight...doggy style."
The Nords from back then would have never had to deal with civil war, they were too proud to give in to the empire and the elves.
They were part of the Empire tho
@@CenturionMariusVinicius This isn't of any matter, the nords don't need the empire, but the empire needs them.
