The States of Germany are not allowed to maintain armed forces of their own, since the German Constitution states that matters of defense fall into the sole responsibility of the federal government.
✠IThe Bundeswehr is divided into a military part (armed forces or Streitkräfte) and a civil part with the armed forces administration (Wehrverwaltung). The military part of the federal defense force consists of the Heer (Army), Marine (Navy), Luftwaffe (Air Force), Streitkräftebasis (Joint Support Service), and the Zentraler Sanitätsdienst (Joint Medical Service) branches.

Nordic Military Power Persia was great untill the Arab invaders took it over. I really hate the current islamic regime. Its holding Iran and the Iranian people back from achieving great things. If the Persian empire somehow defeated the arab attackers it wouldve been a great country.
Nordic Military Power the arabs wanted to spread islam in the region. the Persian empire and the Byzantine empire were at war for a really long time in that period. Both the Persians and the Byzantins had lost many men and resources because of the war there were also a lot of people who had health issues because of the black plague. The arabs took their chance and unfortunately defeated the Persian empire. A lot of people in Persia were Zoroastrians (the oldest monotheistic religion) some were Christians and Jews and the arabs wanted to make Persia islamic so they introduced a law where every person who had a religion that wasnt islam needed to pay more taxes untill they converted to islam. But then many years after that persia became a country again and changed its name to iran (land of the Aryans) in 1935 i think.

Tim Pfeiffer Ich stimme dir zwar zu, aber die BW ist einer der unpatriotischsten, am Schlechtesten ausgerüsteten Läden der Welt. Null Übung, mieses Gerät und sinkende Motivation. Einzig die Hingabe der länger gedienten reisst es noch raus. Flintenuschi muss weg und mit ihr die verfluchte schlechte Ausrüstung. Es muss wieder mehr Munition geben für Übungen (kann teilweise nicht geübt werden wegen Mangel) und die Flieger dürfen nicht mehr in der Luft zusammenklappen. Nichts desto trotz, lang lebe Deutschland!

Zum Thema Ausrüstung: Ist ja klasse dass die BW den besten Spz der Welt hat, aber das macht nicht die miserable Ausrüstung der Soldaten wett. Das ein Soldat in 2017 mit einer Lochkoppel rumrennt ist nunmal erbärmlich. Klar, im Einsatz kriegen sie eine Weste, aber das üben macht ohne keinen sinn. "Train as you fight" gibt es nicht. Ein paar haben IDZ, den Rest kann man vergessen. Und das G36 wird sowieso ausgetauscht, die nutzungsfrist ist ausgelaufen. Höchtswahrscheinlich HK433 als Nachfolger.
Zum Theam Patriotismus: Ja! Warum rennt die BW in "Heeresstaubsaugervertreteranzug" rum und hat (Britisches!) Barett auf? Warum nicht Preußischer rock und Schirmmütze wie es immer war? Und zum Zapfenstreich die Pickelhaube? Der Große Zapfenstreich ist eine Preußische Tradition, aber da muss man nun den Linken recht geben: Der sieht nun mehr Nazi aus als Preußisch!

I read reports (in many media) with titles such as "submarines that do not submerge, ships that do not sail, planes that do not fly and soldiers without uniforms" as I understand the German forces are at a third of their operational capacity, but, as the saying goes.... "there is no more expensive defense than the one that is not used" !!!!
When a real crisis starts, you can see that the German army will increase to 2 million soldiers and magically get 3000 tanks and 8000 aircraft. They are Germans, they have built one of the finest armies the world has ever seen and they are always ready for war.

Gar nicht. Das G36 wird höchstwahrscheinlich vom HK433 abgelöst. Das HK433 ist die weiterentwicklung aus G36 und HK416. Die ergonomie des G36 ist der des HK416 weit überlegen, daher wäre es einer verschlimmbesserung.

@Alex Nikolaev well, the "post soviet states" are moving on as well, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Ukraine are understanding now that you (Russians) are actually the bad guys. Recently Ukraine has been removing some soviet propaganda like statues and monuments, because it is all brainwashing. Even Poland did not invite you for their celebration, becaus they know that you were conquerors, not liberators. It seems that Russia has nothing to be proud of, since you are an underachieving nation (even militarily, you are not that strong, as we saw you gatting your ass kicked in Afghanistan). So those "victory parades" are pretty much a desperate act fro a country that has nothing positive to show the world. Russia is a nation that has such a terrible quality of life, that people fix their frustrations with alcoholism, because while China, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Israel, Chile, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, Ireland, Iceland were struggling countries until the mid 20th century, they developed strong economies and became hubs of innovation and quality of life. Russia has only large areas, and an economy that extraxt raw products, but nobody wants to immigrate to Russia, because you have nothing to offer to the world.
