Know this song means many things to people, and I’ve been on the Band of Horses fanwagon for years, but it took on special meaning to me when I began the dark walk of Alzheimer’s with my mother. “Say you’re at a loss, or forgot” kills me every time I hear it. It’s a horrid disease and I had to endure the worst of it through window visits at a memory care facility due to Covid. Lucky enough to have 2 days by her side at hospice when she passed. Will always love this song and memories of better times with her.
I work in a care home with 34 dementia "patients". I had this song going through my head all day, today. Until I read your post, I never understood the irony! Best wishes to you and your Mum.

Just saw BOH in concert. I drove 10 hours round trip to see them. Why they don't play this song is beyond me. Riveting lyrics. Thank you for a great show.🙂
I’ve never seen Ben sing without playing an instrument and this is the perfect song to solely focus on vocals and nothing else. Bens a top talent where they sound even better live, and not just because of the experience, but literally his vocals sound even more impressive, more perfect
This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. He's telling her over and over again, despite, what has just happened or what ever it is she is thinking of herself or the smallness of other peoples minds, or even if she is breaking up with him, he can't look at her anyway other way than as beautiful as she is to him, his eyes won't let him see her any less than. It's like a combination of two great songs, wrapped into one special ONE - Firefall Just remember I love you and Billy Joel She's Always A Woman To Me.
