- I Picked up this wrecked 2014 Yamaha R1 about a year ago, and now it's time to bring it back to life! Watch as we go over the damage that was done to this bike after it was involved in an accident where it hit a deer! We are also able to fire the bike up and hear the sound of its beastly crossplane motor!

I don't know a single thing about motorcycles but this makes me want one to rebuild.
I watched my buddy hit a deer on this thing. It was scary but I’m glad you brought this bike back to life. Thankfully he was okay
I'm glad Hayden healed up and is back up and riding again!
Loved this version of R1,unlike the one after it i cant stand how that one looks,why i could forget that R1 exists.
I said it before on one of your videos but I appreciate the "no fluff" aspect of what you do in comparison to someone like Chase Bueker. You only do what's essential to getting the bike back to road worthy and that makes for a more entertaining video, in my opinion.
I'm blown away how well this bike survived hitting a deer! I hit one in my mustang GT at 80mph and it collapsed the roof all the way down level with the dash. If it would of hit my drivers side and smashed it like the passenger side I wouldn't be here writing this message.
Since you have to get a subframe, new fairings and new headlight, you should totally go for a 2018 conversion!
I like the idea, but I have to say I like the 2014 body style more!

I didn't really understand the crossplane hype until I rebuilt a 2009 R1 during quarantine. The sound is absolutely intoxicating. It's insane.

What you paid; $3200? The priciest bits will likely be forks, headlight, and fairing kit assuming you don't get a screaming deal that none of us mortals ever seem to find (joking, sort of). I'd imagine with another $2500 you can get it back to OEM. If you put all new fluids in and tires on another $400. Honestly, a very fixable bike and nice find!
I’d have a hard time wanting to sell this one. I’d keep it for at least a little bit. The crossplane 4 is an awesome sound! Hope you keep this one in Yamaha Blue. Looking forward to the update!

Epic vid as always Rob! The sound is truly amazing. You could have switched the garage lights off, so when the flames leave the exhaust, that would've made a nice light show , and for you a great thumbnail :)
On the other hand I don't understand some people, why would they buy a beautiful 1000cc bike, spec it out with carbon and then decide not to ride it?? 2300 miles in 8 years is nothing. It is just been run in, and was standing most of its life..
I ride 2300 miles in 4 weeks normally..

i till recently had a mt10 sp so yeah crossplane is monster, only regret i have on theese monsters are their seat height, 835mm is pretty far up for my 1.73m^^

So is this a repair for the owner or did you buy it from him? Needs tuned as its igniting unburnt gas in the exhaust?
I purchased this from the owner that wrecked it, and yes I would agree that a tune is needed since the bike is currently shooting flames lol
@@RKMotorsports not arguing it may need a tune but some of these CP bikes shoot flames no matter with a tune and some people even tune it in on purpose check the recently dyno tuned R1M on the Moore mafia YT channel 👍🏼can't wait to see this finished and I expect this to become part of the personal collection lol 😆

A beautiful motorcycle to start from for sure but to me that was way too much carbon. It looked like a race car puked on it. I’d love to see this with a simple aftermarket colour scheme
