The Animated movies before this had Ron Perlman voicing the character, and those films were more in the comics than the movie versions. In fact most of the first live action movie cast voiced the animated version but as said the movies were based on the comics and the art also resembled Mike Mignola's art. This one is good, but feels a bit clunky.
Ngl, I always thought the animated Hellboy movies looked pretty cool when I first saw a promo of one of them on Toonami on Cartoon Network once as a kid while I was watching the marathon of Tranformers Cybertron at that time :) Would've been nice if they did Hellboy Animated again someday but this time as an actual show since I'll also take that over that weird 2019 movie of Hellboy anyday lol.
I kinda like the unpolished animation, it gives it a kinda blocky style a-la samurai jack or book of life. And the shadowing on the angles got the tone too. A little fine tuning and a few more frames to stop the stuttering and I could see this working.
The early 2010 CGI cell shading style never took off, see Spiderman the new animated series, Skyhawks, dragon rider etc. This fits mignola's drawing style a lot better than the Saturday morning special that was blood and iron and the other Hellboy animated movie though, Notice the gritty details like hellboy's chest hair, man bun, Aztec carving etc, completely changes the feel of the short film to be more adult like
@@user-ik2uf7fw6iAgree with you as well. It just doesn’t have the same magic and vibe of the ‘04 and ‘08 sequel movie. Now the first two animated movies were awesome though. Blood and Iron is my favorite of the two.
Looks cool, kinda reminds me of the Hellboy Animated movies that I also thought were fun to watch imo even tho' my first time seeing one of them was from a Toonami promo when I was a kid lol.
Voice Cast: Hellboy: Zebulon Pike Sid Leach: Eric Murray Pike normally does animation and visual effects. I think they did the voice acting themselves due to budgetary reasons. Maybe Ron Perlman and Rob Paulsen were too expensive or unavailable for a film short.
I'm fully disappointed Hellboy needs a glowstick to see, I'm irked. I'd rather think he just has to be in a mood & his eye-sockets would just light up red-mad or umber-butthurt maybe orange-bored-rage.
For crying out loud we NEED a full animated series of Hellboy
If somebody got the attention of the right streaming service, Hellboy would make a great tv show.
homnestly amazon prime, they hit it when it comes to animated shows
Adult swim?
@@oscarmisere8543 Don't see why not. It worked for Primal.

Hellboy should be just animated rather than live action 😊
Stop motion like the Del Toro Pinocchio
But that would only make sense. And we all Hollywood doesn't do that now a days.
We had 2 before and we should get more and you can still have Ron Perlman VA as Hellboy. Win Win
Except Ron Perlman version.😊
True
This looks awesome. I love it. Never knew about this animated Hellboy short.

I'm pretty sure that this one was more or less a proof of concept/demo before they got to making the movies.
I've been trying to find this, thanks for uploading!
Easily the best animated style I've ever seen. This is what I want to see 👀👀👀♥️
Tentacle monsters, It's always tentacle monsters!
Yes, and if they could nail down Mignola’s art style like the Amazing Screw-on Head animated pilot it would be perfect
Thanks so much fir uploading this! Found out this existed last week and have been itching to watch it!

Thought I commented on this guess I didn’t lol but love this and well done! Keep up the awesome work!
Netflix should make something like this.
They would make him gay
I wish it was hand drawn, this animatión Is not Bad but hellboy would look awesome in tradicional animation
Stop motion would be better tbh. Just get Phil tippett on it.

Hellboy: ( throws glow stick)
Monster:( gets ticked off)
Hellboy: uh oh
Me: I think you just pissed off Cthulhu, bro
looks like that one spiderman show that took place in the same continuity as the sam raimi trilogy
Good thing that Web of Wyrd exists now
Thank you !
Somebody share this with Ron Perlman asap!!!
Looks and sounds like a 50% done project.
They may as well make that new upcoming movie into a Tubi series or something because that’s just trash, at least Netflix would make the series raw AF
I agree 100% after the Ron Pearlman movies they couldn't do it right

I saw this on the Roku channel

More, please?
voice actor casting could have been better
The animation is good, but the voice doesn’t have as much character as Rom Perlman’s
Man hell boy should be animated not live action
I had the Same m idea but can it rest
Is that the Dimir symbol on the door???
Never seen this one ,its the best animated hellboy i seen ftf x

animation great, voice acting terrible...
