That song reminds me of my mother who passed away almost 2 years ago. When I was a kid we would go to a local restaurant bar whenever my mom had some extra money. The food was amazing and us kids loved it there because they had music playing all the time they had a juke box and she would always play that song. Looking back I remember thinking why play such a sad song. Only now do I realize why she loved it so much she was a single mom my dad left her when she was 27 with myself 7 and two brothers 6 and 4. No child support nothing. My mother was gorgeous five foot 10 with jet black hair green eyes and just as beautiful on the inside. She put herself through school after dad left got a job with the City of Boston and waitressed 2 or 3 nights a week to provide for herself and us kids. We didn't have a lot but we had enough and we had each other. She was so proud she wouldn't collect from the state and at times we were evicted from homes or we had no heat but somehow she pulled through. We are now all grown up and successful, and when she passed away she had left a beautiful condo and many assets she accumulated throughout her hard working years. Going through her stuff now has shown me just how hard it was for her financially. now hearing this song I finally get why spending what probably was her last quarter to hear this song was her thing. She could relate to it in so many ways. She also went on to be the president of the credit union and had the respect of so many people when she passed away at 80 years old. I miss her everyday of my life. I learned so much from her. Thank you mom for never giving up and this song is for you. With much love and respect your daughter.
What a Wonderful Tribute too A Truly Remarkable Man. Mr Eddy Arnold was One of My First Personal Favorite's back in My Early yrs when I'd Actually try too Sing, before Puberty & a Boy's Voice Changes. Make The World Go Away, & Cattle Call we're My Two Favorite's, & hearing them on 78 LP or 8 Track Tape. RIP Mr Arnold.
What a great tribute to Eddy Arnold by two of my favorite - and most attractive - country vocalists. I've been such a fan of Carrie's since she sang the duet of 'It Had To Be You' with Tony Bennett some time ago. It's spectacular and so is she...
AGREE TOTALLY. I too downloaded the Tony Bennett-Carrie "It Had To Be You" but I've been following Carrie since she auditioned for idol and Simon Cowell's predictions about her have come true. She went through so much last year, what with THREE miscarriages and her fall requiring so many stitches on her beautiful face. Take care of yourself and keep appreciating great music.
Eddy Arnold once turned his back on country music which had made him famous ! In a quote he said I don’t want to be remembered as a country or a pop singer just a singer ! !
I enjoyed this song sung by another truly great Country & Western Singer - R.I.P. Mickey Gilley and thank you for your singing memories, you were truly awesome.
Eddy Arnold is my favorite singer of ALL time! Its hard to say because of so many great great country singers.I loved the baritone voice and his great stile.
I'm here because people say the person I love, likes this song. He passed away a long time ago, by listening to this song, I feel, I also became close to him.
Yes, but I am so happy that they sang it without lots of embellishments in this tribute. Very true to the original. Let the pretty words and melody speak on the wings of a beautiful voice. Fancy vocal or musical flourishes would only get in the way, and I'm so glad they stuck to Eddy's original style like that.
Dear god, she was so pretty before she fell (and it seems to me that she's had more "work" done AFTER the stitches, etc. she needed after that accident). This duet is amazing. She and Brad sound lovely together, mostly because she's NOT BELTING, she's just letting the sweetness of the song guide her vocal approach, with Brad's skilled guitar playing enriching the performance. Ah, those were the days. Want to hear her at her loveliest in another duet? Google her and John Legend singing Legend's "Hallelujah" on THE VOICE. Enjoy!
A beautiful song. My father loved it and always sang it even when he was in the Toilet. I love it too. Carrie has a beautiful voice and Brad is a very good guitar player. She sang it very well. Thanks Carrie. We love you.
They really need to bring these 2 back as hosts. They were more entertaining than the past few years hosts. I love Luke and Reba but Brad and Carrie had a great friendship and chemistry, they're jokes just rolled off of each other and they were on point...the other hosts would ruin the punch lines.....
they were paying homage to one of the all time greats of country. Sadly most of today's country artists don't have the talent they had back in the early years. And most are gone or retired. Thank God for classic country station 99.5 here in Tulsa.

Sorry for your Loss. My Mom passed away just before we went into Lockdown in 2020. She loved this song too! It is Beautiful ❤️
Carrie is so freaking great with these old classics. I wish she'd release an album just with them. Brad too.
Me too mom wanted me to play walk thru the garden alone at her funeral service. So I sang it loud n clear. Glory to God

Carrie Underwood is truly a God's gift. What a voice.
she fucking destroyed this song, and i mean it no positive intention.
@@ernest747 You're just a hater go away BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@ernest747 Everyone has a right to their opinion, I disagree!
@@ernest747 Little jealousy of how good Carrie is.
Carrie's vocals are just spectacular!

I enjoyed this song sung by another truly great Country & Western Singer - R.I.P. Mickey Gilley and thank you for your singing memories, you were truly awesome.
I love it when singers SING without the use of any electronic amplification, enhancement, etc. Carrie Underwood can sing anything and sound great.
My Mom played guitar and her and my Dad sang this on the back porch when I was a kid!
What are you drinking?
I feel that way about Brad Paisley and Brantley Gilbert his first record consisted of cell phone recordings in 09
@@georgesparks9206 not a fan of carrie either too much screeching and screaming
Uh...she's singing into an ELECTRIC microphone and he's playing an ELECTRIC guitar...lol.
Touched, truly, by such a respectful and beautiful homage to a wonderful legend of country music who will be missed by me and many.
He had one of the best voices one could ever hear. Sure miss him!
My mother absolutely loved him and his music. She was always playing it on the radio. You did a great job covering his songs.
This video has been on my watch later list for many years now. I have watched it 100s of times and it never gets old.
Me too. I miss their co-hosting duets and comic routines. I hope that they're still friends. They sound sooo wonderful together.
This was magnificent and we still miss Eddy Arnold till this day Monday April 5th 2021
My mom played the guitar and sang this song, have loved this song all my life!

INDEED. God willing. And yes, these are two beautiful and lovely people and voices.
Brad and Carrie your voices sound so good together.

You can recognize impeccable talent when 2 powerful voices & a guitar give a wonderful performance to a standing ovation. Love Carrie!

Best Duet EVER! ♥ Let's have more, please.♥
There will be no one who could beat CARRIE UNDERWOOD in vocals! period!
Erick reyes Miranda Lambert.
+Sherilynne Raper not on any planet in a million years could Miranda lambert ever even match Carrie Underwood vocally
What are you bastards smoking???
@@derekd8142 TOTALLY AGREE! NO COMPARISON. Can you imagine Miranda doing Ronstadt? Carrie sings this legend's songs pretty darn well.
Wow, beautifully sung. Love that guitar.
Good song wrong person singing it.
Eddy Arnold was Beloved by Everybody - A True Talent and a True Gentleman!!!
Make the world go away and get it off my shoulders.
My Mom played and sang this to my Dad on our back porch!
I have grown up loving this Man! My Mom played the guitar and sang this song!

Oh, and another must hear is Carrie and Dan & Shay singing "Only Us" from the movie DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Great video of them doing it in the studio.
One of my favorite songs no one can do it like Eddy Arnold.
Remember him well
Ah well
