The person who file my authority before that I can frozen if I don’t use it but the question how to freeze it? And another question if I freeze it do I still can use the EIN? Technically you have up to a year. Just watch for a dismisses status. That means extra paperwork will be required but won’t hinder the process.

A broker does not need to update the MCS150. That’s only required for carriers.

Off topic: Have you heard about after completing the DOT & MC number and get to the $300 page and the FMCSA is is not able to accept electronic payments. Now today is Sunday. Are they online closed on the weekends for payment?
Sometimes they take the systems down for maintenance.
I have DOT but didn't file for MC as I have not purchased Equipment. However, I may be interested in running Intrastate(Illinois) for a short time before obtaining MC, and the state says I don't need a cab card if I've registered UCR. Can I register UCR and BOC3 before getting the authority? Is that prudent? Should I still update history of mileage?
No. You cannot file for a BOC until you get an MC number. Yes still file your biennial update every 2 years.

Hi Ms Penny. Does secret # 3, Update Your MCS-150 apply to people like myself, who are registering as a brand new company, or is it for those who are updating their DOT registration after two years of being in business?
It applies to both. Even as a new carrier you should do an update.

Hello 👋 I just filled out my application on the fmcsa website for my authority. I was given my USDOT # and I went ahead and filed for my BOC 3. Did I file to early? And if I did what do I need to do.? Thanks in advance.
You can file the BOC at any time. Wait at least 2 weeks from when you applied to file your insurance.
So will my authority be approve if I don’t have insurance yet?
No. Insurance and the BOC are the required filings to activate your authority.
Question 1, must you apply for DOT number first if your are a brokerage?
No. When applying for a broker you will get a DOT & MC at the same time.

Yes. One week as long as all of the requirements have been met.

Should be depending on the application status and acceptance date. Check the Licensing and Insurance for updates.

It depends on your DOT #. The last digit = Month, the NEXT to last digit = Year (odd/even)
Hello. I’m new here still trying to figure this out. Got DOT, UCR, EIN. I’m staying under 26,000 lbs do I still have to have ifta and what about logs? Are those required? Getting mixed answers. Thank you so much in advance.
If u crossing state lines u need ifta
you don’t need ifta if you’re doing non-cdl , if you’re driving with a cdl or driving over 26,001 you need those ifta stickers
Do you think my authority will get revoked if me and my wife are attached to company while having an active DOT number during the entree audit? We are in the companies drug program we are attached too and I have DQ files on us both but I just haven’t executed them due to being attached

@@ItsLizzB I just got approved on my IRP account today while still being attached but from what I understand the safety audit happens between the 3 month and 18 month so when it happens I’ll ask that question

What is VMT?
Vehicle Mileage. Can’t remember what the T stands for. Update the mileage and this notice will disappear.

It's just a way to remove the Carrier VMT Outdated notification on your account. I've had some carriers that needed this removed before a broker would work with them.
This did not work, would not let me modify

They added this BS to make more money. This BS is irrelevant.
Maybe it's irrelevant to you but it does help others get their account straight with the government.
