I absolutely loved the video. Yours is the first I picked for help with this and you made it super simple. I also use a similar merhod to what you did with the long loom when I am crocheting a scarf. Hides the tailes so they aren't seen. Plus you made me laugh pretty good with how you explained it. Thank you so much.

I have a question about changing colors from band to body of sock leg to heel to body of the sock foot and toe. I wasn’t sure what you did with the tails and if changing colors is even something you recommend with socks?
I’ve been looming about two years and always have trouble making the knots when changing colors. They are always are too loose. NOT ANY MORE. Thank you so much for your video. My color changes are now perfect thanks to you. By the way , I will be 83 in March.
Hi Elayne B! Welcome!! I am happy that you found the video helpful. I appreciate the lovely comment. 83!!!! Congratulations 🎉 and a early happy birthday!!🎈 I am about to catch up with you. I just turned 71. We are still here!!! All the best to you and continued long and beautiful life!!🌻🧶🌻🌻
Hi Tammy, thank you for watching. I’m glad you found the video helpful. I have not made a video where I demonstrate making a brImless hat. I have demonstrated just the basic knitted hat without a brim - but of course it rolls around the edges. I’m thinking perhaps maybe I will demonstrate the brimless hat next. You are the second person to ask about the brimless hat. I appreciate you asking.🧶🌻🧶🌻
Hi Jodie! Thank God - all is well with me and my family. We have had some pretty hot days here in New York City too. However, we did get some rain yesterday. I hope rain comes your way soon. I am sending you love and wishes for all that is good.🌻🌻🧶
This works great but if you tie the know too tight ( I did) then your rows of knitting where the color changes is higher and doesn’t look nice. I love this method the first time I can’t see where the color changed in the knitting..
Thank you for sharing your insight. I am starting to agree with you. In fact, lately, I have been doing it the way demonstrated (the link below) in this video. It is easier and everything is even. What do you think? How To Loom Knit A Wavy Infinity Scarf - Easy - Two Stitches - Wambui Made It Infinity Scarf 30:43 - Joining the two Ends of the scarf ruclips.net/video/tWMhpukj2so/видео.html
My hubby asked me to do his Afghan (I'm doing a boarder so it doesn't roll.) I'm still new to this, he wants the color changed during the boarder. How can that be done? Or is it the same as this? Thank you!
Hi Angela! Thank you so very much for watching. If you want to change colors during the border, then the ways shown in the ‘changing color’ video are the best ways to do it - especially if you are going to be changing the colors a lot. Or you might find it easier to join the new color to the old color as demonstrated in this video at the 30:43 mark: How To Loom Knit A Wavy Infinity Scarf - Easy - Two Stitches - Wambui Made It Infinity Scarf ruclips.net/video/tWMhpukj2so/видео.html Stay wonderful!🌻🌻🧶
Hi Celina! What you are asking about the graphgan being done on the long loom. Yes, it is possible. I have never done it- but there are those who have. I would have to spend some time with it and make sure I understand it fully before I could demonstrate that technique. It sounds interesting and I will definitely start looking at it more closely. I am sorry that I can’t help you with this at this time. I thank you for this question. 👌🧶🧶🌻
I have a question for you. I'm doing a flat panel blanket on a rectangular loom and I'm doing what I believe is called the Garter Stitch where you do the E wrap and you come back with a purl stitch. Since I'm not doing the same type of project that you have on your rectangular loom, can I use your method for changing colors on the round loom instead? I need to warn you that I am using two strands of yarn so my project will be a little thicker and I am worried about one thing doing it this way and that is having to make two knots because they turn out to be one pretty big knot after tying it twice. Is there a way to get around that? Thx for putting up this video. It is a great and very easy way to change colors.
Hi Sherry! Wow! So I am going to assume that you are using the rectangular loom as a rake - you are only using on side? If this is the case, I would change colors or add yarn the way I did on the round loom. Try to change the yarn either at the beginning or the end of a row. If you are using double yarns, I would continue to treat the yarn as one yarn. I am thinking that the knot should not be that noticeable because the yarn is still the same width that you have been using for the project. I hope this helps. Let me know! 🌻🧶🧶🧶
Thank you for getting back to me. I have my loom at the widest it can go with the attachments and I'm going all the way around on the full rectangle. I did learn from someone else that you should not do any stitches on the first and last peg of the loom so I have not done that, although my first peg is broken off so I couldn't if I wanted to but I left the last peg empty as well. I actually have a video out where I was having some trouble with getting really big loops on my project and if you could find that you will see what I'm working with and maybe even be able to help me with that problem. I've had to restart my project over several times even after having 109 rows. I appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. And again thank you for your willingness to help all of us out here who have no clue what we're doing and even those that do that need a little extra help. I'm one of those that has no clue and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Help?! I’ve “bought a coffee” before but can’t seem to find where it is now. I see the link in “more” yet it’s not highlighted so I can click on it? Please direct me. Thx!

Hello so I am making a Shaw on a long rectangular and I am not done yet but I would like to know how do you take all or how would you take the Shaw off the loom
Hello! I appreciate you watching my videos. Here is the video that can show you how to get your project off the long loom. Just search my videos. The tilte of my video is: ‘Casting Off - or Getting Your Project Off the Long Loom’. I tried posting the link but am unable to do so. Thank you for asking. Take care.🌻🧶🌻🧶🧶🧶
You're welcome I just started watching your videos they looked pretty good and thank you for the I will be watching the video when it's time to take my project off the loom and thank you again
Please help! I'm in a pinch for time making my 1st grandbaby a blanket on a long loom. I'm using Bernat baby blanket yarn, it's thick and fluffy. I've tried on two different size large looms and I'm not pulling the yarn tight but for some reason, the loom keeps bending inward towards and in the middle. This makes me think it's gonna have looser/bigger stitches on the ends and smaller ones in the middle.
Hi Griffith! I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue. What stitch or pattern are you using? Are you using the pattern from this video:How To Loom Knit On A Long Loom - Part One - Loom Knitting🧶Wambui Made It ruclips.net/video/MDzBAE0fRhw/видео.html ? In the past when people have talked about the long loom bending, it turned out that the looms they were using were weak looms. Let me know the pattern or stitch and I will see if I can give you some suggestions.🌻🧶🌻
Hmmmm. At your convenience - and only if you want to, could you snap a photo of what it looks like on the loom and send it as an attachment to me at wambui @ wambuimadeit. com. I would like to see exactly what is going on. I don’t know what could be causing the loom to bend.🧶
Thank you for this video. I'm new to this but I love crafting. Where did you get your hook for this video? I broke mine and can't find anything better.

Hi Jazlin! You are a little more ‘loom knitting sophisticated’ than I am. I am not able to help with the jacquard at this time. Have you searched Pinterest? I appreciate you watching the videos.🧶🌻🧶🌻
Hi there, I'm new to the loom knit game and I am trying to wrap my brain around the logic in tying the slip knot in the new yarn and then undoing it? Why not just measure the tails and tie them as you show and then start with the new color?
Hi Raven! The way you are suggesting tying the yarn works fine. The purpose of putting a loop on the peg before tying the yarn - and then, taking it off later - is that, in theory, it helps get the knot as CLOSE to the original loop and peg as possible - with no excess yarn or gap. Sometimes a knot will slip and when we start to knit with the new yarn, the old yarn is still visible on the first stitch. Putting the loop on the peg helps to ensure that when we start knitting with the new yarn, the old yarn does not show up. Please let me know if I can help with any other concerns or questions. I thank you for watching. And, I hope you will enjoy your loom knitting journey! 🧶🧶🌻🧶🧶🌻
@@WambuiMadeIt I will try both methods and see. :) What I've been trying to find though is a way to change colors while doing a flat scarf on a round loom. I don't have a long loom so I am using the round ones I have.
@@WambuiMadeIt Excellent thank you. I am working on some Harry Potter scarves and wanted to try something new. I ususally Crochet and Tunisisan Crochet. Regular Knitting hasn't clicked yet. :)
Hi Raven! After experimenting with changing colors with a flat scarf on a round loom: If and when possible, change colors at the end or beginning of a row. (Thinking of the design of the Harry Potter scarf, that will work well.) At the end or beginning of the rows, the ‘just tying the yarn’ will work fine. The loop over the peg works too. But just use whichever is easier for you. I think you should be able to get the knots tight enough working on the ends. I trust that your Scarves will be fabulous!! 👍🏽
Hi! I'm working on a project on a long loom, and I'm alternating true single knit stitches and purl stitches. How would I go about changing colors here?
Hello! I must admit I don’t know all of the many ways there are to change colors. I am only familiar with the ways of changing colors that I have demonstrated. I am thinking that if you are using the knit and purl stitches on the long loom, you would use the technique I show for the round loom in this video. - making a loop with the new color at the beginning of each row as you change colors. Leave the end yarns that you cut off fairly long so that when the project is finished, you will have a good length to weave in to hide the end yarns. I am so sorry that I can not be more helpful. 🧶🧶🧶🌻
Hi Anisha! I appreciate you asking. I must admit I am still trying to perfect that technique, myself. Which is not to say that I won’t ever do a video about it. But it will be at least a month or so before I feel comfortable enough to make a video tutorial. 🧶🧶🧶🌻🌻🌻☀️

How to change color on a long loom making s checkerboard scarf
? Thanks
Thank You for this video it really helped me out. Just wondering have you done a brimless hat video?
Hi Tammy, thank you for watching. I’m glad you found the video helpful. I have not made a video where I demonstrate making a brImless hat. I have demonstrated just the basic knitted hat without a brim - but of course it rolls around the edges. I’m thinking perhaps maybe I will demonstrate the brimless hat next. You are the second person to ask about the brimless hat. I appreciate you asking.🧶🌻🧶🌻
At the end when we finish do we just cut the strands off?

How to change color on a long loom making a checkerboard scarf. Thanks

It isn’t even the stitches where you change the color is higher
My hubby asked me to do his Afghan (I'm doing a boarder so it doesn't roll.) I'm still new to this, he wants the color changed during the boarder. How can that be done? Or is it the same as this? Thank you!
Hi Angela! Thank you so very much for watching. If you want to change colors during the border, then the ways shown in the ‘changing color’ video are the best ways to do it - especially if you are going to be changing the colors a lot. Or you might find it easier to join the new color to the old color as demonstrated in this video at the 30:43 mark: How To Loom Knit A Wavy Infinity Scarf - Easy - Two Stitches - Wambui Made It Infinity Scarf ruclips.net/video/tWMhpukj2so/видео.html

Can you make a graphgan (blanket with many color changes in a row) with the long loom?
@@WambuiMadeIt g You're welcome. It would be great if I can.. If you figure out how to make one using it,will you make a video and tag me?

@@WambuiMadeIt Yes mam, that is the video and stitch I'm using.

Hey this helped a little but do you know how to do jacquard on a round loom? I’m having trouble finding a tutorial.. thanks.
Hi Jazlin! You are a little more ‘loom knitting sophisticated’ than I am. I am not able to help with the jacquard at this time. Have you searched Pinterest? I appreciate you watching the videos.🧶🌻🧶🌻
I did but I'll just play around with it and see what happens lol.

Hi Linnette! It was a pleasure. Thank You for watching. 🧶🧶🌻🧶
I am going to revisit changing colors - flat scarf on round loom - and will get back to later this evening.🧶🧶🧶🌻
@@WambuiMadeIt Excellent thank you. I am working on some Harry Potter scarves and wanted to try something new. I ususally Crochet and Tunisisan Crochet. Regular Knitting hasn't clicked yet. :)
Hi Raven! After experimenting with changing colors with a flat scarf on a round loom:
If and when possible, change colors at the end or beginning of a row. (Thinking of the design of the Harry Potter scarf, that will work well.)
At the end or beginning of the rows, the ‘just tying the yarn’ will work fine. The loop over the peg works too. But just use whichever is easier for you. I think you should be able to get the knots tight enough working on the ends. I trust that your Scarves will be fabulous!! 👍🏽

Can I use this method to add more yarn of the same color if I run out?
Yes! Most definitely. 🧶🌻🧶
@@WambuiMadeIt Wonderful also thank you for all your videos! I find them extremely helpful, and I learned how to knit loom by you. 😊
Can you do a video on jogless stripes? There is always a zigzag for me :(
Hi Anisha! I appreciate you asking. I must admit I am still trying to perfect that technique, myself. Which is not to say that I won’t ever do a video about it. But it will be at least a month or so before I feel comfortable enough to make a video tutorial. 🧶🧶🧶🌻🌻🌻☀️
