Frankly, I'd like to understand the fixation that motorcycle owners in the USA have with putting LED lighting all over their bikes. Putting them on the wheels is the most clueless thing I've ever seen.

There is a code on one of the locks. Either the helmet holder or the rear seat lock. The locksmith can cut a key from that code. Usually a 5 or 6 number code

Hi mate, nice work getting it to run. Just got a black gen 4 ZX10R from auction for $2500. A cracked plastic under left mirror, but otherwise mint with 20k miles. Will be my next project once i finish the Z750. Only concern is that on the paperwork says it has an engine knock that i wasnt aware of until after purchase.
Hopefully its just new oil and spark plugs 😂

My bike was stolen two summers ago. They cut the wire harness and busted up my ignition pretty good. Needless to say the bike was recovered but I couldn't ride it cause I could no longer get the key in it so I bought a new ignition with two new keys. Now I have 4 keys. Two for the ignition, and two for the gas tank and to get the seat off.

Someone hit my bike.. his had 40,000 miles he had no insurance so he gave it too me 05 Cbr600rr do you think it’s worth rebuilding needs new front end, fairings, swingarm, exhaust, cables, switches few other small things… what’s your thoughts?

Never a good idea to lent anyone anything.
Twice in my college day, i let my friends use my car, one time, it came back with the left bumper dent, and this friend kept quite about it, which i found out later.
The other time, another friend, ran the car into another car head on... And he just returned the car back to me without any mentioning he will cover the repairing expenses.
Luckily i ve got insurance... But then im left stranded without private transportation for 2 weeks while the car was being repaired in the workshop.
Nowadays i would rather not lent anybody anything. Just find an excuse...

I had what I thought was a good used engine from a wreck but it turned out to have a crack in the head. That's pretty common in this kind of wreck. And hard to spot.

a new frame will be less than a grand transfer the parts to it or a good weld shop can fix that crack for a lot less

Try a different locksmith. Not sure WHY the locksmith couldn’t make a key for any locksmith should if they are able to make keys for ignitions doesn’t make sense how they couldn’t!?!?
So a little more detail on that part... They were able to make a key for the ignition and got the ignition to turn, but the tumblers inside the ignition cylinder must have been damaged in the wreck since the key kept spinning all the way around when you would turn it. Therefore it didn't turn the electrical switch inside the ignition properly to get it to run. It was a faulty ignition, not a mistake on the locksmith's end...
Oh ok, they made a key but the ignition was fubar gotcha

Some bike keys have weird key blanks. I had to get a key for my Suzuki myself and having after visiting numerous locksmith’s and take it to a locksmith to get cut.

You could man up! Buy a frame with a certificate of origin and build something cool! Stunt bike drag bike, all the oem fixes are getting old. Plus, I wanna see if you can actually do motor work. I wanna put some pistons in or ceramic bearings in the trans! Give me something lol

The one thing that the owner stressed to me when he signed over the bike was that he did not want me to fix it up, that I was to only use it for parts, so I had to respect that.
